“From out of town, stayed in the area and tried it one evening. Customer service was top-notch! I was expecting a place where you order at the counter and that is the end of the interaction with staff, but they came to our table multiple times and made sure we had everything we needed. Food was awesome and you get so much for the price. I ordered the BBQ wings and my bf ordered the picanha steak and they were both great. Definitely recommend.“

The food was just the right portion and extremely tasty. This is just far enough outside of Times Square that it doesn’t seem to be overly crowded with tourists so eating dinner here is manageable.“

“Small place ran by a lovely couple with all the signature classic Romanian dishes! This place is a complete hidden gem! The eggplant salad starter is just like my grandmother and mother make, the meats are excellent - portion sizes are huge and everything tastes like a solid Romanian place on my visits to Romania. The star today was the Papanasi - a classic Romanian cheese donut! One of the best I had ever! Highly recommended! Will definitely come again!“

“I recently stopped by Hudson Smokehouse in the Bronx and ordered the brisket, turkey, mac & cheese, and baked beans.
The brisket was the standout: tender, properly smoked, and sliced thick enough to hold its structure without drying out. It had a deep, smoky flavor without being overpowered by sauce. The smoked turkey was equally impressive—juicy, well-seasoned, and a great lighter counterpoint to the brisket.
On the sides, the mac & cheese was rich and comforting with a solid balance of creaminess and bite, while the baked beans had good depth—slightly sweet, slightly savory, and clearly simmered with care rather than treated as an afterthought.
Service was friendly and efficient, and the overall atmosphere felt casual and unpretentious—exactly what you want when the focus is on the food. If you’re looking for reliable, well-executed barbecue in the Bronx, Hudson Smokehouse is absolutely worth a visit.“

“I recently visited Yangji, a fantastic lamb skewer restaurant. The skewers are perfectly seasoned and cooked, full of flavor every time. The staff are super friendly and attentive, making the whole experience even better. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, perfect for enjoying great food with friends or family. “My fiance and I came here the other day. The food was incredible, it was our first time trying KBBQ and we had such a great experience! The service was great all the staff was super nice (our waiter Joseph was super kind!) the power went out due to a snow storm mid meal & we still felt well taken care of (plenty of candles and servers around). I would recommend trying this place!!:) The hanger steak & marinated short rib were out favorites !“

“I’m something of a BBQ critic having grown up in the South and lived there for 40 or so years and I’ve had some bad pork experiences in NYC. So much so that I’ve told my friends, “NYC does every type of cuisine well EXCEPT BBQ” I respectfully retract that statement after having AU Jus’ SUPERB pulled pork sandwich this evening. I’m going to have to join a 12 step program to stop myself from eating it every day. So good it’ll make your tongue slap your brains out.“

“Mother and daughter day trip to the area. We took a chance and decided to try The Pitt for a late lunch. Wonderful and surprising exoerience. Small place with a big heart!
The gentleman there was obviously a neighborhood treasure. Customer after customer came in and engaged in short but thoughtful banter. He was friendly and made us feel welcomed.
The food was very good! The service was kind, thoughtful and genuine. The atmosphere was warm and homey. Definitely more of a take out or dine and go quick spot with limited seating.
We had the pulled pork sandwich and brisket on a biscuit. You pay for the sides. Coleslaw was included. We got chocolate chip cookies to share. Pricey but delish!
Parking was free and right in front. I have a feeling that parking may vary at different times of day.“

But somehow the service was even better. Shoutout to Stella, our server, who absolutely made the night. Attentive, friendly, funny, and on top of everything without ever hovering. She handled our table like a pro and cooked some of our food for us too! , even while I was clearly having the time of my life and probably making a bit of a spectacle of myself. “I had such a great experience at Columbia BBQ Restaurant & Bar! I stopped in during my lunch break and everything was absolutely delicious.
I ordered the shrimp in garlic sauce, which was packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. It came with yellow rice, pinto beans, and fresh avocado, and the whole plate was seasoned just right — comforting, filling, and fresh. I also had a passion fruit margarita with sugar on the rim, and it was AMAZING — sweet, tropical, and super refreshing.
My friend had the beef steak with onions, also served with yellow rice, pinto beans, and avocado, and he loved it. The steak was tender and well-seasoned. He paired it with a gin and tonic, which was made perfectly.
What really made the visit special was the owner, who personally served us. She was so friendly and attentive, and you could tell she really cares about her customers and the food.
Great service, great drinks, and seriously flavorful food. We’ll definitely be back!“

“This unassuming takeout spot consistently delivers friendly service, a well-priced menu, and most importantly, delicious food.
While the atmosphere is casual, the food is anything but. We often call ahead to place our orders and pick them up, although their delivery service is also an option. Expect a 15-20 minute wait for your order to be prepared.
The generous portions are perfect for sharing, and we highly recommend trying their fried chicken, spam musubi, Hawaiian chicken, chicken and broccoli, and sesame noodles.
*Note that during busy periods, getting through on the phone can sometimes be challenging.

“My friend was shocked that I’m giving 4 stars after I complained to him.But although my jaws indeed were sore after chewing through a full portion of poppers, and the blooming onion sauce did not taste match my memories of youth, how could I possibly give less than 4 stars to a restaurant that I’d die for as a teenager?“
