“We had gone to Woodys for years and recently started visiting more frequently. Really enjoy the atmosphere and the food is good. The holiday decor is a whole vibe—the owners and staff really went all out to provide a warm, inviting experience for their customers. We are always greeted warmly and made to feel welcome. I always enjoy the time spent at Woodys, whether with friends or family. The seating options are many as the heated outdoor area is available all year long. “On an ordinary day, we go here for beers and a burger with cottage fries and always have the best time. I have to mention this weekend specifically though because we had our wedding after party here. The owner, Kevin, is truly one of the nicest people and always provides service with a genuine smile. He is courteous and made all of our family and friends feel welcome and well taken care of throughout our evening. Even in the busiest moments, Kevin and staff managed to be accommodating and attentive. Cannot say enough enough about this place, the family and the staff. Wonderful!“

“Came in for taco Tuesday date night with my husband and our newborn. Food is fantastic and delicious absolutely loved the birria it's different than the norm deep flavor loved it.
The chef checked on how we liked our dinner and offered to hold our baby while I ate very sweet staff absolutely had a wonderful time accompanied by great music from a rocking guy playing guitar

I guess it would be good bar food, but the fries weren't seasoned, so it was good with the sauce they put on, but when we got fries with the sandwich, the plain fries were unseasoned. We didnt really think this should be under "dive bar" so yea. Refers to food as nips and idk if it was the chicken tenders or just some other item used“

“we've been going to 709 for many years, and go there quite often . service is always good, but the food has been hit or miss for the past year. they closed down and reevaluated their menu and staff. the new staff is excellent, as was the old. we have decided to continue to support 709 during their transition. Saturday's dinner was just not prepared to my liking. my fillet was medium well, when i asked for medium rare. the server was excellent, and tried everything to accomodate my requests. no fault of her own. but, the chefs should pay better attention to what they are cooking. the sushi chefs also need to check the freshness of the fish they are serving. the usually "red" tuna was gray. we tried a piece each, and decided not to eat it, and it was then off our bill. 709 was "the" place to grab a great meal.... look at my other reviews. not too sure anymore.“

The effort is definitely not there food wise, but it's my first trip to the Shore, so I can't really compare it to any other food spots. The It is a small bar and grill with a dark almost mystical ambiance on a small one-way street. I also want to give credit to every member of the staff who took plates, filled water, and performed other tasks that are often overlooked. Everyone was fast and pleasant, going far beyond the normal service provided at most restaurants. The food was amazing, served at the perfect pace, and abundant in portions. The view (as you will see) was the final touch. Can't wait to come back again, this is one of the best beach dining experiences in New Jersey and can't be missed.“
