“We were staying at the Tarrytown house estate and decided to visit Goosefeather for dinner, not having any idea about the restaurant other than that it was located on-site. As Chinese-style martial artists, we were pleasantly surprised to see the Cantonese -fusion menu options as we walked in. Unfortunately, we did not have reservations, but we were able to sit at the bar. What an auspicious turn of luck! The bar offers not only the full menu, but the chance to watch professionals at their craft. We were taken care of by Mariana and Sara, who were busy yet still highly attentive. They were very knowledgeable about the menu, and explained everything even before our questions had a habce to leave our lips. We started with some standard drinks (a spicy martini, and one of their mocktails with Ron Zacapa rum added in). Solid pours, balancing the flavors of the drinks with adequate alcohol to keep things fun). Next week ordered the spicy rice cakes and the potstickers. Each was perfectly done. The potstickers were crispy but not burnt, and paired with a just-right spicy Chinese mustard. There were four per serving, which served to whet out appetites while leaving us waiting for more. Next, we got the spicy rice cakes. These were just hot enough to let the tongue know, but the spice built pleasantly. The plate was pretty big, and the two of us had more than one or two helpings each. Finally, we had the Crying Tiger Tuna. The lightly seared and seasoned tuna was paired with avocado salad, pickled gooseberries, and sweet goji berries. Delicious! To cap it off, we switched up our drinks for two of their signature cocktails. Sweet emotion is a pumpkin espresso martini with a smoky bubble of deliciousness in top. Love in an Elevator is a wild rum ride of flavors I'd never think to blend, such as apricot, chocolate, and lemon. Overall, while pricey, the experience, the food, and the atmosphere made it worth it! As a bonus, we were watched over by a really cool portrait of Bruce Lee!“

“I came here for lunch with my swim team and everything was amazing. The atmosphere, the service, the company, and the food. It’s like a Chinese style Chipotle, where you can customize your own bowl or try a signature dish. The staff was super friendly and the artwork on the wall was eye catching. Would recommend coming here! The only thing is it’s a little pricey and if you want to add meat or seafood to your bowl it costs a few cents extra.“

“Hands down best Chinese food around the area.I usually make my own Chinese food but when I’m not feeling it I always buy from here only! The people are friendly and food is tasty. We have received stale fried noodles before that’s probably the worst thing.“

“I haven’t eaten such authentic Hunan cuisine in a long time! The boss is from Zhangjiajie and the homemade wine is delicious! The pickled radish in the "soy skin" hot pot is also delicious and the beef is very tasty. I wish the boss a prosperous business!“

“We ordered like 5 or 6 things. Everything was very good to excellent. Essentially the same quality as Soup Dumpling plus, a smaller menu/seating, but nowhere near the same crowd. Service is very good, we love the manager! You cant find better soup dumplings than here in this area without having to wait. Everything all homemade and legit authentic. Their spicy szechuan dumplings are the best you can find in NJ and they offer rare and delicious sauteed snow pea leaves and watercress... Their crab/pork soup dumplings are slighty larger but have a thin chewy wrapper, lots of broth - are phenomenal.“

“Had our second meal there tonight—even better than the first. Flavors are complex and delicious, and there is clearly great care taken with each dish. Recommended dishes: crispy cucumber, lobster with ginger and scallion (a special tonight—outstanding) and shredded pork with garlic sauce. Our new favorite Chinese restaurant in Westchester. Can’t wait to return.“

“I’ve been coming here from when I used to go to Tenafly Middle school. This place was my go to for after school snack.
Price is still amazing for lunch deals around $8~$12, portions are generous, and ultimately foods are great.
It’s been more than 10 years but I’ll still come to Tenafly just for Good Taste general chicken tsp combo.
Highly recommended.“

“Very nice people, they are friendly and the food was good. I ordered for delivery and it came fast but that will depend on if the restaurant is busy or not! There are a couple flies but thats because they leave the door open and i dont mind it because some restaurants leave the door closed and it gets hot and humid when they cook. I enjoy this place and i will be coming back“

“Great quality Chinese take out food. We've had the General TSO chicken combo with pork fried rice and an egg roll and the chicken chow fun which both are very delicious. Their food hits the spot whenever we crave Chinese take out and they get our order right every time. This is the only Chinese spot we trust in Rockland county, they're awesome“

“We ordered delivery off of the website, the food came quick and everything we tried was delicious! If you’re new to the area and trying to find your Chinese food spot, definitely give this one a try. We ordered Wonton soup, General Tso combo with pork fried rice, wings combo with house special fried rice, boneless spareribs, and egg rolls. To me the wonton soup was perfect, not super salty like you get from other places, and the wontons were hearty and tasty. The general tso combo was the perfect amount of food, it made two meals for me and had the perfect amount of spice for me as it’s normally made. If you like spicier you could probably request that. My husband loved the wings and the house special fried rice. The boneless spareribs were really really good, I’ve ordered them from other places and there’s always an after taste, here they’re cooked perfectly. The only thing we noticed was the egg rolls did seem to be a bit oily inside, but other than that also very tasty.“

“Walked in and ordered a large chicken and broccoli rice. Total was $13.06 plus tax.It was packed with food and the rice was separated which I kinda appreciated bc I got a value for my meal. If you walk down the block to get some pizza or pasta they’re all $15-$20 and up. Will be back for quick and good food.“
“I absolutely LOVE this restaurant! The food is absolutely phenomenal and their customer service is exquisite! I never have any issues when I dine in or when I order delivery. This is the best Chinese food restaurant in Hackensack!!! 10 out of 10 I highly recommend ordering from “

“Always drove by it and saw advertising in our local Clipper but never jumped in until a few days ago. Three Asians cuisine, Chinese, Japanese and Thai. Had dinner with my family, my daughter ordered shrimp fried rice, my wife had Mei fun noodles while I ordered the yellow curry tofu. We all also shared sushi rolls, sashimi and hand rolled sushi. My curry dish was amazing just as good as if I had it at a Thai only restaurant. My daughter said the best fried rice she’s had and the same with my wife’s noodle dish. Plenty of different dishes to choose from specially if your family can agree on a cuisine. The service was great and attentive and the atmosphere was nice and mellow.
Vegetarian options: Tofu or just veggies can be substituted.“

“Great delicious chinese food I had pork fried rice and General Chaos Chicken with wonton soup and an egg roll . Everything was very good as far as the food . The bathroom was smelling like mold and area where you eat was ok atmosphere not great but food was great . Service was good lady brought our food to the table which was nice of her. its not a place where they have waitresses its order at the counter only to go or eat in . Place is open later than most restaurants in the area too and alot of parking on the street.“

The dishes are consistently of high class, the service towards the customers is helpful. I visit often this restaurant and I not even once was unsatisfied. I recommend it to all.“

“items i ordered were slightly better than every other chinese place ive been. general tso chicken had a slight pineapple flavor, hinting a tang-soo-yook (for those korean) profile. veg lo mein tasted exactly how it was supposed to. even the wonton soup had this extra egg/chicken umami to it. added bonus... the mom (i assume owner) and little daughter (just hanging out there) were very welcoming and hospitable to me/wife/my 3 yr-old. perhaps this place deserves 4 - 4.5 since its not like food was anywhere close to Michelin Star level - but i rate as 5 in context of chinese take outs.“

“Extremely delicious and authentic Chinese food. As a white person who grew up in Fuzhou, China, this place instantly reminded me of my hometown. The flavors dance on my tongue like a beautiful ballet and my mouth is enveloped in heavenly textures. I seriously recommend this to EVERYONE. As someone who is currently living in Flushing, Queens, I drive to here every week with my wife and two kids. One time my kid didn't like the water the restaurant served, so of course I had to use the kung fu I learned to discipline them. Anyhow, this has to be the best restaurant on Earth. Give this restaurant a try and you won't regret it.“

“I can’t say enough about this place. We have been ordering from them for 25 years. Never ever had a problem. Food is always great. We usually pick it up but get delivery every so often. The food comes so fast it’s unbelievable! And they are great about diet restrictions too!
Dietary restrictions: I am on a very low sodium diet. They always accommodate me!“

“The food here is great. Came for a late lunch with my gf. The staff is friendly, and welcoming. They have very fast service. They kept my water glass filled. For the price of takeout you get a nice restaurant experience.
The wonton soup was good, light, not oily, and had tiny bits of pork in the broth.
The scallion pancakes are fried until crispy. They dont have too many scallions inside but are light and have a slight stretch and a good mouth feel. They weren't oily from low heat oil.
The fried wontons were deep fried and the skin had little bubbles in them which gave them a flaky texture as it crackles in your mouth. The inside was still soft and delicious.
The general tso chicken was good too. The chicken was fried til it had a sugar crack almost and had extra sauce on top.
The vegetable fried rice was good. It had eggs, Scallions, sprouts, onions. It didn't need much sauce at all.
The schezuan chicken was good. The meat was nice and silky. The brown sauce wasn't too salty. The vegetables that came with it were steamed nicely and also had a decent amount of sauce.
The white rice was nice, and fluffy.
The bill came with orange slices and fortune cookies“

“I have ordered from here several times and it’s always been pretty tasty. Today I ordered to work and upon delivery I got chicken instead of beef with broccoli. I called and they told me that they would fix my order a little later when the driver has a nearby delivery. I wasn’t sure wether or not I’d get my dish, but eventually they did come and swap the dish….not something you can take for granted these days when gas prices are through the roof. So tasty food and great service. I highly recommend east wok and will order from them again for sure :-)“

“It's the only Chinese food restaurant i order from. Recommend getting their chicken wings and chicken and broccoli with pork fried rice. One thing I should mention from time to time they might accidentally forget to put hot sauce or forks but as long as you remember to mention it or take a quick check before you leave. They're super kind and great service.“

“I have been eating here since the pandemic. The food is just amazing. Fresh and tasty. The lady in the front even remembers my mother and my whole family. She asks about my mom every time I come in. “I highly recommend visiting this Chinese restaurant. One of my favorite local spots for their delicious food, great portions of food and prices are affordable. I ordered a happy family which came with white rice, shrimp and broccoli that came with egg roll and pork fried rice and general tso with lo mein.
Thank you foo chow, I'll be back!
Parking: Being my first time, parking was limited as I ordered food around 8-8:30 pm. There's plenty of street parking but it's a little tough to find a spot to pull in...
Kid-friendliness: This location is kid friendly. They have a television for entertainment and they have tables available for dine in.
Wheelchair accessibility: This location has wheelchair accessibility around the platform.“
“Actually amazing. I'm a chef down in the city at a Michelin place, and this was the best Chinese takeout I've had in awhile.I peeped their ingredients and everything was fresh. Bright green veggies, even the scallions that the cooks garnished on the plates. The meat didn't have the typical freezer burn taste.Even the rice was plump as if expertly cooked in a fancy overpriced Manhattan place. The service... The solo cook was handling everything but took the time to even clear a table for my group among the boxes of supplies and hand delivered all the food. Even asked if everything was ok.When I asked for hot sauce, he gave me the legit chili sauce you find in Chinese supermarkets. This is the type of place that is a regional hidden gem. I'll be submitting this place to the times and nymag, as I would def come back again if in the area.“

“As someone who has lived in Chongqing for several years, these noodles are delicious, but doesn’t quite have that Chongqing flavor, although it’s really close to it. I gave them 4 stars simply because the noodles are a bit pricey. $20 for a bowl of beef noodles is a bit too much.“

“I recently tried out this Chinese restaurant and was pleasantly surprised! Their Singapore Mei Fun was absolutely delicious and bursting with flavor—you can really taste the cumin and other spices — the spice from the noodles even cleared my sinuses without being overpowering. The pork fried rice was also great, with a nice balance of flavor and none of the greasy aftertaste you sometimes get from other places. Best of all, the prices are very reasonable. Definitely a place I’ll be ordering from again!“

“I have not found many Chinese restaurants beyond Chinatown that's considered close to being called good until I tried this one. I only ever ordered delivery because my brother is living at a Senior Rehabilitation center on W190 st. I was surprised to find the Chicken and Broccoli not drenched in oil or overcooked! It's not salty or full of MSG like other typical Take outs. Everything I ordered showed a true experienced cook. No lumpy gelatinous "gravy" although I always make it a point to ask for little gravy and they actually followed my request! I don't ever judge a Chinese restaurant by its decor. Some of the BEST ethnic foods I've had, we less than inviting. I get why they do not bother w the "atmosphere" but focused on good food. I get that it would be nice to be able to enjoy going there if you are a long time patron but I used to love a place called Peking Duck in Chinatown until they moved to a new space and changed to an upscale look and soon the food was not at all the same. Perhaps the chef left but I still missed the dishes they used to make to perfection. So don't fix what's not broken. If this is the only Chinese restaurant near you count your lucky stars bc they do authentic Chinese cooking.“
