“The best decision I made was to order the half chicken instead of the quarter. Cooked fresh to order, bursting with flavor and a healthy meal what more could you want. Know before you go - the restaurant doesn’t look like much and because the food is cooked to order call ahead or be prepared to wait 20 minutes.Absolutely recommend for something different, delicious and affordable. Will be back soon!“

“Wonderful experience. We had no idea what to order, so Modupe (the owner) surprised us. I only wish I could have eaten more! My daughter who can be picky was so happy with her shrimp and fries that she drew Modupe a picture. Highly recommend!!“

“I’m from NY and recently moved to NJ. Where I live in NJ there’s not much African stores so I normally just go to NY when I need something. Today I was in the union area to pick up something from Lowe’s and decided to looked up African stores near me and came across this store. The store is neat, clean, and very organized. There’s a broad selection and was able to find what I was looking for. Also they provided excellent customer service.“

“For starters, let me just state that this was my first time ever eating African food. I had okra, white rice, and debie. This eatery was highly recommended by a friend, and it was delicious. However, the person cooking was really unpleasant when I returned alone one day, and I nearly decided not to return even though I was really craving it. I returned to give it one last try, and I'm glad I did because I visit this place nearly every week. The individual I interacted with during this interaction was really kind and supportive. I haven't tried anything else on the menu, but the white rice and okra combination is AMAZING. The best part is that there is a lot of food and it is quite reasonably priced.“

“I started visiting this restaurant about a year ago after trying every Nigerian restaurant in Newark and surrounding towns. My husband has an eclectic palate and so far most restaurants have been a miss. I bought the banga soup with the catfish head and it was soo good, it broke my heart to share it with my husband. After that I tried the edikidikang soup and it was a hit with my husband. I love the different soups every day..bitterleaf, egusi, vegetable is a hit with him too. We ordered jollof and fried rice for my baby shower. It is my go to for food now. I absolutely love the moi moi and akara. The staff recognize me and are very helpful and efficient. There is a sit down area but I do strictly takeout because I am always running errands. They close at 7pm and not open on weekends and I respect that because the food is always fresh.“

I love the fact they have special soups for everyday of the week…Mon-Fri and they all taste amazing. I do recommend their Efo-Riro you can never go wrong with that meal. And their Jollof Rice is practically the best Jollof in Newark. Don’t argue with me argue with your mother oooo.
