“Growing up, jelly donuts were at the bottom of my list in terms of flavors. I would eventually eat one, but it would be my last choice. A Polish coworker told me about how beloved jelly donuts are in Poland and I was skeptical of how good a jelly donut could be.

Then I found myself at Kohout Bakery and I've completely changed my tune, because damn, the raspberry jelly donuts are ridiculously good. It's the jelly. It's a very good jelly. It's not gummy or thick. It's full of raspberry flavor and there is plenty of the jelly in each donut. Even a couple of days after purchase, when the donut is a little stale, the donut is still so good because that jelly keeps the interior moist.

Other items in the store are also delicious, including the cream cheese cookies. They are not too sweet and have a great balance of flavors.

The service is very friendly and helpful, always patient with me and my indecisions.

Be prepared to bring cash, but the prices are also very affordable, so you can still get plenty of treats for under $10.

“Best Italian bread around and very reasonably priced in my opinion. Italian pastries are delicious also. Even if you don't live too close by there, it is worth a trip every once in awhile to get really good bread especially for Sunday gravy/sauce. They are open many hours so it's very convenient.“

“The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I ordered one of each of the tres leches and cuatro leches, as well as one of each flan. I also ordered the Dominican (pineapple) cake. Unfortunately, they did not have the dulce de leche Dominican cake.

Overall, I enjoyed all three Tres Leches cakes. However, I would rank the guava and strawberry varieties as my least favorites. The guava cake was sweet but lacked a distinct guava flavor. The strawberry cake tasted similar of Nestle Quik and was overly sweet.

The cuatro leches was good. It includes an additional layer of dulce de leche on top, which some may find too sweet.

The flan was average. It was a bit too thick and lacked sufficient syrup. Surprisingly, my favorite was the chocolate flan, despite not being particularly fond of chocolate.

The Dominican pineapple cake was quite disappointing. It was excessively dry and hard, lacking flavor aside from a faint hint of vanilla. I attempted to moisten it with the remaining tres leches milk, but it remained dry enough that I found myself needing a glass of milk.

I visited the store since UberEats has a huge upcharge per an item.

“Stopped in on Tłusty Czwartek for their Paczki. At 845, the line was out the door with temps in the kow30's. Kinda tells you this place is the real deal when it comes to Polish baked goods. While I waited 45 minutes on line, it was worth the wait. Knowing its a cherished holiday, ill let it slide. As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait.

In reading other reviews, I dont speak Polish and my experience was positive with no issues.“

“Wish Upon a Pastry is a great Disney Inspired bakery in NJ. Michele and Torre, the owners are so nice and great to work with. They have really unique baked goods that are all absolutely delicious. They also take special orders. They are not dedicated gluten free but they offer a lot of gluten free options that are just as delicious as their other bakery items. “Came in Friday afternoon looking for a quick coffee fix. It was around lunch time so most tables were taken, but since I was only ordering coffee I just grabbed a wall seat by the front. You order at the counter and then find a seat that’s open. I tried the maple cardamom latte and thought it was pretty good. It had a good hint of sweetness without being too overpowering. I haven’t tried any food items form them but would be open to in the future.“

My Caffè latte and sandwich were v good, the latter reminiscent of the baguettes jambon i used to enjoy in Paris, though a bit on the salty side. I also ordered a beignet which was less good, alas.

“The display in the window caught our eyes as we were heading to Chelsea Market. Their buns looked so good we decided to go in and get a couple. It smelled so good inside the shop. We tried both the cardamom and vanilla buns and were happy we did so.“

“We came on a Sunday morning and there wasn't a line. The bakery is a little stand on Palisade Ave. We ordered the bombolonis and the mozarella/prosciutto sandwich.

The bombolonis were some of the best I've ever had (even compared to the ones in Italy) - they were fresh and the vanilla pastry cream wasn't too sweet but still felt indulgent. The donut was so airy and soft. The sandwich wasn't anything to brag about, it was underwhelming unfortunately. The mozzarella was very mild but the flatbread was good; the sandwich was definitely overpriced for what it was. Wish we tried other things on the menu but was in a pinch. I will definitely be back to try the focaccia and pizza options.

Also note that there is hardly any street parking options so be sure to plan ahead! They also have various Italian products for sale such as jarred sauces and dried pasta.“
