“Stop the presses!! I found a great new restaurant where artistry trumps slinging hash. It’s Pop Empanada, re-christened Pop Pasta Supper Club on Thursdays and Saturday nights. On those days, Chef Nicolas Pescatore prepares a 6 course meal, and even if you don’t like every course, you will appreciate the artistry and the ambition. Tonight, the courses were 1. celery avocado salad (replacing salmon, which this landlubber doesn’t like), 2. shrimp empanada in a butter curry sauce, 3. pork belly confit, 4. raviolo-soft boiled egg center in a brown butter sage sauce, 5. brisket ragu paccheri pasta, and 6. dessert of frangelica panna cotta key lime shortbread crumble. The cost with tip is around $100 per person plus the cost of your BYOB. We wouldn’t pay that cost often, but it’s a welcome break from the restaurants where kitchen staff show up at 4 PM and are ready to serve at 5pm.“

The drinks are reasonably priced and the Tres Fish Tacos are BOMB. I appreciate the fact that they choose to be a sustainable bar with their LED lighting and purchasing of carbon offsets. It's hard for bars to reduce their environmental impact so any step matters. It always seems like everyone's having a good time here- not trashy at all, just a good neighborhood bar. And they have theme nights too which is fun.“

My wife and I got a bowl and we both loved it. If you are looking for a counter style Mediterranean place to eat this is a fantastic choice! All the food is made fresh. My wife ordered pita chips and falafel on the side and both were made fresh when we ordered. The pita chips were thick and super crispy. The falafel was incredibly moist too. Highly recommend!“

I only gave 2 stars for food because despite having a collection of 3 nondairy milks (75 cent upcharge not appreciated!) there is not a single food item a vegan or person with dairy issues can eat. Also, the only place you can sit and work on a device is the big table, which is usually full. Every other sitting area has tables that are the same height or lower than the chairs/stools so really not back friendly. Service is good and nice minimalist vibe-- will be back!

Response to owner: Regarding vegan pastries, if they are indeed vegan (dairy, egg, butter honey free) then why not label them as such or at least put up a little sign that says ask us about our vegan options?“

“Popped over with my 8-year-old that “needed” a hot dog. Adorable historic spot … we were incredibly impressed with the fresh buns and the very very hot spicy chili that did not disappoint. Staff was fantastic and the line was out the door, but they knew exactly how to hustle people through. Understand why this is included on the New Jersey hotdog Trail and people need to go here!!!“

“The egg toasts were delectable! Actually so happy my sister and I chose to come by. It has a tiny kick of spice which was a pleasant surprise. My sister got the vanilla flat white coffee and she loved it and finished it so quickly. The only thing I wasn't over the
moon for was the corndog. I got the mozarella hot dog corn dog and it was okay. I wouldn't get it again.

The space is small but offers some seating indoors and outdoors. I will definitely try to come again for the egg toast specifically.“

I was here for a funeral reception, and I can’t imagine a better setting for such an occasion. On a cold, grey, and somber day, the ambiance provided a much-needed lift. It felt comfortable, welcoming, and infused with a certain lightness that made all the difference. And then there was the food—perhaps the best I’ve ever had at an event like this. As someone who is extremely picky about Italian cuisine, I was genuinely impressed. The pork chop Milanese was outstanding, the tiramisu and cannoli were perfection, and the fact that this level of quality was maintained for a catered party of 60 is even more remarkable.

Beyond the meal, the experience was enhanced by the unexpected delight of browsing through a collection of vintage fashion from legendary designers—Hermès, Chanel, Fendi, Versace, and more. It added a touch of joy and celebration that I know our departed friend would have appreciated. In fact, I can’t help but think she might have been looking down, wondering why we didn’t visit Di Palma Brothers sooner. She would have loved it.
