“Duke's Steakhouse is one of my favorite restaurants in the Carson Valley. I have been going there for many years. The food and the service never disappoint. Most of the wait staff have been there for quite a long time which I believe tells you that there must be competent managers overseeing the restaurant. They do not have a kids menu, so that is something to take into consideration.  However, my children are much older and the menu works just fine for them. I highly recommended this restaurant for date nights, celebrations, and holiday dinners.”

“I'd hardly call myself a sushi connoisseur but Oishi Sushi might be the best I've had. Prompt service, reasonable pricing, sushi served on these really neat wooden serving trays (first was a bridge, second was a boat). Everything tasted fresh. Absolutely delicious. This is the only sushi place I've tried in Carson so I can't compare to the others nearby, but its as good as anything I've had in Reno.”

“My wife and I have loved the Basil for years, for it’s delicious food, great service, and relaxing ambiance. I personally love the Basil because the food is always fresh, nutritious and great tasting. Recently we chose them to provide catering for a 35-person birthday celebration at our home. We were extremely impressed by the time and attention that Chai gave to the planning of our event. The result was a beautiful set-up of amazing food and appetizers. Our guests totally loved it! Whether it’s for a simple lunch, a romantic or family dinner, or all-out catering, we can’t recommend The Basil enough!”

“1000/100 recommend! Axohelado made some of the BEST quesabirria I’ve ever had, 3 drool-worthy taco and consome that was so good I wanted to just chug it (and still might), all for only $9.99. Really fun and adorable little spot, very friendly family that runs it, delicious ice cream with a huge variety of flavors, and all kinds of other Latin American snacks. Located right next to the Carson Lanes bowling alley, we’ll be regulars here for sure. Go check them out, NOW, and then feel free to thank me with an order of quesabirria.”

“I went to the Cracker Box for the 1st time always wanted to go. I have to say a nice little hole in the wall joint. It is a very small place and you are sitting right on top of people I am sure when it is crowded probably to much for me. The service was excellent on top of their game and very friendly. The food was ok I got the Chilli burger I probably wouldn't get that again. It isn't a place I would go to all the time because I don't like to feel crowded but I would go again and maybe try the breakfast I heard that is good. Go there about an hour before they close and you will be good if you don't like crowds. 1 last thing make sure u bring money it is cash only but they do have an ATM that was cool. I will give it 2 thumbs up 👍 👍”

“My wife & I love this restaurant. Their location at Longley & McCarran is ideal for all of South Reno, and a nice, really short drive for the residents of Hidden Valley and Donner Springs. The staff is super friendly, and the wait for your meal is truly minimal. Best thing is the food quality and generous pours. 2nd best thing is their “no rush” philosophy, so you don’t feel rushed to eat at all. Plus they have ample space for larger groups. This is a great restaurant, and everyone should take advantage of the location and experience.”

I ordered June’s Benediction — an open-faced English muffin with pesto, spinach, onion, cilantro, avocado, and two sunny-side-up eggs — and added ham. It was hands-down one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a long time. Every bite was balanced, fresh, rich, and perfectly executed. The flavors worked together beautifully instead of competing, which is rare.
The service was just as impressive — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without feeling forced.

“This place was surprisingly good for a Cafe in the hospital. Prices were great! Had the Italian wrap with onion rings & drink, and Chicken fingers with a drink all under 20.00. All Large portions. A good selection of foods and drinks. It's a Cafeteria type setting, but flows well, even in busy times. I'm sure if something wasn't done to your liking, they would correct it right away. Great cooks and great customer service. Keep up the good work, Sage Cafe.”

“On our way back from Yosemite we stopped for dinner at 7pm. My wife had the Cajun Chicken Pasta with blackened chicken and a dinner salad. She Sid her Mel was excellent. The chicken was so tender it could be cut with a fork. She said she would have liked the Cajun seasoning on the pasta too. I had the 12oz Prime Rib with baked potato and house salad. East Coast Prime Rib is very tender and extremely fatty. The Prime Rib I ordered he very little fat and was very firm tasting. It came with two types of butter, sour cream, cream horseradish and au jus. My meal was very filling and excellent. Our waitress Shanna was very good.”

“We were introduced to this restaurant last year by our dear friend and neighbor. We were living in TX at the time. FF to now. We moved to Carson March 1st. This has been our go to Mexican Restaurant for over 7 months now. We have tried several, but still come back here. The food is outstanding. The owner is really sweet. Best waiter around is Bobby. Request him any day but Wednesday!! He will take care of you. All the waitstaff have been amazing. Food is always hot fresh and made to order. Actually going there today for lunch as it's been a few since our last visit. Will post pics on my next review!! The #27 is our go to. 4 enchiladas. We will get 2 with the ground sirloin and 2 with cheese with rice, refried beans and albondigas soup. We share for lunch and have enough to eat for dinner. 5 stars across the board”

“I come in frequently and everytime I order oysters they are tiny , they used to be good size or large ,not even an extra to make up for the loss or a discount for something not worth paying for. The seafood soup is good but the fake crab is horrible better to remove it or change type of crab for a better one .I'll give it a try soon to see if anything changes and hopefully the micheladas are better too ,just beer and clamato won't do in my opinion”

I ordered a burger that came without mayo or mustard and when I asked for mustard it was an additional .50 my husband asked for blue cheese instead of ranch it was also an additional .50 we ordered a child sized apple juice which was over $5 but the worst part was the service. Our waitress was the worst. She never asked if we needed anything so many things. I took one bite of my burger and it was so nasty. The other guests were nicer than she was. At $175 for our meal our service should have been better. We will certainly pick another restaurant for our next visit to Carson City.”

“There were four of us that had lunch at Peg's in Carson City, on April 11. The food was expensive and not what it use to be like before Covid. We had a very rude waitress and the food was a very poor quality and not as it was ordered. Carson is really growing, but you need to keep your quality up or you will not get return customers. “Been here again couple of times. It's always been a great experience. The won ton soup and the orange chicken is the best in town. All together between a family of 4 we had the egg rolls sezchuan beef, Mongolian beef, orange chicken, beef and broccoli, veggie chow mien and walnut shrimp. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. We left with our bellies all the way filled up and some to go for a midnight snack. The bamboo garden is our number one choice for chinese food in carson city.”

What annoys me to no end is that in Carson City, where there are 2 stores, they have stopped carrying their signature brand Simply Purrfect kitty litter. I have 6 cats and have used this for "years". People from Mammoth, Coleville, Bridgeport, Yerington stock up on this Signature Brand "Simply Purrfect". I'm Now I have to drive 80 miles one way to get it?!!!! This is ridiculous and this is like being out of Costco toilet paper to me. Please if anyone agrees with me, please respond on Costco Facebook and call the corporate offices and complain too. I've tried other litters. There is no comparison. It climps hard, tracks very little, doesn't stick to the bottom of the litter box. It is Ridiculous to have a signature brand that now is discontinued at the Carson City Stores. Please restock the Carson City Stores with this litter. at least the one on Clear Creek Drive. It is closer yo all who live South of Carson who shop there.”

I decided to try this Mexican restaurant for my lunch break.
I called and ordered a carnitas burrito to go.
I'm eating and I'm halfway through as I write this.
The rice is soft and has good flavor.
Beans are the perfect amount for this burrito.
The meat is juicy, soft with flavor and has a very good measure of salt.
Accompanied by a little pico de gallo.
All this wrapped in a warm and soft flour tortilla.
The truth is that this burrito is delicious. Reminds me of mom's food. Made at home with a very special and fresh flavor.
You definitely have to try it. Whether it's the burrito or anything else on the menu.
I am delighted and of course I will return.
I miss my mother's food and this place has such a good flavor that it makes my mind go back to when I was a child.

“We went to a child’s birthday party on 27 Aug 2022. Since I have to eat gluten free I ordered a pizza on their gluten free crust. It was outstanding!!! We will return soon. I understand they also have keto crusts.”

“You’ll notice that I gave Wingstop four stars out of five. I don’t actually have much of a problem with their food, but there was one issue with it. I’ll explain shortly.

The atmosphere was excellent. I was genuinely impressed by how much Wingstop has grown since I used to visit nearly every month when I lived in Austin. The locations there were tiny with only a handful of tables inside, but it’s clear that in places like Carson City, they’ve become very popular... and rightfully so.

The service was very good. The man at the register took out a notepad to communicate more effectively with me. My phone can only do so much in loud environments, so it struggled to transcribe what he was saying. He didn’t waste time and simplified our communication method, and things went quickly from that point on.

There was a bit of a wait for my food, but I chose to eat at a very busy time when the place was packed. When it arrived, it was delicious, with a small catch.

The Louisiana Rub was as delicious as I remembered, but it was too salty for my palate. Now I’m regretting getting fries instead of a side of veggies to cut down on the salt.

In terms of healthiness: 4/5 stars.

I guess the missing star is probably more my fault than theirs, but they could reduce the amount of salt in the seasoning mix without losing any quality. It’s a very good mix, very savory.”

All we ask, regarding the coffee, is that you assess the brand and/or water to ground coffee ratio. No where near the quality of surrounding casino coffees.
