“The hummus was amazing! The dips have barcodes but nothing was scanned. We were told that small containers were $6 and large $9. The staff seemed nice so I don’t think we were overcharged but we’ve been up charged at certain places so we were just a little weary. We definitely stood out but staff was nice and the hummus makes you want to come back. The pastries did have prices so we tried the babka. They also have a chalkboard menu of items to order.“

“Stop the presses!! I found a great new restaurant where artistry trumps slinging hash. It’s Pop Empanada, re-christened Pop Pasta Supper Club on Thursdays and Saturday nights. On those days, Chef Nicolas Pescatore prepares a 6 course meal, and even if you don’t like every course, you will appreciate the artistry and the ambition. Tonight, the courses were 1. celery avocado salad (replacing salmon, which this landlubber doesn’t like), 2. shrimp empanada in a butter curry sauce, 3. pork belly confit, 4. raviolo-soft boiled egg center in a brown butter sage sauce, 5. brisket ragu paccheri pasta, and 6. dessert of frangelica panna cotta key lime shortbread crumble. The cost with tip is around $100 per person plus the cost of your BYOB. We wouldn’t pay that cost often, but it’s a welcome break from the restaurants where kitchen staff show up at 4 PM and are ready to serve at 5pm.“

“The food was delicious! I had the avocado fire wrap and they accommodated my request to have it without corn and cheese.

The wrap was filled with plenty of grilled chicken and bacon pieces as well as lettuce and good amount of dressing.

I had for a snack their freshly chopped mango. All was good and healthy. The price was fair for the quality of fine food served.“

After ordering and eating entirely too much delicious food the couple who owns the restaurant gave me a ride to the bus station. “I am a sushi snob and I will put Aoyu Sushi up against most sushi places in Manhattan. The quality of the fish is way better than similarly priced restaurants. Their Supreme Omakase costs $40 and it would cost $80 to get similar high quality fish like that anywhere in the city. My favorite sushi restaurant, it gets crowded at 5pm for dinner within 15 minutes of opening.“

We have lived in Hawthorne for 8 years and have passed this place so many times, so glad we stopped in tonight. “I come here every once in a while. It's quite nice, the food is really good and reasonably priced. They also have a nice selection of gluten-free menu options. I'm not gluten-free, but recently, it's been something I look out for and notice because I love someone who is Celiac. Most recently, I came for my birthday, and they were able to modify items on the menu to custom create what I was looking for! (always a plus)

“I went there with my 2 sisters and their husbands for dinner. The dining area was very inviting. We got a table by the window which was nice but as the crowd grew the noise level got really bad. The service was good and the waiter knew his stuff. The portions are large but the shrimps were cold and my med rare lamb was well done. We sent the shrimp back to reheat. The funny thing was that as soon as my wife lifted her plate the waiter said , oh not hot enough. Did overall was just okay. Desert menu was small but okay. Not a I’m running back restaurant“

“Our family and friends had dinner at Fino Christmas Eve. If I could give them 10 stars I would. They were totally booked, yet service was fabulous. The waiters worked together as if each movement was rehearsed. The food came out with perfect timing and each dish was outstanding. This was not our first time at Fino. Every time we have dined there has been a wonderful experience. If you want an outstanding dining experience, I suggest Fino. The food is wonderful, and all the waiters have great personalities and are truly a professional team.“
