“My wife and I came here for our Anniversary. We both have not been here before and usually go to Anthony’s Chophouse or Nevada Steak! Last year we went to Glen Eagles and highly disappointed. So trying something new our expectations were low. We started with drinks and an appetizer. We both chose the crab cake! Phenomenal, I highly recommend. Next, I had New England Clam Chowder and my wife chose French Onion. I must say it was the best Clam Chowder I have ever had. It was better than East Coast soup and blew away the clam chowder in had in a bread bowl in San Francisco. Our entrées came out a while later. I chose the 8oz Filet Mignon and my wife chose the Salmon. My steak was prepared perfectly. The flavor was again phenomenal. To top it all off they gave us a crème brûlée on the house for our Anniversary. The price for the both of us including cocktails was about what we expected!”

“Wow—what a YUMMY sushi spot! Everything was so fresh and absolutely delicious. My husband has had sushi in Japan and usually says nothing can compare… but Sumi came so close! The quality was outstanding, and the staff made the whole experience even better. I wish I took pictures of the food but it was beautifully presented as well. “I have eaten here at LEAST 15 times since we moved to Tahoe last year! I have tried a lot of sushi places, and this is hands-down the best sushi I've ever had. Not once have I been disappointed by the food here! AYCE is the only way I eat sushi, and it's such a great price here! The salmon is always buttery and amazing. There's plenty of sushi up in Tahoe, but I always drive down to Carson for this place because it's just the best. If I ever move out of the area, I'm genuinely going to be sad to leave Tomo behind.”

“I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. It was my first time here and we did not know what to expect, but it was above and beyond! First of all, the owner/operator, Dolly, is truly amazing. She might be the most hospitable and humble person I have met in a long time. You can tell she truly cares about the food, her employees, and most of all the customer’s satisfaction. The space is very clean with plenty of open light. It would be a good spot for an intimate date, or to host a larger party. Also, we must give it up for the chef! I am amazed with how many distinct dishes came out of the kitchen in such little time. Each dish was unmistakable discernible. We will definitely be back and we hope this place stays open forever!”

So if you are looking for a venue keep them in mind.The Prime Rib was outstanding. Indeed, it was the best Prime Rib I have had in a very long time. Our waiter and the Maitre de were outstanding. They made us all feel so welcome and almost like we were family. We all are still raving about the Prime Rib.There is something so wonderful about a place treating you like family. The human connection is something we all want. It is so awesome to feel appreciated and connected to our world and others. The staff here were outstanding. Everyone commented on the service we received.The appetizers and salads were tasty. The family members who had the salmon said it was excellent. Everyone was pleased with their meal. Portions are generous.All of us remarked on how good the food was. Not to mention, the price was right.The ambiance might be a little lacking. There are no tablecloths. However, keep in mind that tablecloths come with a cost of their own. They need to be laundered and then some need to be replaced. So there would be an added cost.So the question is would you prefer a little more ambiance or a cheaper price for an excellent meal?However, if you are looking for excellent service with delicious food at a reasonable price then this is the place for you.Not to mention, that the drive to Carson is beautiful. Plus there are plenty of things to do in Carson to enjoy. Perhaps it is time to beckon back to a slower pace of life. Take a nostalgic trip to Carson to see the Capitol all decorated for Christmas. Stop in at the Nugget and enjoy a dinner at the steakhouse.I wish I could remember the name of the Maitre de and Waiter I hope that management sees this review and gives the KUDOS and a big SHOUTOUT for delivering such great service. “I went to the Cracker Box for the 1st time always wanted to go. I have to say a nice little hole in the wall joint. It is a very small place and you are sitting right on top of people I am sure when it is crowded probably to much for me. The service was excellent on top of their game and very friendly. The food was ok I got the Chilli burger I probably wouldn't get that again. It isn't a place I would go to all the time because I don't like to feel crowded but I would go again and maybe try the breakfast I heard that is good. Go there about an hour before they close and you will be good if you don't like crowds. 1 last thing make sure u bring money it is cash only but they do have an ATM that was cool. I will give it 2 thumbs up 👍 👍”

“1000/100 recommend! Axohelado made some of the BEST quesabirria I’ve ever had, 3 drool-worthy taco and consome that was so good I wanted to just chug it (and still might), all for only $9.99. Really fun and adorable little spot, very friendly family that runs it, delicious ice cream with a huge variety of flavors, and all kinds of other Latin American snacks. Located right next to the Carson Lanes bowling alley, we’ll be regulars here for sure. Go check them out, NOW, and then feel free to thank me with an order of quesabirria.”

“My wife and I have loved the Basil for years, for it’s delicious food, great service, and relaxing ambiance. I personally love the Basil because the food is always fresh, nutritious and great tasting. Recently we chose them to provide catering for a 35-person birthday celebration at our home. We were extremely impressed by the time and attention that Chai gave to the planning of our event. The result was a beautiful set-up of amazing food and appetizers. Our guests totally loved it! Whether it’s for a simple lunch, a romantic or family dinner, or all-out catering, we can’t recommend The Basil enough!”

“I've had a few things from here now. I love that there is always a vegan soup, and I've tried the cheddar broccoli and tomato ones which were both amazing. I had an acaii bowl twice and it was pretty average for a bowl, plus you can add whatever at a cost. This place overall is overpriced for what is given. I got an avocado toast a few times which was like $9, and is the most overpriced, basic avo toast I've ever gotten. It isn’t even toasted, just avo spread, a TON of chili flakes and lemon oil 😬 I got it again without the chili flakes and it was literally just spread on untoasted bread for $9...My husband tried a smoothie from here and it had no flavor, but it was filling. I tried a vegan chocolate pb smoothie and it also had like no flavor. Overall, I like the soup here because it's vegan and convenient from where I work, but it could definitely afford to upgrade the avo toast by adding spinach, microgreens, pumpkin seeds, tomatoes, or being on a bigger bread, not just basic bread and spread. I seriously can't get over the fact that just basic toast is that much money when you can and should go across the street to LCB Cafe and get good things on the toast for less.”

I love Red Hut, everything there tastes great and they've got the best waffle recipe anywhere, hands down... I wish the soda fountain was still open, it was great when it was. Glad my kids moved back to Carson recently, gives me a reason/excuse to go again.”

I ordered a burger that came without mayo or mustard and when I asked for mustard it was an additional .50 my husband asked for blue cheese instead of ranch it was also an additional .50 we ordered a child sized apple juice which was over $5 but the worst part was the service. Our waitress was the worst. She never asked if we needed anything so many things. I took one bite of my burger and it was so nasty. The other guests were nicer than she was. At $175 for our meal our service should have been better. We will certainly pick another restaurant for our next visit to Carson City.”

“My sister & I came to eat at China Jade Horse around 4pm on a Sunday. I wasn’t packed at all which was awesome, maybe three other parties.

We got the potstickers as an app. They were delicious & loved how they were crunchy on the outside - it was my first time having them. We collectively ordered mongolian beef & veg chow mein. They were both good & we enjoyed it.

The lady that sat us, took our order, & served us was really nice. Our total came out to be $41 which isn’t bad.”

“I come in frequently and everytime I order oysters they are tiny , they used to be good size or large ,not even an extra to make up for the loss or a discount for something not worth paying for. The seafood soup is good but the fake crab is horrible better to remove it or change type of crab for a better one .I'll give it a try soon to see if anything changes and hopefully the micheladas are better too ,just beer and clamato won't do in my opinion”

“We were introduced to this restaurant last year by our dear friend and neighbor. We were living in TX at the time. FF to now. We moved to Carson March 1st. This has been our go to Mexican Restaurant for over 7 months now. We have tried several, but still come back here. The food is outstanding. The owner is really sweet. Best waiter around is Bobby. Request him any day but Wednesday!! He will take care of you. All the waitstaff have been amazing. Food is always hot fresh and made to order. Actually going there today for lunch as it's been a few since our last visit. Will post pics on my next review!! The #27 is our go to. 4 enchiladas. We will get 2 with the ground sirloin and 2 with cheese with rice, refried beans and albondigas soup. We share for lunch and have enough to eat for dinner. 5 stars across the board”

“Been here again couple of times. It's always been a great experience. The won ton soup and the orange chicken is the best in town. All together between a family of 4 we had the egg rolls sezchuan beef, Mongolian beef, orange chicken, beef and broccoli, veggie chow mien and walnut shrimp. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. We left with our bellies all the way filled up and some to go for a midnight snack. The bamboo garden is our number one choice for chinese food in carson city.”

What annoys me to no end is that in Carson City, where there are 2 stores, they have stopped carrying their signature brand Simply Purrfect kitty litter. I have 6 cats and have used this for "years". People from Mammoth, Coleville, Bridgeport, Yerington stock up on this Signature Brand "Simply Purrfect". I'm Now I have to drive 80 miles one way to get it?!!!! This is ridiculous and this is like being out of Costco toilet paper to me. Please if anyone agrees with me, please respond on Costco Facebook and call the corporate offices and complain too. I've tried other litters. There is no comparison. It climps hard, tracks very little, doesn't stick to the bottom of the litter box. It is Ridiculous to have a signature brand that now is discontinued at the Carson City Stores. Please restock the Carson City Stores with this litter. at least the one on Clear Creek Drive. It is closer yo all who live South of Carson who shop there.”

“I go to this location a lot. They are very good but every now and then we get a waitress that we wait to get help from. The food is great. I’d go before 3pm to get from the lunch menu. It’s much cheaper with a smaller amount. You still get salad and breadsticks. I highly recommend the Zeppolis for dessert. Zeppoli are warm, made-to-order Italian donuts dusted with baker's sugar and served with a choice of chocolate or raspberry dipping sauce. They are amazing!

Restaurant gets very busy at dinner and the staff get very busy as well. Long wait for our sushi. Chinese food served quickly, sushi was served much later.
