“Saturday evening dinner without a reservation. Walking in, my eyes immediately gravitated to the pictures of the owners and the many celebrities that have eaten and visited there before. The bar area is very nice and large, with TVs playing sports and news. We were greeted, welcomed and seated immediately. The dining area is very large and decorous. The tables large enough to sit us all. My cousin-in-law and his family frequent the restaurant and he practically knows everyone there, so as we sat, we were introduced to the owners and pretty much about a half dozen waiters and other staff members. All were extremely friendly and welcoming. As expected with all family style restaurants, the tables are very close to one another but positioned in a way that still allowed for ample space for you to move and sit comfortably. When we sat, there were hardly any people there, but within an hour it was full of patrons and large families. It was loud, but manageable. The food was unbelievably delicious. I haven't had true traditional family style Italian food in a long time. From the Fried Calamari and cold antipasto appetizers, to our Veal Parmigiana, Penne allá Vodka with Shrimp and prosciutto entrees. Paired with a Cabernet Sauvignon Palermo Napa, I truly enjoyed my meal. I haven't enjoyed food this good in a long time. My girls shared a huge plate of Chicken fingers and fries, and they loved it. I highly recommend anyone who's in the area to dine here. You won't regret it. Thank you for a great meal and patronage.“

“This cafe is incredible! The ambiance is so relaxed, clean and open. The drinks are very interested, delicious and well crafted. If you go, you have to try the pistachio croissant. This is hands down the best croissant I've ever had in my life. It's got the perfect texture, perfectly balanced flavor of pistachios, butter and almond. I cannot recommend this place enough. “What a pleasant surprise. The bldg that house Southdown is easy to spot but I wasn't expecting it to house a coffee shop. Parked right across from it and walked in to a comforting atmosphere. Wood floors, spacious and airy. Fireplace to your right and tables scattered in 3 different rooms and there is outdoor seating too. Plants and paintings dotted the place makes it homey.I was greeted right away and the gentleman graciously gave me time to study the menu. I ordered chai latte with oatmilk and an egg sandwich with prosciutto and avacado. The chai came out pipping hot and full of flavor (tasting ginger and cardamom) the sandwich was freshly pressed and not salty at all. Definitely like to be back to try any items.Loving the vibe and great to hangout with friends.“

The gripps Street location is really nice inside, a little bit small but it did not feel overcrowded. The gluten-free oatmeal square grew on me, but it was not great (very crumbly and not as much flavor as I hoped for). Definitely better things to eat so I will need to explore more.“

“Had coffee & tea early in the morning with a friend two days ago—fabulous tea service and the cappuccino was just right.Went back later with my son--he LOVED their chicken club sandwich. What's not to love? It was a generous portion. Plenty of chicken and amazing sauce on the side and FRESH french fries. Service was more than attentive. The waitress was lovely and when I looked up for a moment just to take in the beautiful space, a male server stepped over to see if I needed anything. Asked me if I needed lemon or honey with the tea-- that impressed me. Usually you have to ask for everything. Also lovely attention to details with the choice of dishes and cutlery and variety of cups for drinks. Lots of options for pastries as well. Will go back again this weekend for sure! Great job!“

My friend got a grapefruit “K-fruit” and I got a combination of cookies & cream AND dulce de leche BOBA. It was my first time ordering and I was surprised that I could mix flavors. Sally was very accommodating and made helpful suggestions regarding the sweetness level. The grapefruit “K-fruit” did not taste artificial and it had real fruit pulp. “There are many coffee bars and coffee shops in New York State. A good many of these offer a wide selection of coffee. Most serve an excellent product. While the coffee served at the establishment I am about to discuss, is excellent, there is something extra about it that places it in a category of its own. No, this is not something that can be packaged in a brand wrapping or sold as a coffee additive that would render the elixir more delicious. I have been frequenting the Starbucks at Long Island University CW Post every Sunday for the last two years. "The Long Island Youth Orchestra" holds its rehearsals at the university and one of my children is in the orchestra. The Starbucks is located in the Hollywood Commons building. while the Commons is big the Starbucks that is tucked into the distant corner near the theater is not a particularly large. There is seating for a quick bite or to sip a cup of excellent Joe, however, when classes are in session, seats are at a premium. What stands out about this particular Starbucks is the team of baristas and the excellent manager that leads the team. Throughout the two years I have been a patron of this Starbucks, I have seen the baristas navigate long lines of coffee buyers without a hitch. I have also witnessed persnickety and downright rude patrons be dealt with civilly and effectively by the manager. The team of baristas and the store manager are a credit to the brand name. In addition, to all this, the pour over Blond is an excellent choice for a simple cup of coffee, not to strong but full bodied. The coffee is served hot and with a smile. I recommend this coffee shop when visiting the campus, the coffee is excellent and the service is stellar.“

It was hands down the best coffee I've had (better than anything I've had from the grocery store or certain well known name brands of coffee.) “I recently ordered some tea from Clipper Ship. It arrived without issue, but through a glitch with their packing label printer, I also wound up with another customer’s order by mistake. Upon reaching out to let them know, I was informed that they were already sending a replacement order to the other customer and I could keep the tea. Beyond their great customer service and fast response time, I want to point out their attention to detail. I often receive small sample packets when I order tea (from many companies) and what really struck me was that the folks at Clipper Ship make informed suggestions with their tea samples! They are not just providing sachets of teas they’re hoping to promote; they consider what you ordered and provide you with samples that match your tastes! I’d ordered a toasted sesame tea and received dessert tea samples. The other order that arrived was for wellness tisanes, and so they included similar white and herbal samples.
