“Been here a few times now, and now that i moved to NC I was back for the holidays, I decided to take my uncle tonight and wow wow wow it never disappoints. As soon as I walk in, im almost brought to tears because it feels like home. *cues Frank Sinatra* youre greeted as soon as you walk in, everybody having warm BUT LOUD;) italian conversations at the little tables. I asked the woman which gelato she preferred and she said amaretto cookie, and so I said okay ill that one:) ! And the boss/owner intercepted and said, everyone has their own taste and took it upon himself to scoop a sample of it and I like how despite how everybody is in the fast lane and next next next (outside this place) he took the moment to go above and beyond and thats the italian way. It made me smile. Amongst the decadent gelato, the ambiance, the hospitality is what puts the cherry on top. And btw my uncle said a lot of the gelatos hes had have been ice chips but this one, perfecto. Dolce far niente. Like sitting in the car, together, reunited for the holidays, enjoying gelato. Tasting the gelato, but more, tasting a memory far richer than I could've asked.“

“I have to share an incredible story with you.. It’s long so please hang in there. One of my children had their tonsils out last Wednesday. I’m sure when this happens as a child it must be horrible, I know growing up so many of my friends had their tonsils out, but I was completely unprepared for how healing would be for my child who is an adult. The recovery has been so much more than any of us anticipated. For their recovery I was asked if I would bring up Blue Hawaii ice from Ralph’s. Off to the store we went, purchased a few half gallons and brought it on the trip with us as we met up with our child the day of surgery. 24 hours after surgery my baby was a mess, the pain was horrible, and the only thing helping was blue Hawaii ice from Ralph’s! I called the store and asked if there was a way to ship the ice to my child. The gentleman on the phone, who I now know as the owner of both the Selden Ralph’s and the Farmingville Locations immediately started to explain to me how we may be able to make that work. The next morning, after my child had already gone through a half gallon, I realized I had to try. When I called that day Pat took charge, not only did he do the research for what I needed, he got it all together for me. He even went so far as to tell me that if he couldn’t figure it out he would be willing to drive the 2.5-3 hours to bring it to them. (Let me add in my other child who is on the island with me was just diagnosed with a concussion, and needed me home so I was unable to be with my child who was recovering from surgery 😭) Pat went to UPS for me and picked up the right size box and the packaging I needed. Then he went on to get dry ice to make sure Blue Hawaii would survive the trip. While the local dry ice place wasn’t so kind, he then drove to Bay Shore to another reliable source who helped. (This was now taking up a ton of this mans time, a decision he made to help me to help my child feel better at no additional charge or perks for him. Without his help I would have never been able to figure this out or get it out that day) He packed the order and I had a friend meet up with him who would then take it to UPS for me to ship it out. So off the ice went on its journey. And it arrived 100% prefect to my child the next day. Yesterday I finally had the chance to meet the man who cared enough to go above and beyond for my family. He didn’t have to do this, there was nothing in it for him, he even gave her extra ice, and I honestly believe he would have taken the drive himself. I went back in to purchase yet another gallon and a half for my child who has not spoken since the surgery but when I FaceTimed them from his store yesterday they did so to thank this wonderful man blue tongue and all 😂. As I am now sitting on the ferry reflecting I needed to share this story with all of you. I am a big believer in being there for one another and what a random act of kindness can do and the impact it can have. This man could have just left it, he could have told me how to do it, and I could have attempted to stumble through while caring for my other child recovering at home yet he went the extra mile for my family. We already were huge fans of Ralph’s but they will now be our one and only stop. I hope if you have never given them a shot you will <3 and my child’s suggestion of course is try Blue Hawaii! I can’t wait to bring her more ice today!“

“If there was an option for ten stars, I'd rate this place ten stars across the board! EVERY time I go to this location in Bay Shore, I'm so impressed on how spotless the whole place is. The one lady & man (he's usually in the back unless a few customers come in) that are always there are so nice. The lady is constantly cleaning up after herself after everything she makes. You can see that they work hard & appreciate the business. They give excellent customer service & I HIGHLY recommend this Carvel!

“I ordered a custom cake for my brothers 16th birthday and it was amazing ! The woman who helped me was so friendly , and honest. When I told her I wanted black icing, she advised that black is difficult because it needs a bunch of different food coloring and doesn't taste good, so we ended up going with red. She really took her time to make sure we were on the same page and had everything correct. I was worried the picture would look tacky or blurry because its printed but it looked like it was drawn right on the cake. Definitely recommend this service !“

“I stopped in for ice cream, and my card kept getting declined, despite there being plenty of money on it. I kept asking the girls to scan the card at the top of the POS machine, and they kept telling me they cannot scan the card until the card was entered into the machine three times. I have never encountered this before.I really think there is a mistake, because the scan option was implemented to protect consumers from having to enter or swipe their cards at a POS machine. I never scan my card at retail establishments anymore; I always scan my card at the top of the machine, and my payment is always accepted. I am never told I need to enter my card three times before scanning.It ends up some lovely woman paid for my ice cream anyway, which I am highly appreciative of.“

“I can’t say enough good things about Kool Kat Ice Cream Truck! I reached out to treat my daughter and her friends at her small school, and while other places turned me down because it was a small order, Kool Kat happily said yes. They made these kids so unbelievably happy! The man who came was incredibly kind and patient, taking the time to make sure every child got exactly what they wanted. All of the teachers and staff kept thanking me and raving about how wonderful he was. Such a simple gesture turned into a really special memory for the kids thanks to Kool Kat. Highly recommend!“

“I did a take out order at the East Islip location. The food was good but the super melts do not seem to have much meat on them like they use to. If the prices are going up with less portions that’s going to be a problem for Friendly’s. I would hate to see them go out of business because I love Friendlys too!!“

“A very charming shop. In town for work and decided to go for a treat. Banana cream ice and peanut butter and jelly ice were the best I’ve had. I’m a stickler with banana flavored items and it is most definitely made with fresh bananas without any artificial flavors or colors. The owner was very pleasant and answered all of our questions. “This location was renovated in the last couple of years and has maintained the cleanliness well! This location has a drive-through, spacious parking lot and outdoor seating. They have a full menu as this is a standalone location. We have had the doughnados, mint madness milkshake, all of the cream and regular ices are always fresh.“
