“I have been a patron here for years. I have had countless dinners and family celebrations here. I especially enjoy the outdoor space. Entertainment outside is just right. The atmosphere can't be better. When it's cold, there's several heaters to keep it cozy. Inside there are several dining rooms. I have had parties Inside too! The food is delicious. I have had just about everything on the menu. Some of my favorites are the clams and chorizo appetizers and the pork osso bucco entre. They also make their own bread! It's awesome. The staff is polite. The service is great. Plenty of parking.“

“2/23/24: The Stanhope House dates back to 1798! It's like the all time Great American Road House. A group of us came put to support our friend's friend BD Lentz- blues guitarist. What an amazing show BD and his other accompanying musicians put on! The venue had phenomenal acoustics. Many of us were on the dance floor getting down. Many of the GREATS like Buddy Guy, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Johnny Winter... have performed here. A basic bar menu is available. We had Beer, Pinot Noir, Cesar Salad, Sweet Potato Fries and Coconut Shrimp. All the food was pretty decent. The entire staff is very friendly. Parking is available in back of the building. "Presently , there's been a lot of talk about tearing this great historic place down. “We held my sister’s bridal shower here & we are all blown away at how great a experience we had. From start to finish Tracey & Liz assisted us with all the planning, & were super responsive to my emails. The day of, Tracey & our servers were so kind & helpful with everything. Everyone loved the food & the cake was delicious too! Thank you so much for making my sister feel special on her special day! Will hopefully come in the future for a regular dinner or lunch just to have Chef Andre’s food again!“

“Love this place! It is BYOB or you can order a bottle of wine. They do not serve by the glass or have any other alcohol. They have a chefs tasting menu in addition to the 3 or 5 course meal. You may have to ask for it, but it's worth it! Food is always phenomenal.“

“I finally got to Andy's after everyone telling me I had to try it out. I was not disappointed! If you are a fan of hotdogs, you must try what Andy has to offer. I tried The Pig Dog and a new option that wasn't even on the menu yet. He warned me it would be a LOT of food and he wasn't kidding, but it was so good I managed to finish it all. The food was very flavorful and not overpowered with salt. The buffalo chicken egg roll was delicious. My little one enjoyed the mac n cheese with a grilled cheese (just cheddar). I ate some of her meal too! LOL. I had the meatloaf with mash and gravy and sauteed green beans. This entree hit the spot. My husband had the chicken tenders and fries. The tenders were lightly coated and seasoned just enough. Now I know when people hear GF dessert, they're turned off. Nope, the GF Black and white cake for dessert was very moist, lightly sweetened, and delicious. This place was fantastic. I will return and recommend that you try it.“

“While being in the area, decided to stop there for lunch. Local food was good, they had a very decent beer. The view on the lake was extraordinary and in some sense, quite soothing. Prices were decent and service up to par. I'll make sure to stop there if I am ever in the area again.“

“Gatwyns II is a very good neighborhood restaurant/ bar. The food (Portuguese Mussels and Pizza) are great but the beer choices are very poor. Lack of attention from the bar tender can be too frequent but the table service is strong. Definitely recommended, some areas could use improvement but generally happy with this place.“

Not only are they extremely polite with wonderful customer service skills, they are fast and efficient and keep the entire flow of people moving which is crucial to the operation of the entire restaurant. The Salmon though was over cooked. Sides were fine though the vegetables were a mix of warm and cold. Service was great. Nice people.“

“Stopped here after church and was pleasantly surprised. The owner greeted us and sat us immediately. You can genuinely see his care and pride in the restaurant. The service was outstanding. Our daughter was the only child there but they all fussed over her. We really appreciated that. They also made menu modifications for her with no issues. We all loved our food. Portions were plenty and we all brought home some leftovers. Oh and get the beets if you are a beet person. They were fantastic!“

“Wow. The Black River Barn has outdone themselves again. What I remember growing up is an older pub feel with ok food, that has changed. It's now the most reasonably priced, delicious, kid and adult friendly food in a good part of Northern NJ. The atmosphere is palpable and full of life. Everyone loves their service, food, and drinks along with the prices. Can't say enough good about a restaurant I once wrote off as an older crowd. All she lent me was half a wing in fear that she would run out of chicken too fast. Our server, I never got her name as she was also bartending / changing the lives of men and women who were experiencing the saloon, was nothing short of a messenger of God. Bringing food and drinks promptly and kindly and ensuring we did not faint out of pure bliss during our dining experience. All humans must enter this establishment and order a cheboygah. This is the only way to have the best in the universe. It will ruin all other boygahs for you at every place you ever get one. The fact that it comes with fresh cuts fried to superior excellence elevates your situation beyond your wildest dreams. Life begins anew when you leave here. The most difficult part was deciding between so many delicious choices. Add to that delicious fresh food and you have a winner. Tonight we had fresh large shrimps with a most delicious home made cocktail sauce. “Lakeside tavern is a great place to go! The bartenders are amazing. Michele is my favorite to visit every time I go. The line dancing every week is so much fun! It’s great when they have entertainment. They really should charge a cover charge because you’re getting a lot. Because of this, l always associated Friendly’s with happy times and have a deep affection for the chain. I understand the intervening years since the 1980’s have not been kind to the company, but they continue on and so do we. Tonight my wife and l had dinner here. The food was simple and tasty just as it’s always been. Our server, Lis, was a delightful young woman, pleasant and efficient and on point. And what trip to Friendly’s would be complete without some ice cream? That l can enjoy a meal and the same Reese’s Pieces sundae l remember 40 years later pleases me immensely. I do hope Friendly’s can pull off a turn around. It would be a shame for this piece of Americana to vanish.
