“I live in Sparta and I visited for the first time yesterday for brunch with my friend, and Alice's did not disappoint. I was not aware we needed a reservation but they were able to get us in anyway which I appreciated after driving all the way there. I am a vegan and I struggle with finding places locally that accommodate that isn't plain avocado toast. I was so impressed when I saw vegan french toast on the brunch menu. To top it off, it was DELICIOUS. We also got mimosas and bellinis and our server was always checking on us and we never felt rushed. The views are also beautiful. I will continue coming back, and tell everyone I know. Thank you Alice's for being a fresh of breath air with the menu that accommodates all.“

“Came for dinner with another couple. The tapas eggplant was delicious, light and flavorful. Just lovely. We had two burgers and two steaks. All delicious and perfectly cooked. Service was excellent and the restaurant is beautiful, however, there is a huge bar in the middle of the restaurant. Which normally would not be an issue but this evening four young women were “working” the older men sitting at the bar. It became clear as the evening progressed that this was going on. None of us could believe what was happening right next to our table!! As the targeted men left the bar the young women quickly moved on to their next victims. It was all very obvious and pretty repulsive. Such a shame to have this type of thing happening in a lovely restaurant. I would hope management will be alerted by the bartenders that their establishment has become prey for this type of behavior. Quite unsettling.“

“We recently hosted a retirement party here, and the experience exceeded all expectations. Michelle went completely above and beyond with the decorations. She asked about our theme and color scheme beforehand and incorporated them into every detail of the room. We actually brought our own decorations and ended up not using most of them because she had already done so much to make the space look beautiful and personalized.

The food was plentiful and absolutely delicious. Everything was presented with the elegance and attention to detail you'd expect at a high-end wedding rather than a typical party. Our guests were genuinely impressed.

The staff was incredibly attentive throughout the event, making sure everyone was taken care of. John behind the bar was especially welcoming and fun, creating unique and delicious drinks that our guests loved.

The private event room is fantastic, complete with its own bar and bathrooms, making it comfortable and convenient for guests. And the panoramic view of Lake Hopatcong is simply unbeatable.

“We had our small wedding at Andre's this past weekend, and I am still in awe of how fantastic the event was. Tracey is an all-star. From coordinating calls, decorating our table, marrying us, to keeping us on schedule. Andre had our whole group raving about how great the food was. From the appetizers to the cake, we really couldn't have asked for better. On top of it all, the location is STUNNING! The staff helping to serve us were so friendly and pleasant and together they all helped make sure our wedding day was the best day of our life. “We celebrated a milestone birthday in the dining area next to the terrace with delicious food and great service. The bar had a large selection of beer, wine had a dozen options, plus mixed drinks. The staff let me taste a couple beers before I chose one to go with my calamari appetizer which was very large and well prepared. I do think the standout appetizer was the tuna which had an amazing citrus flavor. For my main I had the sea bass while most of the others had streaks. I thought it was delicious and the rice delicious. Maybe a tad too much butter for me, but no complaints. I skipped desert but the chocolate cake and apple tarts looked amazing. Service was top notch, my water glass was consistently filled and the staff present but not too much so. A great late afternoon dining experience.“

“We had such an amazing experience at The Second Half on Main this weekend. We called for a reservation for 7 people on a Saturday night, and they were beyond accommodating. They took us in just 30 minutes before closing and never once made us feel rushed, which honestly says a lot because most places start stacking chairs and spiritually evicting you the second the clock hits closing time.

The food was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. We ordered French onion soups, a Caesar salad for the table, calamari, and everyone got different entrees and drinks. Every single thing was delicious. Not one complaint from anyone at the table, which for a group of humans is basically a statistical miracle.

Our waiter Mike, aka “Buckets,” was incredible the entire night. He never stopped moving, stayed on top of everything, and still made time to go around wishing other tables a Happy Mother’s Day, which was genuinely very sweet to see. You could tell he was working his ass off, but he never stopped smiling and made the whole experience even better. Another gentleman helping him named Matt was also fantastic and super attentive.

We will 100% be back and honestly cannot wait to see everyone again. We’re even considering using them for our friend’s bridal shower this winter because the service, atmosphere, and food were all that good. Highly recommend!“

“We held my mother and her twin brother’s 75th birthday in the Patio Room on Friday evening. Everything was perfect. The food was wonderful. Everyone was stuffed! My favorite was the shrimp and scallops, my husband’s couldn’t get enough of the prime rib! Jonathan and his team took such great care of us. He was so attentive. I have no idea how he remembered what everyone was drinking because we were getting up and mingling, but he managed to make sure everyone had a drink in their hand. Being next to the pizza oven when it was below freezing made it so cozy! I would absolutely recommend Cinders; a great time was had by all.“

“Nice bar restaurant at the end of a round. We were there on a Wednesday and it was empty. We order BBQ knowing that it was not going to be fresh as the grills were not going. That said the brisket and pulled port were still good. The sweet potato fries were good as well. Little crispy. We both should have order the bbq souce on the side. Too much on for our taste but we should have asked. Great bar with a large selection of whiskey and bourbon. Service was great too. I would go back. Like to see how it is when it’s fresh.“
