“It's great that they host local events out on the porch, which is what we came for.
The inside is tight and loud. I'm sure it's better on a typical night with 5 or 6 people inside.

Wheelchair accessibility: Didn't see a ramp or any way to get around inside with a chair.“

“I had dinner with my wife on Friday night. We live 2 blocks away. Normally we stop in to a have few drinks and get some apps, which are always good. Last night I tried some of the dinner choices. I couldn’t decide so I got the Seafood Gumbo which was outstanding. Then I got the Southern Fried CatFish with the mustard sauce, which was amazing. They were both big portions, (I didn’t finish either, although I tried, haha). My wife had buffalo cauliflower and dry Cajun wings which were both really good. The food is a hidden gem that we have in Palmyra, the prices are good and the service is always great. We had the young guy with hat and he was awesome. The bartenders even jump out to make sure the tables are ok. The acoustic guy playing was just right also. I know the owners have worked hard to keep 5 West going the last few years. Keep up the Great work!!“

“Cute spot for a drink. Interesting mix of drink options and prices were quite reasonable for the area. The seating is a bit limited but we were lucky enough to grab a seat right by the bar. Bartenders were super friendly and quick. Didn't get any food but the sandwiches around us looked interesting and would consider coming back to try these.“

“Went on a date night with my man and we had a great time. The food was very well cooked and seasoned. We got pretzels that were delicious. The mustard had wasabi so it was veryyy spicy and it also came with melted cheese on the side that I loved. Then I got the Schwab burger and it was delicious. My boyfriend got a salmon burger but he didn’t love it. I’m not a beer girl but they had cocktails and it was an amazing drink. I forget the name sorry! The service was great, Leo was our server he was very nice and we got everything we asked for in a timely manner. The atmosphere was nice, just loud on a Saturday night. There’s a shop to buy beer and a pool table. I think there’s an upstairs but we didn’t go up there. Would recommend for girls night, date night, and just casually getting together.“

“We came on a whim, and were blown away by the sushi. The miso butter cod and the eel signature rolls in particular were excellent, but everything we ordered was beautifully presented and tasted incredible. Will be back next time we’re in town.

“Great bartender, incredible music selection and possibly the best burger in the city. Especially for the dollar it is the best burger. The beer list was absolutely incredible and diverse. Happy hour like everywhere in this town means two dollar off pints. Even on days like St. Patrick’s Day, they still are efficient and friendly at Fountain Porter.

Parking: It’s South Philly. You know what you’re getting into. It’s busy.

“I just joined Five Iron Fishtown and I love it. The location is great and I love the vibes of the inside. The hours are perfect as I generally go to use the simulators before work in the morning and work on my swing or play a round. I’ve also had a few lessons with Senior Golf Pro Matt Davis and I can already tell my swing has gotten better. With the technology they have and following Matt’s direction I feel like I’ll be performing a lot better once I get on an actual course. Highly recommend.“

“My wife and I accidentally found this gem on the way back to our Airbnb, and honestly, it felt like the universe gave us a high-five. The crowd? Chef’s kiss—young, old, and every flavor of humanity in between. The live three-piece jazz band was absolutely melting faces (in the classy jazz way, not the metal way). Drinks were so cheap I had to double-check we weren’t on a happy hour hallucination. The vibes? Immaculate. We might just move in—or at least go back tonight.“

“Just to illustrate how incredible the food and drinks are- I was broken up with at Sassafras (guy totally broke my heart), and I STILL come back whenever I get the chance, haha. I’m from out of town and occasionally work for a couple weeks a year in Philly, and I absolutely love Sassafras. I go out of my way to have at least one meal here when I’m in town. The atmosphere is incredible- especially for interior design/architecture junkies- the mosaic floor and tile work is lovely, vintage cocktails are beautifully made, and the food is unique and delicious. “Different Cheesesteak #1191. It's a sneaky good cheesesteak. If I were young and hip, I would be a regular at New Wave Cafe. The cheesesteak came with sneaky good French fries. It passed the eye test mostly due to the seeded roll, red peppers, and a big pile of french fries. Provolone cheese. Very well-melted provolone cheese. A sneaky good amount of well-melted provolone cheese added a hardiness to each bite. Nothing really stood out. This cheesesteak by itself may not win any awards. But, all things considered; prime rib, french fries, presentation, decor, and service; I really liked it!! You know I don’t like $17.“

We loved following the book and making our own potions ! The food was great, and the adult beverages were the best! These guys pay attention to detail and really care about your experience. “Such an amazing view of the city! But they had a very limited menu for food. I wish there were a couple more options. Also we went in October and it got a little chilly on the roof. I was surprised that there wasn’t any heaters or blankets available to make customers comfortable. There also wasn’t any fall drinks/ warm drinks, I feel like that was a missed opportunity. Overall a nice time, but a couple things could have made it better.“

The miso Caesar salad was delish until I connected the smell to a memory which was ~vintage Tupperware~. I couldn’t eat anymore after that but before I had that thought it was delish. Sandos were amazing and the drink was yummy! Service was perf per usual.“

“One of the best places to become a regular at great drink, great food, great prices. Staff, especially management staff, are lovely and care about their customers. Alone? No problem, they've got cool and interesting people behind the bar who want to chat. With a group? They've got tables for you.

Vegetarian options: Cold spicy noodles, and vegan burgers always available. Great salad option as well.

Parking: Street larking available on Frankford Ave and side streets. Easy to find parking after 4-5pm.

“This place is fun for a family with older teens. Several groups around us, of all adults, were having a lot of fun too. We have older teens and this was a great way to spend an evening together. The staff is the best part about this place. They are friendly and attentive. The food is basic bar fare but not bad at all, it hits the spot. The axe throwing is a good time. Our instructor was excellent and I landed way more axes than I didn’t after some instruction. The gals at the bar were super friendly. We will definitely come back each time we visit our college kiddo in Philly.“

“It’s harder and harder to find a good cocktail for under $20 in a big city. Poison Heart gives you excellent cocktails, great small bites, and an unpretentious environment in spades. Oysters and waffle fries hit. The Songs About Keri is a quaffable, less sweet version of a good margarita. The Goodbye Horses is a nicely acidic, bright redo on a classic Old Fashioned.“

“I went to Jet Wine bar for a Halloween movie night with a friend. They were understaffed but they still went above and beyond to take care of us. Food and drinks were excellent. We watched the movie inside even though they were only serving outside. It was so kind and really an unnecessary accommodation they made for us to enjoy our time there. I'll definitely be going back!

“Been coming for years — love this place. Great food, great service, great beer list.

The highlights of our meal tonight were the Au Poivre burger on special — so tender, juicy, and cooked exactly as I ordered it — and the apple walnut gorgonzola salad. I subbed in their house balsamic which is SO good with the sweet candied walnuts. HUGE chunks of high quality gorg, too. Iced tea was delicious and the lemons were clean and fresh. (This matters!)

“Was here in Philly celebrating a friend‘s birthday and they wanted to check out Ashton‘s, which is a pretty well-known cigar lounge in Philly. We were told that their cigars are overpriced, so to bring our own which we did, but they do have a bar and lounge area. We went on a Saturday (they do not open until four). We got there around there 530 and they were already pretty packed. We lucked up and got the last table available. The first floor has the cigars and paraphernalia to purchase. The second floor has a nice bar with plenty of seating and tables in the bar area and then lounge couches in another area. The host and our waitress were good. She checked on us regularly, took photos for us and engaged in conversation. There was a nice mixture of people. Some people were dressed up. Some people were dressed down. I Took one star away on service due to the overpriced cigars. I took one star away of the atmosphere due to ladies Beware the bathrooms are unisex so once you go through the door, you are in the bathroom with men which was very uncomfortable. I would actually recommend you change this and protect women in these personal spaces!“
