“i love this place! this is my neighborhood spot--truly has some of the best bartenders in the city and a diverse clientele. i've had many, many interesting conversations here with both staff and patrons and have also met many new friends. and they serve their citywide ($5) (which they invented btw) with a PBR ($3 a can), which is the superior choice.
i'm a single woman and usually go to this bar alone. whenever i've had problems with men here (happens from time to time, not the bar's fault), the bartenders have ALWAYS had my back (shout out to my girl, Kelly!!) both of the doormen do an excellent job of keeping things safe and in control inside the bar too.
the food from their restaurant next door is exactly what you need after a night of drinking, and the events B&B holds are the shit. they have the best karaoke night in the city, and the drag night is absolutely worth checking out. the live music and dj's also never disappoint. and during football season, they have the games on (go birds!)
it's a classic dive bar, maybe one of THE dives in the city. a MUST visit for any dedicated PBR-head. 10/10. oh! and also the bathrooms are clean!!!! what more could you want??
ps. it's cash only but there is an atm inside“

“Yards is fantastic! Great food and great beer! Best brewery in Philly!
Bartenders are always on top and make sure they check in on you.
You have to get the chicken cheesesteak!! Pair that with a brawler and you're set!
Definitely check out Yards if you are in Philly or visiting.“

“We came on a whim, and were blown away by the sushi. The miso butter cod and the eel signature rolls in particular were excellent, but everything we ordered was beautifully presented and tasted incredible. Will be back next time we’re in town.
Vegetarian options: The vegetarian portion of the menu is comparatively small, but the options look tasty“

“Cute spot for a drink. Interesting mix of drink options and prices were quite reasonable for the area. The seating is a bit limited but we were lucky enough to grab a seat right by the bar. Bartenders were super friendly and quick. Didn't get any food but the sandwiches around us looked interesting and would consider coming back to try these.“

“A neighborhood institution for good reason. The food is good and the feel of the the New Wave is enhanced by a nearly endless collection of autographed photos, magazine covers and LP jackets of both local and global sport and entertainment personalities.“
“I just joined Five Iron Fishtown and I love it. The location is great and I love the vibes of the inside. The hours are perfect as I generally go to use the simulators before work in the morning and work on my swing or play a round. I’ve also had a few lessons with Senior Golf Pro Matt Davis and I can already tell my swing has gotten better. With the technology they have and following Matt’s direction I feel like I’ll be performing a lot better once I get on an actual course. Highly recommend.“

“My husband took me out to Philly for an early Mother’s Day gift. He said we were going to a “speakeasy” type bar in Chinatown but I didn’t believe him. When we got to an iron screen door, he was like this is it and I was like you got to be kidding me. The owner came out, asked my husband if he knew it was a cash bar took our ids then went inside. The owner brought back our ids then took us inside to a foyer where he told us the rules of the bar. Cash only, absolutely, no photography and no phones. If you need to take a phone call, you go back to foyer area or outside to not disturb people. We agreed to rules and went inside. The bar was dimly lit with candles on each table. The decor was amazing with pictures and antiques on the wall. We were sat at a table and given a cocktail menu. The cocktails were unique and separated by whiskey, gin, vodka and rum. If you need a light since it is so dim in the bar, they will bring you a light because they brought one to my husband. There were no beers on the menu so if that is what you’re looking for then this isn’t the place for you. We ordered our cocktails and they were amazing. Since there is no phone usage, you have more of an intimate experience with the person you are with because you aren’t distracted by your phone. We sat and talked while drinking our drinks. The owner came over and asked us about our drinks and how we were doing. We then ordered another round of drinks and continued talking. We enjoyed our time at Hop Sing Laundromat. Service was great, bartenders were great, owner was great, and the ambiance was amazing. This is a great date night spot for anyone who wants to enjoy a intimate setting with a cocktail or two. I would post pictures but again, No Photography so you would have to go in order to see it to believe it. You will enjoy this experience and not be disappointed.“

“I stopped by for Happy Hour and tried the Burger & Beer combo with fries, as well as a slice of plain Detroit Style pizza. Everything was decent but could have been better. The Happy Hour pricing for the combo is worth it but just don’t expect a spectacular burger and the best beer.
I’d say the pizza slice was a bit overpriced. It was a bit undercooked and a bit lacking in flavor from the sauce and cheese. Perhaps the dough could use more salt. The burger was more flavorful but the bun was surprisingly soggy a few minutes after it was served. This wasn’t detrimental but it’s an area to improve. It also seemed like the toppings weren’t as evenly dispersed as they could have been but maybe they were just easily moving around a lot. I’m not as familiar with beer but I think I’ve tasted better but I also wouldn’t expect better for a Happy Hour deal, so I’m not complaining at all. The fries were fine as well, a couple served soggy, not the best flavor, but passable.
The service was great. My server checked on me at timely intervals and gave me everything I needed.
The atmosphere offers a few different options which was nice. Even the outdoor area is on two different streets and one side tends to have a quieter vibe. I didn’t check out the upstairs or stay in the bar area, but those are also options.“

“Great bartender, incredible music selection and possibly the best burger in the city. Especially for the dollar it is the best burger. The beer list was absolutely incredible and diverse. Happy hour like everywhere in this town means two dollar off pints. Even on days like St. Patrick’s Day, they still are efficient and friendly at Fountain Porter.
Parking: It’s South Philly. You know what you’re getting into. It’s busy.
Kid-friendliness: Due to the neighborhood, there are kids around during happy hour, and strollers can be common“

“Als Touristen sind wir ohne große Erwartungen ins Dirty Frank's. Wir wurden im Prinzip am ersten Tag schon als Stammgäste angesehen. Ab dem zweiten Tag, fühlten wir uns auch so. Absolut super Service, sehr nette Menschen im der Bar. Coole Jukebox, günstige Getränke. Sollte es uns jemals wieder nach Philly verschlagen, wird Dirty Frank's Bar das Erste sein, was wir besuchen werden.“

“In town for work at Logan Township, New Jersey from Indianapolis. Was recommended this place based off the food and atmosphere. The food was delicious and atmosphere did not disappoint. All the workers were super friendly and made it overall a great experience. Can’t wait to come back the next time I’m in New Jersey for work.“
“Let me start I did read all the bad reviews before heading over there so I didn’t have great expectations. However as a cheapskate and a craft beer lover especially searching for my lessor common styles of beer, I typically go by each bar and restaurant in airport and scan QR code to see beer selection and check pricing. Most places here in Philadelphia Airport straight rip off at 16 per pint, but when you want a beer you’re stuck. Anyway when I first approached the counter I was absolutely expecting to be poked since they didn’t show prices only beer menu.Luckily they had something for me that I was going to purchase regardless, A nice strong Golden at 8%.I was then blown away upon seeing I got a 20oz, normally higher ABV beers are served in smaller 12oz glasses. Any full pour of 20oz was only 10 bucks and I was expecting at least 20, left me room in budget to not only get 2nd beer plus a pretty solid hotdog and chips.Biggest plus was Connor the bar tender, was super cool and attentive, and then informed me I was safe to take my cup and walk back to my terminal, since I walked a fair distance just to check out all beer options.Lastly, unlike most other restaurants In airport it’s kind of obvious if your paying attention that their section is not owned and maintained by airport, as most restaurants have tables and chairs with chargers that kind of blend from restaurants into gates, so I kinda understand their right to ask people to patronize their business or ask them to leave, I was lucky to find a spot at the bar.Not excusing anyone ever treated rudely, and definitely not my experience.“
“It’s a great new dive-ish bar in the area. Big bar with 3 TVs with tables and TVs in the back. The draft list is just okay but I assume it’ll get better with time (they need more local beers and then a cheap domestic option). Haven’t tried the food yet. The service is awesome. The bartenders are super cool. It’s just a good vibe kinda place.
Edit: rooting for them still but I had jerk wings and they were just not good at all. So over-fried and dry with little flavor and skinny bones. I definitely won’t try wings here again but maybe some of the other food is okay.
Still love it but the need to do a better job with the draft beer - last time the only beer on draft out of 8 drafts that was available was Guinness (which I love so it was fine but still).
Good burger“

“We had not been to this restaurant since pre covid. The prior owner turned us off. All I can say is Wow! I’m so glad we decided to try again since it’s change in ownership over the last few years. Everything was great!! Food served hot and was good. The best was the outgoing and remarkable service by Marcy! Let’s be real food is a draw to come back, but those connections made are even greater that make people want to return. We will definitely be back and Marcy- keep doing what you’re doing!!“

“Sassafras is Olde City Philadelphia all the way with the signature drinks. The waiters and waitresses are all dressed swanky and the food is delicious. The Menu changes with the times and still stays classic like Restaurant & Bar. Candlelit tables and all the old finishings in the whole place. This place is 1st class all the way and reasonably priced.“
“Great people!! Thanks so much Doug for taking care of us and letting us order in amazing cheese steaks you recommended! We will definitely be back my new/old-school nostalgic favorite stop any time I'm out in Philly! Great to meet some new phriends and phamily! Rock on🤘👍❤️💯💥“

“I went to Bok Bar for a packed Making Time event on 4 July, and even at full capacity, it was 100% worth it. The rooftop views are iconic, the energy was high, and the space somehow never felt overwhelming.
A big highlight was the food partner during our visit — Gabriella’s Vietnam (July 2–27). Chef Thanh Nguyen, recently named a “Rising Star Chef” by Craig Laban, brought seriously authentic Vietnamese street food vibes to the rooftop. We had the BBQ chicken with chips and the shrimp salad — both fresh, flavorful, and perfect for a hot summer day. The mocktails and canned spirits hit the spot too.
Between the skyline, the music, and the food, it was a total Philly summer moment — and one I’d gladly repeat.“

“We had a great time on our date night! We visited on a Thursday evening and had the place mostly to ourselves. April was so friendly and helpful. I was truly horrible but had a great time regardless. The games were fun and it is a very cute place! The food was mid at best but not the reason we came anyway. the drinks were reasonably priced for being in Olde City.“

“What a massive improvement on the use of space over W/N W/N Coffee Bar. Poison Heart is a low-key place, not trying to be the next big thing in the city. The bartenders and staff are all great and friendly.
They have a fairly limited and somewhat unique food menu, but if you're feeling peckish you should be able to find something.
The atmosphere is dark in a kind of romantic way. But it's also lively in a way where romance is not the dominant vibe and can be completely forgone if you so choose.
It's the type of cocktail bar where you come to relax, enjoy a couple drinks, and have some good conversations either with your friends or the people around you.“

“First time eating at the Bank Bar….are you kidding me? The smash burger was sooo good! I ordered the wings dry so I could try all the sauces because I couldn’t decide which one I wanted. My favorite was the Soledad, the whisky glaze was delicious, also had the hot & honey. The sauces were on point! The Bank Bar did not disappoint!“

“I came here a bit out of sorts after a personal setback. I needed help figuring out what to drink and a mixologist who I don’t think was on duty guided me to their special and it was such a good cocktail! The service and other customers were excellent. I hope to get back someday when I’m in this area.“
