“In celebrating a birthday, a big group was easily accommodated by the great staff. We got to try calamari, mussels, duck, pork chop, beef short rib and the pasta special. Each dish unique and flavorful. The majority of the meal was ordered from the Italian portion of the menu. The dishes stayed true to Italian food and the Mexican elements were noticeable but not overtaking the origin of the dish. like using roasted poblano in the calamari, or the amazing black cherries with the duck breast. The Italian Chianti from their wine selection is delicious and complimented the meal perfectly. so we got two bottles. Great experience.“

“My daughter's baby shower was recently held here and I highly recommend The Ripe Tomato! I first spoke to Milan and he went out of his way to make sure was it a great day from the start of planning to enough room and tables, right up to the end. “I went to meet a group of friends that I hadn't met before. We had a group dinner I forgot to bring cash I had a credit card only. The waitress handled it very well. I've ordered food from pasta Payne before but I've never eaten there. It was very nice inside. Next time we arranged to meet I have to ask not to be up on this step section. I didn't know it had a stepped up section. Everything was nice the bread was good that they gave us as we ordered they had Earl Gray tea which was awesome cuz some places don't carry it. I didn't want to get a meal so I got appetizers calamari. There's a spot on. I had a nice crunch it had a nice texture it was awesome flavored. We came with the marinara sauce that was that was good I'm not in the marinara but I know it was good. I also ordered from the side menu, Fagioli Cavolo. Greens and beans. My dad made this every year and I hated it never ate it I think I tried it once. I had it at a restaurant a year ago and I actually kind of liked it so I thought I'll order it here. I actually kind of love it. It looks beautiful. It was so bright and green and the beans were just perfect and the sauce just tasted awesome. It's like a soupy broth it was in. I don't know if they used to meet soup broth like chicken or if it's just the Bean Juice but it tastes like maybe there might have been cheese like Romano or parmigiana. I don't really know what was in it but it was awesome. I was incredibly happy I ordered it. I didn't take a picture of the food when I was there but everyone knows what calamari looks like there's not great kind you get that has icky breading and there's a really lovely kind that has a delicate perfect breading and the delicate perfect breading is what I got. I did take a picture of The Greens and Beans the next day when I ate the the rest of it. It was still amazing. It's a shame my pictures do not do the food Justice because it was just fantabulous. It was so fresh tasting. I thought I hated kale but it turns out if you know what you're doing kale is amazing.“

“The store is aptly named and was indeed a 'Joy' to visit. After losing the Italian deli in Saratoga that I've patronized for many years to a buyer from Albany that doesn't even answer the phone, I began a search for a true Italian deli. When I walked into La Gioia I knew I had found what I was looking for. The aroma of Italy in the air, the hustle bustle of a staff serving with professional knowledge, courtesy, and a neat and clean appearance so rare today, and shelves and cases filled with all the Mediterranean delicacies imaginable, made me realize the true gem I discovered. This was a wonderful epiphany for me; I smiled all the way home 30 miles away.“

“Restaurant week in schenectady at we hit ferrari's. OMG. Nate our server was amazing. So was the gentleman bagging leftovers. “We went to dinner at Scotti's recently and it was incredible. I had the Veal Gaetano and my wife had the Chicken with white wine. Both were superb ....the veal tender and perfectly cooked and the chicken moist and delicious. The sides broccoli and linguini were an excellent complement to our dinner. To top it off we had the tiramisu and it was easily the best tiramisu of any restaurant we've visited. Kudos to the owner and staff for a great evening!“

“Went out with party of six friends. Waitress was very slow. After greeting us we didn’t see her for 20 minutes or more. When she did come she explained she had a party of friends she hadn’t seen in a long time. We didn’t see her for another 20 minutes. Had my usual Delmonicos rib eye special that I’ve enjoyed for over twenty years. Meat was okay, no longer prime and it was disappointing. Prices for the meal have climbed significantly over the last 7-8 years so I’m not sure how they figure selling cheap meat is a good idea. “The food here is always stellar. The last time I went, our server was in the middle of an argument with the hostess and let it affect the way she acted toward us. I tried to break the ice and asked her if she needed a beer too because she seemed stressed. She then explained to us how frustrated she was with the hostess. She seemed to lighten up after that and our dining experience became less tense. We ordered a round pepperoni pie and it was delicious, as always.“

“We went after Dinosaurs Live. My picky grandson had 2 slices of the delicious bread and butter then Spaghetti and Meatballs, he couldn't eat it fast enough. Enjoyed the pasta, the meatballs and tried the Mac and cheese....yum. My son and I had the chicken Parm, the best I have ever had. Hot and juicy, even the edges. We had left over and ordered dessert to bring home. Service was great and very friendly staff, atmosphere great and every thing was clean. If they ever decide to sell the sauce, please let me know. “Before I start getting chewed out by anyone, Atmosphere is a 1 out of 5. Care to guess why? There is no atmosphere. You order, you get it, you leave. Oh, and it's cash only. No credit cards, no bitcoin, nothing crazy. The whole establishment exists for 1 sole purpose: to provide pizza and pizza type staples one would come to expect from a pizza establishment. For every corner cut to make this place a pickup only establishment, it's for a purpose. That purpose is to provide some of the BEST pizza and some of the BEST hot wings in the area. Their wings, honestly have incredible kick and some outstanding spice to them. The pizza is incredibly balanced with their flavors. Not too sweet on the sauce, not too much garlic, dough is just right. A decent laughing point, though, is their wings. I've never heard of wings and spuds. Ever. It's good, actually. Incredibly good. Great combination. I'd have never thought to put the two together, but that's my own limited imagination. 10/10 love this place.“

“Ordered delivery after we smelt the pizza in the lobby and got a peek at other customers pies. Ordered up at 1145pm. By 1220 the delivery was here. It was hot enough it had to cool off a bit(mind you it's 0 degrees tonight lol) for a freshness reference. Delivery guy was a great guy also. The pizza looked great. Thin crusty and slightly well the way I like it. The ONLY thing I can suggest is a bit of improvement on the sauce please a little more flavor and this pizza would be a 10. “Red Front is unique. It's not NY style pizza. It's not the run-of-the-mill, carbon copy American style that many other local places have either. It's just its own thing. Whether it's COB or traditional, you get a really nice pan pizza with an effectively fried bottom crust and an awesomely sweet sauce with a great spice balance. This location is great -- the staff is friendly, the food comes out fast and hot. You really can't ask for much more than that.“

“I came here for dinner with my family and it was amazing! This was the best Italian restaurant I have ever been to. I got Mac and cheese, not sure if that’s what it’s called on the menu but it was 11/10. They make the pasta here fresh so it was unlike anything else I’ve ever had. We also got the truffle fries minus the truffle for an appetizer and they were some of the best fries I’ve ever had. Our server was very kind, knowledgeable, and attentive.
