I personally love the Basil because the food is always fresh, nutritious and great tasting. Recently we chose them to provide catering for a 35-person birthday celebration at our home. We were extremely impressed by the time and attention that Chai gave to the planning of our event. The result was a beautiful set-up of amazing food and appetizers. Our guests totally loved it! Whether it’s for a simple lunch, a romantic or family dinner, or all-out catering, we can’t recommend The Basil enough!”

“Wow! Found a real gem in North Carson City. All I can say... it was amazing. Check out the pics! Oh... and the Lamb French-Dip?!?! I was barely walking in the 60's, but we ate at Philippe's in L.A. at least once a month. (Philippe's being the claimed originator of the French-Dip.) Chef Brandon has evolved this dish. AND... the au jus was perfect. Not some BS powder mix.) I will come again.”

“I haven't been to Tomo Sushi in probably decades, but decided to give it a try. It's got a lot better over the years. The place looks about the same inside. The service was very good, though the server had a little trouble recognizing what nigiri was what, beyond the obvious salmon.

We came for lunch which is priced at $27.95 per person, the usual rules apply about wasting food and leaving rice on the plate. But what was nice is they don't overload the rice here. I ordered mostly nigiri and the little rice ball was welcome as opposed to that big loaf of rice and thin piece of fish on top at some places. All the fish tasted fresh and tender. The mussels were a nice surprise, served in spoons already taken out of their shells. Those were tasty and easy to deal with, without the shells.

Sitting at at table, you just fill out the order sheet of what you want on the all you can eat option. They didn't forget any items either. I'll make more of an effort to remember to come here for sushi when in Carson City.”

“Another restaurant I haven't been to in years. But boy, I am so glad we came here to celebrate a family member's birthday.Needless to say, they have room for special events and private parties. So if you are looking for a venue keep them in mind.The Prime Rib was outstanding. Indeed, it was the best Prime Rib I have had in a very long time. Our waiter and the Maitre de were outstanding. They made us all feel so welcome and almost like we were family. We all are still raving about the Prime Rib.There is something so wonderful about a place treating you like family. The human connection is something we all want. It is so awesome to feel appreciated and connected to our world and others. The staff here were outstanding. Everyone commented on the service we received.The appetizers and salads were tasty. The family members who had the salmon said it was excellent. Everyone was pleased with their meal. Portions are generous.All of us remarked on how good the food was. Not to mention, the price was right.The ambiance might be a little lacking. There are no tablecloths. However, keep in mind that tablecloths come with a cost of their own. They need to be laundered and then some need to be replaced. So there would be an added cost.So the question is would you prefer a little more ambiance or a cheaper price for an excellent meal?However, if you are looking for excellent service with delicious food at a reasonable price then this is the place for you.Not to mention, that the drive to Carson is beautiful. Plus there are plenty of things to do in Carson to enjoy. Perhaps it is time to beckon back to a slower pace of life. Take a nostalgic trip to Carson to see the Capitol all decorated for Christmas. Stop in at the Nugget and enjoy a dinner at the steakhouse.I wish I could remember the name of the Maitre de and Waiter I hope that management sees this review and gives the KUDOS and a big SHOUTOUT for delivering such great service. “I went to the Cracker Box for the 1st time always wanted to go. I have to say a nice little hole in the wall joint. It is a very small place and you are sitting right on top of people I am sure when it is crowded probably to much for me. The service was excellent on top of their game and very friendly. The food was ok I got the Chilli burger I probably wouldn't get that again. It isn't a place I would go to all the time because I don't like to feel crowded but I would go again and maybe try the breakfast I heard that is good. Go there about an hour before they close and you will be good if you don't like crowds. 1 last thing make sure u bring money it is cash only but they do have an ATM that was cool. I will give it 2 thumbs up 👍 👍”

“I've had a few things from here now. I love that there is always a vegan soup, and I've tried the cheddar broccoli and tomato ones which were both amazing. I had an acaii bowl twice and it was pretty average for a bowl, plus you can add whatever at a cost. This place overall is overpriced for what is given. I got an avocado toast a few times which was like $9, and is the most overpriced, basic avo toast I've ever gotten. It isn’t even toasted, just avo spread, a TON of chili flakes and lemon oil 😬 I got it again without the chili flakes and it was literally just spread on untoasted bread for $9...My husband tried a smoothie from here and it had no flavor, but it was filling. I tried a vegan chocolate pb smoothie and it also had like no flavor. Overall, I like the soup here because it's vegan and convenient from where I work, but it could definitely afford to upgrade the avo toast by adding spinach, microgreens, pumpkin seeds, tomatoes, or being on a bigger bread, not just basic bread and spread. I seriously can't get over the fact that just basic toast is that much money when you can and should go across the street to LCB Cafe and get good things on the toast for less.”

“After finishing the Kit Carson Trail and exploring the many historic homes and landmarks, we happened upon this charming coffee shop and restaurant.

The ambience is unique and fun—definitely not your typical coffee stop. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall pleasant experience.

We arrived close to closing time, so some of the food had been sitting out for a bit, but even so, it was still quite good. We’d like to come back earlier in the day to try everything at its freshest.

Overall, a nice surprise and a spot we’d happily return to.”

“Because we were up charged for everything. I ordered a burger that came without mayo or mustard and when I asked for mustard it was an additional .50 my husband asked for blue cheese instead of ranch it was also an additional .50 we ordered a child sized apple juice which was over $5 but the worst part was the service. Our waitress was the worst. She never asked if we needed anything so many things. I took one bite of my burger and it was so nasty. The other guests were nicer than she was. At $175 for our meal our service should have been better. We will certainly pick another restaurant for our next visit to Carson City.”

Best salsas in town, best carnitas in town. And a little tip: you can ask for your tacos to be made with handmade tortillas and they are MASSIVE. Will always consider this a family favorite!”

This has been our go to Mexican Restaurant for over 7 months now. We have tried several, but still come back here. The food is outstanding. The owner is really sweet. Best waiter around is Bobby. Request him any day but Wednesday!! He will take care of you. All the waitstaff have been amazing. Food is always hot fresh and made to order. Actually going there today for lunch as it's been a few since our last visit. Will post pics on my next review!! The #27 is our go to. 4 enchiladas. We will get 2 with the ground sirloin and 2 with cheese with rice, refried beans and albondigas soup. We share for lunch and have enough to eat for dinner. 5 stars across the board”

I love Red Hut, everything there tastes great and they've got the best waffle recipe anywhere, hands down... I wish the soda fountain was still open, it was great when it was. Glad my kids moved back to Carson recently, gives me a reason/excuse to go again.”

“I come in frequently and everytime I order oysters they are tiny , they used to be good size or large ,not even an extra to make up for the loss or a discount for something not worth paying for. The seafood soup is good but the fake crab is horrible better to remove it or change type of crab for a better one .I'll give it a try soon to see if anything changes and hopefully the micheladas are better too ,just beer and clamato won't do in my opinion”

“There were four of us that had lunch at Peg's in Carson City, on April 11. The food was expensive and not what it use to be like before Covid. We had a very rude waitress and the food was a very poor quality and not as it was ordered. Carson is really growing, but you need to keep your quality up or you will not get return customers. “My sister & I came to eat at China Jade Horse around 4pm on a Sunday. I wasn’t packed at all which was awesome, maybe three other parties.

We got the potstickers as an app. They were delicious & loved how they were crunchy on the outside - it was my first time having them. We collectively ordered mongolian beef & veg chow mein. They were both good & we enjoyed it.

The lady that sat us, took our order, & served us was really nice. Our total came out to be $41 which isn’t bad.”

“I buy certain items at the Carson City Costco all the time. What annoys me to no end is that in Carson City, where there are 2 stores, they have stopped carrying their signature brand Simply Purrfect kitty litter. I have 6 cats and have used this for "years". People from Mammoth, Coleville, Bridgeport, Yerington stock up on this Signature Brand "Simply Purrfect". I'm Now I have to drive 80 miles one way to get it?!!!! This is ridiculous and this is like being out of Costco toilet paper to me. Please if anyone agrees with me, please respond on Costco Facebook and call the corporate offices and complain too. I've tried other litters. There is no comparison. It climps hard, tracks very little, doesn't stick to the bottom of the litter box. It is Ridiculous to have a signature brand that now is discontinued at the Carson City Stores. Please restock the Carson City Stores with this litter. at least the one on Clear Creek Drive. It is closer yo all who live South of Carson who shop there.”

“Been here again couple of times. It's always been a great experience. The won ton soup and the orange chicken is the best in town. All together between a family of 4 we had the egg rolls sezchuan beef, Mongolian beef, orange chicken, beef and broccoli, veggie chow mien and walnut shrimp. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. We left with our bellies all the way filled up and some to go for a midnight snack. The bamboo garden is our number one choice for chinese food in carson city.”

I called and ordered a carnitas burrito to go.

The rice is soft and has good flavor.
Beans are the perfect amount for this burrito.
The meat is juicy, soft with flavor and has a very good measure of salt.
Accompanied by a little pico de gallo.
All this wrapped in a warm and soft flour tortilla.
The truth is that this burrito is delicious. Reminds me of mom's food. Made at home with a very special and fresh flavor.
You definitely have to try it. Whether it's the burrito or anything else on the menu.
I am delighted and of course I will return.

“Went into the drive through. Food was great. By the time I payed for a burrito, and they have a tip on the credit card Machine, it was pretty close to 20 bucks for the standard burrito by itself. It was good. It was pricey. Not saying don't go here. However I am not going here a few days a week.”

“You’ll notice that I gave Wingstop four stars out of five. I don’t actually have much of a problem with their food, but there was one issue with it. I’ll explain shortly.

The atmosphere was excellent. I was genuinely impressed by how much Wingstop has grown since I used to visit nearly every month when I lived in Austin. The locations there were tiny with only a handful of tables inside, but it’s clear that in places like Carson City, they’ve become very popular... and rightfully so.

The service was very good. The man at the register took out a notepad to communicate more effectively with me. My phone can only do so much in loud environments, so it struggled to transcribe what he was saying. He didn’t waste time and simplified our communication method, and things went quickly from that point on.

There was a bit of a wait for my food, but I chose to eat at a very busy time when the place was packed. When it arrived, it was delicious, with a small catch.

The Louisiana Rub was as delicious as I remembered, but it was too salty for my palate. Now I’m regretting getting fries instead of a side of veggies to cut down on the salt.

In terms of healthiness: 4/5 stars.

I guess the missing star is probably more my fault than theirs, but they could reduce the amount of salt in the seasoning mix without losing any quality. It’s a very good mix, very savory.”
