“My sister ordered a gluten free cake for my 70th birthday. It was the most delicious cake I have ever eaten. It was a double layer with mocha mousse in the center of each layer. The buttercream icing, if you are an icing fan is also fantastic, Everyone at my party was thrilled with it. I have never had any gluten free product as delicious delicious as this cake. The staff member asked us to wait while they did the math and saw if there was any leftover. He so kindly brought the bagels and spreads to our car and was INCREDIBLY generous. “I am genuinely surprised by some of the negative reviews. I decided to visit the bakery on a whim because my usual one was closed, and I was needed a cake and some sweets. I had the chance to meet one of the owners, who was incredibly sweet and friendly. She was incredibly patient as I placed my order, which included a multitude of items. My family and I were happy with the cake, and the mini chocolate, passionfruit, and mixed berry mouse cakes that we ate. Not to mention, I also got a loaf of bread, which was sooo tasty!! “So been here alot before i started writing reviews. In The Summer during the Thornwood car show, my parents and i can be seen eating their italian ices, which are very good. They also have cakes, pastries, and i believe i tasted my first almond horn from here, and it was good! Also once brought a pint to use for my 18th/Graduation party a few years ago. Inside, they do have chairs and tables where one can sit if they want.
Went here on Saturday August 10th 2024 while at the Thornwood car show with my parents. We were there to get italian ices. Staff was pleasant, and asked what we wanted right away. I got a Cotton Candy Italian ice, and my mom got lemon, and my dad got chocolate. We paid with cash, as they charge for using a credit card. Italian ices were very good! as we enjoyed them! “We've been coming to the reading room since it opened. We are big fans of the coffee bar especially the hot lattes. We had one yesterday that was delicious, creamy, smooth and had divine chocolate notes. Cup sizing is great too (small = 2 shots, medium = 3 shots, large = 4 shots). They do coffee right in a way that most coffee shops do not!! Staff are always welcoming and kind. Wonderful seating on front porch. Book selection is also great and they will order any book for you! The jalapeño spread was the star, SO good! Creamy with just the right amount of heat, and it paired perfectly with the bagel. Honestly, I’d come back just for that alone.

Only small downside: the menu posted outside on the window could definitely use an update, it didn’t reflect all the yummy options they actually offer inside. A refreshed menu would make it even easier for new customers to see what they’re working with.

“The bagels here are some of the best I've ever had! My favorite is the blueberry. The service is great and they are happy to toast and cut your bagel however you like. They will wrap up your items nicely and offer you extra bags if you want, it's always such a good experience! They also have a variety of cream cheeses; lox, strawberry, plain, etc.

The pastries and baked goods are hit or miss for me. The linzer cookies are great but the cakes aren't my favorite. I suppose they have something for everyone.

Popped in on a roadtrip back to ohio and stumbled across this gem. Foods so good and made in front of you with fresh ingredients. Toasted bagel was crunchy on the outside and pillowy on the inside, so good. Highly recommend getting your sandwich on a roll though, again, so good. Not a ton of seating but not needed in our case“

“This is my go to neighborhood bagel place. The bagels are chewy on the inside and crisp on the outside. Sometimes there are a few too many seeds but otherwise it is a great New York bagel. It is cash only but they have an ATM. Oh, and the iced coffee has ice cubes made of coffee. Love that.“
