“This is our go-to Italian food spot! We are lucky to live close by (less than half a mile). Joe’s is always consistent, prompt, friendly staff & amazing food! We love their pizza slices (my fave is the upside down slice & the Sicilian but the slices vary and are all good). Also, don’t overlook their amazing Italian dishes on the menu! I HIGHLY recommend their pasta dishes. A few of our faves- Pasta w/ Vodka Sauce, Gnocchi Calabria, Pasta Bolognese. If you like Garlic Knots, ORDER THEM HERE. I grew up with an Italian mother, have been to Italy a few times, & think I’m a pretty decent judge of pizza / pasta / sauce/gravy! “I tried this place after discovering it next door to a nail salon I was at. It's a Market/ bar/ restaurant. I was greeted by the hostess on a busy Friday night. There was a pizza bar, but my husband and I sat at a table. The atmosphere was lively and there was a band playing in the market area. The Ranger game was on with other tv's playing other sports as well. We started with the wood fired pizza. Fantastic!!! Then the Romaine wedge, which perfect for sharing. It had 2 large pieces of thick cut bacon and a nice balsamic dressing. We tried several items on the menu. The veal parm was very good. I had chicken marsala and we tasted the braciole. We have been back several times since our first discovery. So far I have not had one disappointing meal. The staff has been very accommodating and the vibe is a mix between date night and a gathering of friends and locals. I would recommend this place for the outstanding menu and attentive staff!! “I've never had pizza that tasted like it did ever before. It was almost novel at first, the sweetness of the pie. But as I kept eating, the bites got better and better. Our large pie was finished in about 10 minutes, maybe less! And the shrimp cocktail was on point too. Was easy to get a seat at the Lima bean shaped bar. It was fun to sit like that. It is one of those places whereby you might be having a difficult day only to have that change by the hospitality and quality of food. “My wife found this spot and it was fantastic. We tried the Detroit style pizza with salami, honey, basil and sauce and it was amazing. The best pizza I ever had. The service was great as well, we had a nice waitress who was very helpful in choosing a pie. Atmosphere was pretty cool for a pizzeria with funny signs and nice people. Only thing is that it’s a little tight and you may be sitting very next to people where you can easily overhear conversations. However, this was also cool because we got to see what others were eating and you can talk and meet new people.“

I ordered a large eggplant sandwich to go. It costs about $11. The roll was 14 inches long. The eggplant skin was removed, lightly fried and then baked to a creamy softness. I didn't want mozzarella so I had red sauce. The older Italian couple that run the place make their own sauce and mozzarella. The sandwich was delicious and can easily feel two. Limited table seating. Mostly take out. Recommend.“

Their crust is light and thin and fresh dough.You can tell it’s old dough when the crust is so chewy and dry that you have to dunk it in ranch dressing, like Ampara on Route 88, which is hit or miss.Their garlic knots are wonderful, fresh and not dry, like New Corner in Red Bank or overly soaked in oil, like Chiafullo in Middletown. The accompanying sauce has flavor and not bland like most.Their pies actually have plenty of toppings. A pepperoni pizza actually has the whole pie covered with pepperoni so you don’t get just a slice on your slice like many others. Also their chicken pies are loaded with chicken, not sparsely spread like so many others.It’s not surprising that they have a line of tickets hanging on a Friday night.My new favorite pizza place when I don’t have the time to make my own. :)“

There were 4 of us and we ordered 2 chicken parm dinners and two linguine and white clams sauce. All the dinners were great. The clams were nice and large. The one complaint that we have about this restaurant is that it is very loud. The acoustics are not good and they had music piped in that was too loud. It makes it difficult to have a conversation at the table without screaming at each other. It is the one reason we don't go here more often.“
