“Me and Bae had some errands to run in the bronx and decided to get some food. He's been years back but it was my first time trying them. As soon as we walked in there was a line that was wrapped around the whole place. It's a Lil confusing but we found the back of the line and slowly but surely made our way to the front. We ordered two beef and chicken patties, two coco bread, one meatloaf(beef filled coco bread) and two carrot juice and a ting soda. They get u up outta there fast tho and it's only cash. When we were leaving the line was forming outside the store so just be patient. We couldn't wait to get to the car and tear into everything. The first one I grabbed was the beef and while it was good it wasn't as seasoned as I thought it would be. But the chicken I really enjoyed and it was a Lil spicy. I ate that with the coco bread. Bae put his whole beef patty in his coco bread and devoured it lol but even he admits the beef was better back in the day. All in all I Def will be back for that chicken patty and soft delicious coco bread. Oh and that carrot juice was delicious as well Def recommend grabbing one!“

"Paul" has kept up standards. The Coco Breads are THE BOMB - I'd know, I was taught to make them at the bakery my Granny worked in Mo'bay every summer! A MUST HAVE !!!! Go out of your way. “I ordered a baby shower cake from Fleetwood Bakery in Mount Vernon, and they absolutely nailed it! The whole experience was seamless, and they even delivered it right to my home, which was such a help. The cake itself was blue velvet with a cream cheese filling, and it was unbelievably soft, moist, and flavorful. Everyone at the shower kept asking where it was from! “Let me start with I am not one to write reviews however this one is worth the occasion. It was an absolute pleasure working with Wildly Cakes to get a cake for my bridal shower. We had a traveling themed bridal shower and Wildly Cakes was able to make this beautiful world map on the side. But it doesn’t just end there the cake itself tasted delicious. We got a vanilla cake with cookie butter filling and all my guests ranted and raved on how good it was. We actually have our wedding cake being made by them too and we cannot wait to see and taste it especially after this great first impression.“

I’m so Glad my husband found a bakery that not only is named black forest but also bakes the most delectable Black Forest cakes I have ever had. This is my 2nd year getting my cake and the drive and price are well worth it! I look forward to going back again next year.“

“The cannolis here are INCREDIBLE... 10/10!!! The cookies are pretty good, too, as they are not overly sweet and go perfectly with coffee or tea. However, their mini cakes are not the best, which is why I'm docking a star. I ordered a mini tiramisu which was dry and seemed to have a frosting layer rather than a creamy mascarpone, which was disappointing. Overall, awesome bakery! I would just say to avoid the mini cakes.“

It’s hard to believe they don’t contain gluten because the texture and flavor are identical to traditional shortbread. Buttery, perfectly balanced, and rich without being too sweet. “I have been going here for years how long I used to babysit for Danny and his brother. The food is delicious. The soups are amazing. Chicken cutlets are delicious. I really haven’t had anything here. I didn’t love.

Dietary restrictions: You can ask not to put extra salt in certain things and I find the soup is not salty. They’re pretty accommodating with everyone.“

I picked up a small strawberry shortcake (made with fresh strawberries) and it was a huge hit! Like other reviews mention, this is an “old school bakery” vibe, no frills, just a large variety of home made delicious treats and reasonably priced. I’d highly recommend to anyone in the area in need of a special order dessert, last minute needs, or just something really yummy to enjoy! ***cash only“

“Galloway Bakery is a classic neighborhood spot with old-school charm that’s hard to find these days. It’s a long-standing bakery that focuses on doing things the traditional way, and it really shows in the quality of their baked goods.

The pistachio pound cake was excellent—moist, rich, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. You can really taste the pistachio, and the texture was spot on. Simple, comforting, and done right.

Good to know before going: cash only, and they’re open Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Definitely worth planning a visit—I’ll be back to try more.“
