“Really good sushi and a cute vibe on the inside. They have some pretty creative sushi options too like ones with Thai chilies and pesto?? I wasn't sure how I felt about the pesto on sushi when I tried it but I appreciate the creativity nonetheless. Would love to see one for people who really like spicy food. Also appreciate they have clear soup, one of my favs.

Parking: There's a parking lot across the street by the Walgreens you can park in if you're willing to walk a little bit“

“After a very long day, I came in get a bite to eat before I went back to traveling. The food is delicious. The staff is incredible. They will go the extra mile for you (literally). After ordering and eating entirely too much delicious food the couple who owns the restaurant gave me a ride to the bus station. The woman who served me was kind and kept me company while I was alone. Really one of the best experiences I have had in the entire state of New Jersey. Thankful for people like you.“

“The food is top notch. From the soup to the sushi. Even the ice cream is delicious. What really bothers me though is the service. There is a 90 minute time limit which I get but when you are rushed to get out by an hour that’s not right. Also when you’re hounding tables waiting to literally take a plate because you have nothing else to do that’s a problem. Finally when you’re coming up to tables and asking them for platters back because you don’t have enough supposedly that’s not good either. Last night I was hounded constantly. Twice I had people tell me to move my sushi to my paper plate because they needed the platter. May I suggest buying more platters. Love the food and yes I know I’ll be back but the service was ridiculous in your face. Don’t come here for date night because they don’t leave you alone“

“We had dinner at Matsu on Friday......its a little gem in Hillsdale. We were pleasantly surprised, by the quality and quantity of the food. The Staff went out of their way to accommodate us. They very friendly and warm. It was a most enjoyable dinner. We have ordered food to takeout but hadn't been inside the restaurant since the pandemic.... We will definitely go again soon. “Had some of the best sushi ever this afternoon. Randomly stopped in to this unassuming spot in a strip mall and wow, it was so good! If you are nearby, don't drive by without giving them a try. If you are local, you're lucky to have this in town.“

“Wow! The fish is so fresh, and buttery, comparable to omakase without the price tag.

I usually don’t order sushi in the summer considering the heat, but this spot has such high quality fish that I’ve ordered 4 times this week in 98 degree weather.

The salmon pieces melt in your mouth, I dream of them.
The tamago is perfectly done, tender, and not too sweet.

The Triple Alliance roll was my favorite. The salmon was perfectly balanced with a bit of spice, sweet eel sauce, & refreshing mango.

Saddle River roll and spicy salmon rolls were also delightful, but a bit too much crunch for my taste.

In my opinion, the dressing that came with the garden salad, not that anyone gets sushi for the salad, needed a bit more ginger and sweetness.

So excited to have found my new go to sushi spot.“

“Is it a crazy idea that this place is best in NJ? No. It’s the best!! Good fresh fish is hard to come by, even places in Ridgewood that are fancier rarely have such good fish. Been coming for 15 years even when I lived far away. It’s fairly priced. That means some will find it more expensive compared to what they experienced elsewhere. It’s well worth it!
