“My wife and I stumbled onto this location one day when passing through Queens. She just wanted to grab a quick cup of coffee, but what we got was so much better than expected. We had a “flat white” which was amazing high-quality coffee. And a piece of homemade baklava. I have to say this was hands-down, The absolute BEST baklava I’ve ever had in my life and if you’re a fan of this dessert, you absolutely need to go try it for yourself. I myself, have grown-up eating plenty of baklava. In my hometown, we have one of the highest Middle Eastern populations in the country so we have plenty of great baklava but I’ve still never had it this good. It was Perfect!✨ A large quantity, but not too filling, well-defined layers, very light & flaky but still moist, and just the right amount of nuts. when you bite into it, no part of the dessert gets lost or covered up. You can taste every element standing out with prominent flavor; from the freshness of the walnuts to the sweetness of the syrup and quality of the dough. After talking to the owner for a while, she explained to us how she bakes everything herself and how she refuses to buy her desserts from bakeries or skimp out on quality even if it makes her job easier. Let me tell you, it shows! I highly respect the integrity she brings to her baking and her café. She also gave us some cookies that were amazing as well.

Now let me tell you a bit about the owners of this establishment. They’re a dedicated hard working family from Montenegro and were some of the nicest people I’ve ever met in my travels. They were VERY kind warmhearted people who opened their business up to us as if it was their home and we were long time friends, stopping by for a visit. It was honestly surreal how comfortable they made us feel. We spoke for over an hour and enjoyed their beautifully designed and well kept Café/Bar. Whenever I go to a new location, I really pay close attention to how much the owners care about their business and the customers they serve. It is by far the most important criteria. With these owners, you can tell they really put their all into the business and it is truly a family affair. I loved how the husband and wife were both there working together and even their daughter pitches in. The daughter even drew this amazing Halloween picture on the board by the entrance and you can tell how proud her parents are of her skills. I truly admire the love and attention this family puts into their business, and I can confidently say they’re the American dream in action!🇺🇸 Please go pay these guys a visit I promise you won’t be disappointed. I know for us, It will be worth it to make the trip from New Jersey to visit again soon.“

“We stopped by this café for a Saturday morning breakfast. The exterior was charming, which drew us in. Parking is street-only, so it can be tricky on busier days, but we lucked out.

I ordered a cortado—decent, nothing remarkable. I went with the avocado toast, which they’re apparently known for. It was as minimalist as it gets: a slice of ciabatta, olive oil, a generous amount of fresh avocado, salt, and pepper. No frills, but solid and satisfying. My friend had a multigrain croissant with sausage and egg—basic and hearty.

The café is mostly self-service, and while the vibe was relaxed, the service was quite slow. We even cleared our own table from the previous guests. It seemed a bit understaffed, but the food was fresh and filling. A cute local spot, though don’t expect speed or polish.“

“Matcha Cafe Maiko is my favorite spot for desserts! This spot is my go-to, especially when I'm craving matcha or hojicha flavors. The Maiko Special is always one of my favorites to order and share with a friend, but this month's specials were black sesame which I knew I had to try as well! I ordered the black sesame soft serve and my friend ordered the black sesame latte, and both were incredible! I'm a huge fan of black sesame flavored desserts, and these really hit the spot.

Also loved how the shop was decorated beautifully for Halloween! Amazing quality desserts, service, and vibes. I also appreciate how this location has a few benches outside, so when I visit with friends, we're able to sit together right outside the shop and enjoy our desserts. I've been here several times and will definitely will keep coming back!“

Barely touched my pasta with preserved lemon because I was full, but it was delicious. My daughter’s burger was iconic. The Platonic ideal of hamburgers. Coffee was also delicious. If we had not made a plan to go to La Cabral for dessert and more coffee, I am sure dessert would have been equally excellent.Service was excellent and our waitress was knowledgeable and interested in the food.The fluke reminded me of the first time I went to USC in 1988. “After hearing great things about Land to Sea, we made the trip all the way from Long Island City—with our foster dog Mission in tow! The staff were so kind and even offered him ice water on a hot morning, which we really appreciated. We sat outside and were grateful for the shaded seating.

I had the roast pork bun and coconut bun—both were absolutely delicious! Perfectly chewy, moist, and full of authentic flavor.

I got the strawberry gelato and decaf cappuccino, though i tried my friends’ vanilla gelato and starberry milkshake. All were superb. I was not expecting such high quality.

“My go-to everyday 4 days a week! I love it here. The coffee is always fresh and well-made and so are the sandwiches. “I'm a Long Islander, I been lucky to have some amazing coffee places all over the states. But ironically I did not try their coffee nor did I give their lattes a try, I felt they were kind of small for the price and just a typical NYC thing, but let me just say it is probably worth it quality wise. The Croffles are AWESOME! I had a Tiramisu and Earl Grey one. Earl Grey cakes and flavors are making their way more onto menus and I am all for it! The early grey croffle was so good, and don't let the small size fool you, that thing filled me up. It is literally "something sweet" it was very sweet but so tasty. Tiramisu was really good too, I just felt it was nothing insane but it was tasty on the croffle. Maybe because also it had nothing to balance it with a bitter taste, Tiramisu lady fingers gives it that espresso taste, it did have some espresso beans and powdering on it but not strong enough for my taste. They also had matcha tiramisu they sell and have some cool pre-made stuff, a tasty Korean inspire one looked so good!

I love speciality coffee, but I have to give it to these places, they are smart to go into baking, this was so tasty and gave me a wake me up with it's natural tea and tiramisu did have a that espresso vibe.
Also shoutout to the workers, very friendly, super funny, not too casual friendly, professional and just very kind people. NYC is a fast place, especially around 55th it can feel like everything is moving quick, even a bit lonely the city that is so big, it was nice to just have a chill chat and meet someone nice and the workers were down to earth! I'm a bit of a fisherman hillbilly and NYC is too much for me when visiting to see family, but places like these keep me going!

“The egg toasts were delectable! Actually so happy my sister and I chose to come by. It has a tiny kick of spice which was a pleasant surprise. My sister got the vanilla flat white coffee and she loved it and finished it so quickly. The only thing I wasn't over the
moon for was the corndog. I got the mozarella hot dog corn dog and it was okay. I wouldn't get it again.

The space is small but offers some seating indoors and outdoors. I will definitely try to come again for the egg toast specifically.“
