“I went to the Cracker Box for the 1st time always wanted to go. I have to say a nice little hole in the wall joint. It is a very small place and you are sitting right on top of people I am sure when it is crowded probably to much for me. The service was excellent on top of their game and very friendly. The food was ok I got the Chilli burger I probably wouldn't get that again. It isn't a place I would go to all the time because I don't like to feel crowded but I would go again and maybe try the breakfast I heard that is good. Go there about an hour before they close and you will be good if you don't like crowds. 1 last thing make sure u bring money it is cash only but they do have an ATM that was cool. I will give it 2 thumbs up 👍 👍“

“Great area , kinda out of town but not quite , the staff where super friendly and polite , they make you feel at home , the good omg is delicious , they cook everything with love , and they are fast with table service .. id definitely recommend this place to anyone else in the area or just traveling through the area ..“

“Because we were up charged for everything. I ordered a burger that came without mayo or mustard and when I asked for mustard it was an additional .50 my husband asked for blue cheese instead of ranch it was also an additional .50 we ordered a child sized apple juice which was over $5 but the worst part was the service. Our waitress was the worst. She never asked if we needed anything so many things. I took one bite of my burger and it was so nasty. The other guests were nicer than she was. At $175 for our meal our service should have been better. We will certainly pick another restaurant for our next visit to Carson City.“

“I played the Empire Ranch Golf Course, and after the round had some time before my family came back to pick me up. I walked into Mallards, and was greeted by a very friendly bartender/attendant/waitress (one person). The food was excellent, the drinks were very good, and the service was attentive and friendly. I could not have asked for a nicer post round finish.“

This restaurant is excellent, their food is delicious,; – and their staff is great.
If they were not subject to certain very poor representation of humanity type individuals from the Nugget, I'd have no qualms with this place. Still much to appreciate.“

We brought mom here for her birthday the service and food was good. Wife's burger was a bit under cooked and we notified our server who very quickly took care of the problem. The manager even came to our table to apologize and made the situation even better. As always this place is service oriented and cares for the customer. We will continue to go there when in town.

“On our way back from Yosemite we stopped for dinner at 7pm. My wife had the Cajun Chicken Pasta with blackened chicken and a dinner salad. She Sid her Mel was excellent. The chicken was so tender it could be cut with a fork. She said she would have liked the Cajun seasoning on the pasta too. I had the 12oz Prime Rib with baked potato and house salad. East Coast Prime Rib is very tender and extremely fatty. The Prime Rib I ordered he very little fat and was very firm tasting. It came with two types of butter, sour cream, cream horseradish and au jus. My meal was very filling and excellent. Our waitress Shanna was very good.“

“My wife and I love the atmosphere and customer service. We frequent often and we adore Barbara, the Hostess/Greeter. All we ask, regarding the coffee, is that you assess the brand and/or water to ground coffee ratio. No where near the quality of surrounding casino coffees. It tends to keep us away for that reason only, lately. Thank you.“

“Oct 2025 Update - Still one of my favorite places to get breakfast. Prices have risen some but not as bad as other places.
I love Red Hut, everything there tastes great and they've got the best waffle recipe anywhere, hands down... I wish the soda fountain was still open, it was great when it was. Glad my kids moved back to Carson recently, gives me a reason/excuse to go again.“

“Another restaurant I haven't been to in years. But boy, I am so glad we came here to celebrate a family member's birthday.Needless to say, they have room for special events and private parties. So if you are looking for a venue keep them in mind.The Prime Rib was outstanding. Indeed, it was the best Prime Rib I have had in a very long time. Our waiter and the Maitre de were outstanding. They made us all feel so welcome and almost like we were family. We all are still raving about the Prime Rib.There is something so wonderful about a place treating you like family. The human connection is something we all want. It is so awesome to feel appreciated and connected to our world and others. The staff here were outstanding. Everyone commented on the service we received.The appetizers and salads were tasty. The family members who had the salmon said it was excellent. Everyone was pleased with their meal. Portions are generous.All of us remarked on how good the food was. Not to mention, the price was right.The ambiance might be a little lacking. There are no tablecloths. However, keep in mind that tablecloths come with a cost of their own. They need to be laundered and then some need to be replaced. So there would be an added cost.So the question is would you prefer a little more ambiance or a cheaper price for an excellent meal?However, if you are looking for excellent service with delicious food at a reasonable price then this is the place for you.Not to mention, that the drive to Carson is beautiful. Plus there are plenty of things to do in Carson to enjoy. Perhaps it is time to beckon back to a slower pace of life. Take a nostalgic trip to Carson to see the Capitol all decorated for Christmas. Stop in at the Nugget and enjoy a dinner at the steakhouse.I wish I could remember the name of the Maitre de and Waiter I hope that management sees this review and gives the KUDOS and a big SHOUTOUT for delivering such great service. “Highly recommend, from decor to the food to the service. I give it 5 STARS. The salad was prepared very well. the burgers were cooked just how we like them. The presentation when the food was brought was done exquisitely. Service couldn't be any better the waitress and help staff was superb.“

“Went to Bully’s for lunch today. The place was jumping, want to share our how awesome our server was! He greeted us with a smile and was so efficient, so many tables he was maintaining and not a single mistake or forgotten item. You are sweet and hospitable! Wish I caught his name, he had on a head wrap with long hair, braids. Keep smiling, you rocked it today! Thank you for the great service!“
