“They had a barbecue yesterday and the food was absolutely amazing. Tim and Ashley( the man and woman making and serving the food) are super friendly and fast with your order. I felt like no sooner did I order my meal , they were there handing me a plate full of hot delicious food. I would definitely recommend going there to eat on the days that Tim and Ashley are there.“

“I had dinner with my wife on Friday night. We live 2 blocks away. Normally we stop in to a have few drinks and get some apps, which are always good. Last night I tried some of the dinner choices. I couldn’t decide so I got the Seafood Gumbo which was outstanding. Then I got the Southern Fried CatFish with the mustard sauce, which was amazing. They were both big portions, (I didn’t finish either, although I tried, haha). My wife had buffalo cauliflower and dry Cajun wings which were both really good. The food is a hidden gem that we have in Palmyra, the prices are good and the service is always great. We had the young guy with hat and he was awesome. The bartenders even jump out to make sure the tables are ok. The acoustic guy playing was just right also. I know the owners have worked hard to keep 5 West going the last few years. Keep up the Great work!!“

“My husband took me out to Philly for an early Mother’s Day gift. He said we were going to a “speakeasy” type bar in Chinatown but I didn’t believe him. When we got to an iron screen door, he was like this is it and I was like you got to be kidding me. The owner came out, asked my husband if he knew it was a cash bar took our ids then went inside. The owner brought back our ids then took us inside to a foyer where he told us the rules of the bar. Cash only, absolutely, no photography and no phones. If you need to take a phone call, you go back to foyer area or outside to not disturb people. We agreed to rules and went inside. The bar was dimly lit with candles on each table. The decor was amazing with pictures and antiques on the wall. We were sat at a table and given a cocktail menu. The cocktails were unique and separated by whiskey, gin, vodka and rum. If you need a light since it is so dim in the bar, they will bring you a light because they brought one to my husband. There were no beers on the menu so if that is what you’re looking for then this isn’t the place for you. We ordered our cocktails and they were amazing. Since there is no phone usage, you have more of an intimate experience with the person you are with because you aren’t distracted by your phone. We sat and talked while drinking our drinks. The owner came over and asked us about our drinks and how we were doing. We then ordered another round of drinks and continued talking. We enjoyed our time at Hop Sing Laundromat. Service was great, bartenders were great, owner was great, and the ambiance was amazing. This is a great date night spot for anyone who wants to enjoy a intimate setting with a cocktail or two. I would post pictures but again, No Photography so you would have to go in order to see it to believe it. You will enjoy this experience and not be disappointed.“

The location offers a great variety of food as well as the iconic brews they're known for, in an open, though sometimes loud, environment. Parking options aren't great if you're not walking or Ubering, but it's the city so that's to be expected. That said, I was so happy when they took over this former commercial space and transformed it a few years ago and demonstrates how successful their brand has become and not just in the Philadelphia area!“

“We came on a whim, and were blown away by the sushi. The miso butter cod and the eel signature rolls in particular were excellent, but everything we ordered was beautifully presented and tasted incredible. Will be back next time we’re in town.

“Great bartender, incredible music selection and possibly the best burger in the city. Especially for the dollar it is the best burger. The beer list was absolutely incredible and diverse. Happy hour like everywhere in this town means two dollar off pints. Even on days like St. Patrick’s Day, they still are efficient and friendly at Fountain Porter.

Parking: It’s South Philly. You know what you’re getting into. It’s busy.

“I just joined Five Iron Fishtown and I love it. The location is great and I love the vibes of the inside. The hours are perfect as I generally go to use the simulators before work in the morning and work on my swing or play a round. I’ve also had a few lessons with Senior Golf Pro Matt Davis and I can already tell my swing has gotten better. With the technology they have and following Matt’s direction I feel like I’ll be performing a lot better once I get on an actual course. Highly recommend.“

“Just to illustrate how incredible the food and drinks are- I was broken up with at Sassafras (guy totally broke my heart), and I STILL come back whenever I get the chance, haha. I’m from out of town and occasionally work for a couple weeks a year in Philly, and I absolutely love Sassafras. I go out of my way to have at least one meal here when I’m in town. “Such an amazing view of the city! But they had a very limited menu for food. I wish there were a couple more options. Also we went in October and it got a little chilly on the roof. I was surprised that there wasn’t any heaters or blankets available to make customers comfortable. There also wasn’t any fall drinks/ warm drinks, I feel like that was a missed opportunity. Overall a nice time, but a couple things could have made it better.“

“This place is fun for a family with older teens. Several groups around us, of all adults, were having a lot of fun too. We have older teens and this was a great way to spend an evening together. The staff is the best part about this place. They are friendly and attentive. The food is basic bar fare but not bad at all, it hits the spot. The axe throwing is a good time. Our instructor was excellent and I landed way more axes than I didn’t after some instruction. The gals at the bar were super friendly. We will definitely come back each time we visit our college kiddo in Philly.“

The highlights of our meal tonight were the Au Poivre burger on special — so tender, juicy, and cooked exactly as I ordered it — and the apple walnut gorgonzola salad. I subbed in their house balsamic which is SO good with the sweet candied walnuts. HUGE chunks of high quality gorg, too. Iced tea was delicious and the lemons were clean and fresh. (This matters!)

“I went to Jet Wine bar for a Halloween movie night with a friend. They were understaffed but they still went above and beyond to take care of us. Food and drinks were excellent. We watched the movie inside even though they were only serving outside. It was so kind and really an unnecessary accommodation they made for us to enjoy our time there. “Was here in Philly celebrating a friend‘s birthday and they wanted to check out Ashton‘s, which is a pretty well-known cigar lounge in Philly. We were told that their cigars are overpriced, so to bring our own which we did, but they do have a bar and lounge area. We went on a Saturday (they do not open until four). We got there around there 530 and they were already pretty packed. We lucked up and got the last table available. The first floor has the cigars and paraphernalia to purchase. The second floor has a nice bar with plenty of seating and tables in the bar area and then lounge couches in another area. The host and our waitress were good. She checked on us regularly, took photos for us and engaged in conversation. There was a nice mixture of people. Some people were dressed up. Some people were dressed down. I Took one star away on service due to the overpriced cigars. I took one star away of the atmosphere due to ladies Beware the bathrooms are unisex so once you go through the door, you are in the bathroom with men which was very uncomfortable. I would actually recommend you change this and protect women in these personal spaces!“
