“This location used to host the China Chef restaurant back in the 60's/80's, a really nice slightly upscale Chinese restaurant. My first taste of Asian American cuisine. Unfortunately the China Chef is long gone.
J.J. Garden which now occupies this location makes some of the tastiest Chinese American dishes that I've had the pleasure to enjoy in a long time. Their Fried rice dishes are outstanding. Made on demand, not bulk prepared. Now that's the way it's supposed to be! Their Beef with Broccoli is perfect, with just tender broccoli and perfectly cooked beef.
I'll cut this review short here, and just say that if you like properly prepared Chinese American food JJ Garden is worth the trip.
BTW pricing is reasonable, not cheap but also not expensive.“

“It's been three years since I stopped by this lil' spot while waiting for a midnight flight to return back to Canada, and BY FAR this was the most memorable meal of my entire New York trip. Growing up in my family's own Chinese restaurant, coming into this place brought back such rich memories as I dug into the fried rice, chicken wings and spareribs that are actually some of the best I have ever had growing up at Chinese restaurants back home. My only regret is that I had to rush out for my flight or else my pal and I would have ordered another round of food. To this day I STILL bring this place up with my friends who are interested in New York! I will definitely be coming back in the future and will always remember this place fondly.“
