“The best chimi I’ve had. The meat is exceptionally seasoned, you can taste the oregano and tartness from the lime or vinegar, and it’s perfect on salt. Whoever thought on putting it on a brioche bun, it’s a genius.

Don’t sleep on the picadera too! The pork carne salada is so good and they put wasakaka sauce all over the meat. The tostones are not drowned in oil and are so crispy.

The only shame is that I live 45 minutes away and can’t eat here more often. But whenever I’m in Perth Amboy, I grab a chimi from here.“

“Stopped by for breakfast, traditional mangu, onions, fried cheese, salami, fried egg. Flavor 10/10 the mangu was so smooth melt in your mouth texture. I’m glad I stoppped by. They only gave me one slice of salami tho wish I had two but that’s just me being greedy it’s more than enough food for 1 person“

“We were on our way out of Perth Amboy after a church service. It was late and we were driving around looking for something good to eat before heading back to south Jersey! Everything was closed! Finally we drive by this place that looked open! I’m so glad we stopped by! From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed by the young woman up front who walked us through the menu since our spanish is “no good looking” . She took her time , we didn’t feel rushed and she even gave us her personal recommendations! I chose the mofongo with chicharron and my cousin got the plantain sandwich with chicken! *chefs kiss * 10/10 . The staff were alll so kind to us . The gentleman , (not sure if he was the owner) , he talked with us for a few minutes and we really felt comfortable and welcomed! I’ve already shared this place with my family and friends! Can’t wait to return !“

“Great spot. The woman employee with the orange hair is actually extremely rude. She always has an attitude. When asking me what i wanted to eat, there was a huge glass separating us. Im telling her what id like and shes shaking her head, giving me an attitude, pointing at things aggressively and makong me almost feel stupid for asking what was what. “I had been coming since 2021 the food is delicious! I did notice the prices went up a bit, I like how you can come in and pick whatever you want to eat for a quick bite of hardy food. It's already made and they have my favorite all time starch Yuca w red onion! 😋 Sometimes I have to speak a little Spanish to tell them what I want but the cashier is very patient with me and nice. You ALWAYS get your money worth because they give you a lot of food.

“If you are Dominican, don't look to the side, you are in the wrong place, the attention is incredible, the food and the chimis are great, the only bad thing is that they don't have bathrooms, they tell you that the beggars outside use them and that's why reason you can't use it, but going to a food place without bathrooms is crazy, SUPER NEGATIVE“

“Love the food here they definitely give ample food for the money. Dining area is rather small I always do take-out. Food is served tray line style so you're able to see and select your menu items. It can get very busy at times due to the small serving area where there's usually only one person taking orders.“

“Best cheap food, haven't had any major issues except a couple mistakes sometimes but very rare. For those that care about them not using gloves, they wash their hands and barely touch the foods with their hands - I never tasted anything bad or gotten sick from it. This place was cheaper before the quarantine but only went up a couple cents. Went here for at least 3 years now.“

“The food is absolutely delicious and well seasoned. The staff is extremely friendly and courteous. I love the steak, pernil, carne frita and arroz con gandules. I make it a point to stop by whenever I am in the area. Try them out you too will love it.“

“Really well seasoned, good food.
You know how you go to some restaurants & you end up having to add seasoning to their food. Not so with any of the dishes here & I’ve had a least four different dishes. My favorites are the pepper steak & rice, and the Shrimp Alfredo.
Only draw back is that a couple of times they put too much juice w/pepper steak..it’s to greasy. That’s why four stars instead of 5.
Just tell them don’t add the juice.

Parking: The parking lot is small, most time we’ve gone there was a spot.

“Delicious food after a few too many drinks at a bar/disco. Dominican/Cuban/Puerto Rican food. We ordered patacon, dominican chimi and a $30 picadera (you choose what you want your picadera to have: we chose chuleta (pork chops) pollo frito (fried chicken) queso frito (fried cheese) orejita (fried pork ears) and longaniza (dominican sausage, with tostones (fried plantains) and batata frita (japanese sweet potato).
Place was clean, ladies were nice and friendly, and place is open late, which is an ideal option to go after drinks to avoid a hangover.“
