“Great welcoming management with sense of humor. They listen to your wishes and preferences as well as they discreetly check upon you during the stay. Helpful and attentive service! As always, very cozy athmosphere and very nicely made food - great lamb dishes. Wish the flavor of a hummus starter had more significant taste, it didn't have actually any seasoning, wish the tzatziki side was a little bigger. Would be lovely to have ouzo served on the alco menu as well! Great choice of a sweet mastiha shot as a wrap up of the visit! Will get me one for home! And will comeback!“

The food is made fresh homemade with ♥️Love everyday! Their food is so tasty and the portions are generous. The staff & owner makes you feel part of their family. It’s intimate diner throw back to another time atmosphere is refreshing! The traditional Greek food is out of this world and very reasonably priced. And it has a thriving takeout/ delivery business. “There is no lack of Souvlaki restaurants in NYC, let alone Astoria, but Christos Souvlaki Stand stands out.

Your basic choices (as I understand them) are- skewer, sandwich, or platter. Then you choose chicken or pork. While your order is being assembled, a couple of additional questions: hot sauce (say yes, it’s not that hot), BBQ sauce (say yes, it’s not what you think), and “everything”? (Also say yes, as this includes Tatziki, lettuce, onions, and tomatoes.

I ordered a fantastic pork souvlaki sandwich (with all of the above). The pork had just the right amount of char and smoke from their natural charcoal, but it was still juicy and tender. The fresh pita became a sponge for all the delicious juice that needed a home before my belly. I had to take it home, but you can see its ample size. In total, I think it was $7!

If you need to get on the subway to come here, do it. It’s totally worth it.“

“I discovered Taverna Kos in Astoria through a YouTube video, and I’m so glad I went—it was an excellent experience. The food was fresh, authentic, and full of flavor, but what really stood out was the hospitality. The owner, Mike, was incredibly humble, down-to-earth, and took the time to check in and make sure we felt at home. You can tell he cares deeply about both the food and the people who come through his doors.

The atmosphere was welcoming, the service attentive, and everything we tried was spot-on. It’s the kind of place that feels like you’re eating with family rather than just at a restaurant. Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic Greek food in Queens—you won’t be disappointed!

“The food was amazing, I order a stuffed burger but what I received was not as expected nevertheless it was delicious 😋. My friend and I had a last minute dinner and went there. The salmon was cooked to perfection and moist. Oh, I wasn't expecting veggies to taste delicious but their veggies was amazing delicious. I hate zucchini and I ate how delicious it was. Will be visiting again.“

“I stopped by BZ Grill in Astoria for a quick lunch and left seriously impressed. The owner, Margarita, is a super nice, hardworking lady who clearly takes pride in her food — everything is made fresh and with care.

I ordered the Bifteki Sandwich Lunch Special, which comes with fries. The bifteki (a seasoned Greek-style all-beef patty) was packed with flavor — juicy, perfectly grilled over charcoal, and I could taste a hint of cumin and other warm spices. Easily a 9/10. I also tried the kebab— a delicious mix of ground beef and lamb with Middle Eastern spices. It was tender and flavorful — a solid 8.5/10.

Overall, BZ Grill is a must-try for Greek street food lovers. Great flavors, generous hospitality, and a clean, welcoming vibe. I’ll definitely be back!“

“Outstanding bakery. They have a number of hard to find Greek and Mediterranean specialty pastries. Prices are reasonable and there is a nice little seating area on the sidewalk. Namely - they have Kavala cookies. Delicious and crispy. What a treat to find these here.“

“Lovely restaurant with home cooked quality food..presented nicely. The restaurant also has its own bakery next door, full selection of American and Greek pastries. We had Thanksgiving dinner. Traditional Turkey Delicious lamb chops and Shrimp Scampi were the main choices for the pre fix meal. Otherwise, you could order off their regular menu.“
