We had just returned from Italy and were reminiscing with some friends about the food and how it compared to the freshness of the meals at Sunday gravy. But toward the end of the meal you could tell we were being rushed… and then the hostess confirmed that our bill was paid and then actually asked us to leave 😳. Because she had tables waiting. How embarrassing and disappointing. No where on the online reservation did it say we had a time limit.“

The cheesesteak was flavorful and fresh, and the fries were crispy and so good! The service was just as wonderful as the food. My waitress was so sweet, kind, and attentive. The service was fast, made me feel welcome too! The restaurant itself was super cute — beautifully decorated, very clean, and such a pretty atmosphere. “All said and done I think this is the best deal on the boardwalk. Their price and food speaks for itself. You order up front and sit down and pick up your food when it comes out. They cut out the wait staff and it’s pretty efficient and also keeps the price down in the end. There’s been a lot of people saying this pizza was the best deal on the boardwalk for the summer of 2026. I finally gave it another chance after trying it many years ago. This place definitely is satisfactory. The only improvement I can suggest is when you serve Pepsi products, Birch beer has to be an option. It’s at just about every other Pepsi serving restaurant on the boardwalk. Birch beer by Pepsi is delicious and quite popular everywhere else and seeing they served Pepsi products and finding out they don’t serve birch beer like every other restaurant that serves Pepsi, was disappointing. But far from enough to keep me from giving less than a 5 star review. The place is pretty darn good in such times and they have definitely improved a lot since my first time there.“

“Last night was our 1st time there, and I must say, it was OUTSTANDING. We had chicken Parm, 9th street chicken, Veal Milanese, and Linguini w/chicken. All dishes had excellent presentation, very hot and huge! Food was delicious. Atmosphere was a bit tight and loud especially if you want to have a conversation, but overall we really enjoyed it. We will be going back and recommending this restaurant. Going to try the Pizza as that looked great!“

“Really good! Late afternoon meal and only had lunch food but all was super good. I consider myself a Burger officianado and the Hitzel burger was incredible. Fries had awesome seasoning. The small stromboli was huge. Staff was super friendly. We stopped there because it is a byob and a favorite brewery of mine is only 50 yards away so had some fresh brew with a great meal.“

“This new Italian restaurant in Mays Landing is fabulous. The food and presentation were excellent, the atmosphere was appealing, and the service was caring.

My wife and I had the chopped salad and butternut squash ravioli as appetizers. Both were unique and delicious, and their presentation was exactly like the pictures.

Our entrees were shellfish pomodoro and linguini with clams. The pasta was homemade and the sauce perfectly spiced. The shellfish was fresh and extremely tasty. We cannot wait to try other entrees.

We strongly urge you to try Carmella’s. You will be pleased with the experience.“
