Thanks to the entire Canteen family - and I say FAMILY purposefully as you feel the family atmosphere as soon as you arrive - for hosting our team for dinner last week. We booked out the whole restaurant and they did just what we hoped for: Maritime hospitality, wonderful, genuine service and knock-your-socks off food. The team from across Canada went bananas over the Crobster sandwich. The special welcome from the owners was a lovely touch. The guests raved all the way back across the harbour on the ferry about the wonderful meal from start to finish. It’s a lovely space that is not pretentious and puts an emphasis on fantastic food and exemplary service, with a genuine smile. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“I don’t do reviews much but Sushi101 was incredibly delicious with an artistic flair that just added to the experience! We actually had to admire the artistry before diving into the various sushi roll plates. I am not one to take pictures of my food but the presentation of the various plates made me give-in and I did take my phone out for a few candid shots. I know it’s rude on date night to have a phone out but it really was that incredible!! Service was wonderful and a little wait is necessary when the food is coming out that fresh and beautiful. They were busy with eat in and take out; word must be getting out!! Well done chef and team at Sushi101!!”

I always review each experience because with most any restaurant, whether it be Moxies or any restaurant – each experience changes but with Moxies, it is consistent.”

“This is one of the most spacious locations that I’ve come across and it’s situated in the middle of Dartmouth. While the demographic that dined here seemed to be lower income, the staff did a good job of being accommodating.

The order came quickly and the visit was especially pleasant as we stumbled upon their kids activity night that’s Wednesdays 4-7pm weekly. The location seems like it could fit a kids playground but perhaps that was in the past!”

The owner is so friendly and accommodating with my dairy issues, I love that I can finally enjoy pizza again and the cheese actually melts and tastes good. “We were in for the first time tonight, and will definitely be back. Food was delicious, great portion sizes and very reasonable prices! We tried the family bbq, it was a lot of food for the price. I didn't even get to try the ribs, I was so full from the brisket, sausage and pulled pork. Service was also great, Kim? I think, was attentive without hovering, and really talked up the kitchen staff when we said how good the food was. Overall, great dinner!”

“Lovely Mediterranean restaurant with exceptionally beautiful tablecloths and a nice ambiance. We ordered the beet salad (beets, walnuts, goat cheese, maple vinaigrette) and the mixed meze plate which included hummus, dolma, mutabbel, falafel, and eggplant saute. For dessert we had the baklava and liked it so much we also got an order to go. The baklava at the table was served with a delicious raspberry sauce.

Everything was very tasty and plated in an attractive way. Our server was very attentive and helpful. The view from the restaurant is the only detraction since it looks out onto a parking lot (nice trees, otherwise unexceptional) but they do their best to make the inside beautiful and cozy. We will definitely go back.

“Finally had the chance to try Maria’s. Fresh pasta (Mafaldini) had never seen this shape before, 1/4”wide or so, looked like a lasagna noodle),Rosa Sauce and the best Lemoncello cake ever! Made chicken parm with the sauce and noodles and it was excellent. I can see this being a regular stop for take home ingredients. Also want to try the Porchetta sandwich so next Friday it’s marked on the calendar!”

We love the atmosphere, food is great, staff is always lovely and the beer is always good - in fact, their sours are beyond the best around and I really hope they start brewing them again. I was definitely a bit disappointed that they haven't offered one recently so.... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE bring back your sours! I also think their merchandise offered is more stylish then a lot of other similar places. It has a unique surf/beachy vibe that I hope they continue. What's even better is that they offer a 15% discount you can use on merch, if you show your receipt after dining in their taproom! Keep up the great work!”

“We recently ordered cupcakes with Delectable Desserts for a very special occasion. They were absolutely perfect! Right after opening up the box, we were totally impressed with the beautiful presentation. These cupcakes were just incredibly decorated. Each one of them was like a small piece of art. We had a sampling of a number of flavors, all of which were successes. The cakes were incredibly moist and light, sweet but not too sweet. The frosting was very smooth and creamy, full of flavor, not too sweet, and complemented the cake. Delectable Desserts really made our occasion special. Their attention to detail and commitment to quality really showed in every single bite. The service was great. The hospitality of the staff, warm and accommodating, showed in their passion for the job. They made sure everything was perfect with our ordered dish and delivered it on time, hence making the experience seamless and a joyful one. In short, we could not be more pleased with our Delectable Desserts cupcakes. They were truly the star dessert of the show at our special party, and our friends and family just loved them. We would enthusiastically recommend Delectable Desserts to any event a client wants to add a touch of sweet and classy to. Five stars all the way!”

We are from Ontario and tried many restaurants but didnt like much of Indian food, until we tried Mittal spices food and became a fan.

We didnt go anywhere else after that. Rajma Chawal, Daal chawal…everything was very YUMMY and had the flavour as if your Mom has made it.

“In previous countries where I lived I often heard either that this franchise is very expensive, or that their coffee is not so good that it would cost so much. My wife and I stopped here on the way home from the mall so we just wanted some coffee and decided to try it. What if we'll like it. And if no, well then no... I don't know about the prices of regular coffee, but the two that we ordered for ourselves turned out to be VERY tasty. We will definitely visit this place from time to time to sit and drink Starbucks special offers in the form of autumn options, for example, like these on my photo.

“Hands down best pizza, service and atmosphere there is. Karam and priya were so accommodating. I am an extreme vegetarian, and priya went out of her way to offer to make me pizza with toppings from a completely different station so there would be no meat contact. Then cleaned every utensil before using, and was extremely careful when making my pizza. These 2 workers go out of their way to give customers the best possible experience. We will for sure be back!!”

“Been reading comments . I’ve been buying Antoinette’s cheesecakes for years . I remember when she first started out in Dartmouth. I have to say, whenever there’s been a misunderstanding with my order, Antoinette has always gone above and beyond to treat me fairly And make things right. While there have been a few employees with a bit of a problem communicating with customers , Antoinette and her son , in my opinion, makes every effort to serve their customers . There will always be misunderstandings and people will always find reasons to complain but you can’t loose sight of the fact that Antoinette stands by her product and is very committed to providing value to her customers and has been known to truly service the product she sells. I’ve eaten cheesecake in every province in Canada and a lot places around the world and her cheesecake stands above anything I’ve ever eaten . We are lucky to have her stores !”
