“I have been to Bistro Taino several times including for a special birthday dinner and it never disappoints. Tonight I went with some coworkers and as always everything was so good. We shared the crabmeat empanadas and each had the bifongo as entrees with chicken, steak, and seafood. We also shared the coconut tembleque for dessert. Special shout out to our server, Arianni, she was amazing! Friendly, attentive, and personable. Great service, food and ambiance, can’t ask for more. Thank you Bistro Taino for always making it a great experience.“

“I think it might be quicker to take a taxi to JFK, fly to Puerto Rico, eat at a lechonera, and fly back, than it is to get served here! All joking aside 🤣 the lines are long, but man, best Lechon I have had outside of Puerto Rico! It is super flavorful and the skin is CRISPY! The owner is very kind, and he makes us Boricuas proud! 💪🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷 I love the Salsa music and Hector Lavoe playing out there, and the feel is the authentic Nuyorican feel! I absolutely recommend this place 10 out of 10! Arriba Puerto Rico! 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷“

“Came here a few days ago for drinks and the experience was wonderful. I had never had a guanabana frozen margarita before and it was delicious and so was the food. The bartender Shalamar was attentive and helpful when I didn’t know what to choose because they had so many options that I had never tried before, so I would highly recommend this place.“

“Spanish soul food lovers, if you're looking for morcilla, this is the best in bklyn. Perfectly seasoned. Reasonably priced. They also have an excellent tripe soup, chicken soup, rice & peas, roast chicken, roast pork, and more. I always stop by when I'm in the neighborhood.“

“Great food and service. Just moved here in the area and all I want is Spanish good for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Everything’s well done and juicy! (Pause) I recommend boneless chicken, white rice, red beans and salad. In the morning mungu, cheese, salami and eggs or a sandwich.“

“I would've given it 5 Stars because we had a great time with the fabulous DJ spins. Fun! I had arroz con pollo which was very good and had the coconut flan which did not taste the coconut and want as good as I would think. We had an issue with the waitresses way of attending the table. Not friendly at all and tried to charge us $16 for a drink that stayed $14 on the menu. I thought it was an error until she said that drink has 4 liquors,. I explained that it didn't matter if there were 10 liquors in the drink, when your menu states differently that's what you charge. Hope the manager or owner has a talk with her to be friendlier. Also no coffee which is weird being that it's Latin.“

“The pasteles were delicious! I took a chance since I saw this add first on Facebook and I was not disappointed. They deliver to NJ at an additional cost. Los pasteles muy ricos!! Me tomé un chance ya que fue en Facebook y sabemos que cualquiera cosa puede suceder y valió la pena. Ellos hacen delivery a NJ a un costo additional. Definitivamente vuelvo a ordenar. Ordené de yuca con pollo y plátano con pollo. Me llegaron 2 de yuca con pernil y también estaban delicioso!“

“Havent been here in years (15+ years) and was in town and decided to stop in like I used to years ago before heading back out of town to go home and was kind of disappointed that the food is nothing like I remembered it to be. It was just cold and no flavor.“

“Their chai pancakes were one of my favorite things from my trip. Vegan options are clearly marked, and they have a little market along with locally made art for sale. It’s a renovated church and has a cool community feel to it. Updated from previous review on 2026-01-18“

“This spot has all the vibes of what this neighborhood used to be when bustling with small local shops, Latin food and that loud nyc street wonderfulness. Still has the same cuchifrito vibes as we remember from back in the day.
I usually eat in or take out but always met with friendliness and helpful lovely women that remember your last visit and ask how the family is. They have platter deals and small take away items like alcapurrias. We usually get rice, beans and pernil, or the chicken. But I do like their steak and onions though that is cooked to order.
The down sides are no bathroom, and no AC, so the summer feels like an over in there.“

“We hadn't been here in a while. Looked forward. Start positive: White rice, red beans, and arroz con gandules, very good. However, on a Friday evening (7ish) , there was only 1 server for the entire section. It was not crowded. Empty tables in our section. We placed our orders right away with drinks and an appetizer. We waited more than 30 minutes for our drinks and appetizer. Appetizer never arrived, but our main courses (both the same) did. The fried pork chops were overly cooked - dried excessively. They were more like fried pork chunks. Difficult to eat. Knife had a difficult time cutting the meat. Margarita was subpar at best. Management needs to step up. I am a strong supporter of local restaurants, especially Puerto Rican/Latino establishments. This restaurant is an East Harlem icon. Overall: disappointed.“

“The food is very good, the owner is very nice person, the guys from the delibre are very good person but the person who works in the afternoon and a skinny one there talk to you as if you were a dog, you ask for chicken and they send you goat, you ask for oatmeal and They send you a mess of coffee but if they manage to send you what you really ordered the place is 5 stars“

“Since the most rated diners were like a 30 minute walk from Hoboken’s train station I would definitely recommend this place if you need something quick and nearby. I love Hispanic food, but this food was perfect! I got their breakfast French toast and my sister got their pancakes. I swear these typical sweet/bread type breakfast foods are not my thing yet the way they made them tasted so different and flavorful, for me this was unique. There Cuban empanadas are very savory, especially with the sauces they provide. My only critique is that lemonade, as it’s very bitter bc it had lime and it’s not sweet at all. The lemonade is $7.30 with card, and my meal was $9.99. Our server was very sweet, I would recommend coming here to have sweet/savory options met here. Also to me breakfast here is very affordable because with me and my sisters (3 people) our bill came to $56 with card, so most places in Hoboken are pricey but this place can offer what you need at an affordable price.“

“Yesterday, we made a brief stop to grab a quick bite, but following a conversation with the owner of this notable establishment, we opted to sit down and savor the cuisine. The setting felt like stepping into our grandmother's kitchen, with the mofongo boasting a crispy exterior and a soft, moist interior, paired with a side of beef broth that complemented it remarkably well. The fried offerings were delectable without being greasy. The crab rice was truly exceptional, presented in a crab shell for added drama. The culinary experience and customer service, provided by the staff and the owner, were outstanding. We felt at home, surrounded by exceptional Puerto Rican hospitality. As natives of Connecticut, we would willingly drive two and a half hours to dine there again.“
