“built my first ofrenda this year and came to la jarochita in search of pan de muerto. i have been trying to honor the tradition respectfully and felt that supporting a local mexican business was the right way of doing it.

this is an authentic mexican bakery, i could tell just by walking in. the environment is very homey and welcoming, the ladies that run the front are sweet and informative.
one of the women explained to me that you grab a tray and your serve yourself the bread you want and then you take it to the counter.

so i asked for a few opinions and chose a bunch of options. i left with pan de muerto and a bunch of other pastries / bread.
it was very affordable!

everything is fresh and a lot of them are still warm fresh from the oven!
the taste is very good.
happy i came.

Parking: Park on the wrong side, and meter ops will spin the block with the quickness. Parking on the side of the business is almost always occupied, so it's best that whatever you do is quick. If parking was better, that business would sell more.

One of the reviews says the person who is the wife of a city inspector and says that this inspector found the place dirty. This is not logical or true because when that happens they close the businesses until what they find is fixed and they fine the merchants. Our and your bakery has never failed any of the city inspections since their first visit and we have never had to close our business for health reasons. As merchants we know that the competition uses these means to throw garbage at the reputation of its most successful competitors and that is unfair competition. We do not fall for that and we focus on delivering the best product and service to our customers.
