“The Anchorage is one of my favorite restaurants in all of Kingston the service, the food, everything about it makes you feel like it’s a home-cooked and the warmth of the people make you wanna keep coming back. Especially the bartender Stephanie she’s become like a home away from home. She makes the best original drinks. She’s one of the best bartenders in Kingston and and one best bartender in Kingston award. Go to the Anchorage you won’t regret it!! 🍻🍀“

“How did I not know about this place until a month or so ago??? We went for dinner on my husband's birthday, and everything was so good. We (he) was hungry, so we had multiple appetizers, two entrees, and shared a dessert, and we had multiple cocktails. The space is dark and quite cozy, not large, and there's a really nice, big bar. We sat at a table for two, kind of near the entrance, and the only complaint I would mention is that it was a little bit cold in the restaurant initially, and there are better places to sit than near the front door, so you could request a better table if you make a reservation. Other than that, the service was wonderful, the cocktails were really interesting, and I ended up drinking a couple of cocktails with liquors in them that I normally would not choose, but they were delicious. This restaurant is a little different in that they put more emphasis on seafood and caviar in some of their dishes - if you look at their menu, you will see. There were plenty of non-meat appetizers, and the main dishes were a little more limited, but I think there would be something for everyone (we stick to seafood and vegetables). I would definitely eat here again - beautiful ambiance, wonderful service, terrific cocktails, and really good food!“

“I could scream this place is so good. Went on a totally random whim looking for something nearby and holy hell this place is incredible in every way and if I lived anywhere nearby I would basically move in.

The vibes are amazing - such highly curated art and seating from intimate booths to living room sofas and chairs. There’s tons of varied seating up front and then more tables and a wraparound bar in the back. It feels like a cozy 70s basement bar in Greenpoint.

Then there’s the food, omg. We tried the deviled eggs, fried chicken, brisket nachos, fries, and kale salad. All were 10/10. And cocktails were also delish.

My husband and I decided to end the drought and went to celebrate our anniversary and we are so glad we did. Everything was even better than we remembered it. It started with the delicious and wonderfully fresh dinner rolls that we’ve always loved. The French onion soup was the best I’ve had in ages (I’m a French onion soup snob😂) and the baked stuffed clams were just as my husband remembered them. The dinner salad with the house dressing was cold and fresh, and we highly recommend the double cut pork chop and the jumbo shrimp francaise as dinner entrees. We both left full and more than satisfied - they never disappoint! Thank you to the folks at Stonehedge for the great meal and good service. It felt like we were coming home! “Visited Garvan’s today for the first time for a late lunch in the Pub. We started with Mexican Street Carrots. So delicious! My husband had the traditional Irish breakfast and I had the lamb stew. Both meals were excellent. Wish we could have had dessert, but we were so stuffed. The staff was friendly and very welcoming. We’re looking forward to visiting again.“

“My husband and I took a little day trip from Albany today with no real destination in mind, besides checking out Samuels Sweet Shop. As we drove through town, your restaurant caught our eye! After asking the sweet clerk at Sam’s how your food was, we decided to have lunch on her suggestion. And we are so glad we did! The interior of the restaurant is very nice and it was so warm and cozy as we entered. Your staff were wonderful. We each had a drink… I had a Bellini and he chose a beer. Our server was nice enough to look up the brewery his beer was from for us too (nice added touch that he didn’t have to do) We started our meal with calamari. The breading was so delicious and not heavy and the pineapple dipping sauce was a tasty surprise. I ordered the hot chicken sandwich and he opted for steak. My chicken was the perfect blend of hot and sweet and so good. My husband’s steak was perfectly and we both enjoyed the horseradish sauce it was served with. Both served with your homemade shoestring fries. Both, so good! We had a lovely time sitting and conversing. Your waitstaff checking in just enough to make sure we were taken care of and not pushy to get us out. Overall we loved it! We can’t wait to come back in warm weather and try your outdoor seating. I wish I had gotten our servers name, as he deserves the kudos for being so pleasant!“

We want to eat together and would arrive about 1:30PM. I thought we could secure the back room, but no was the answer. It's ok. I understand. No hard feelings. “Usually offers good bread. But is very wishy washy on their "old bread sales" prices. If it's a day old it should be discounted - period. (I have worked for almost four years in a bakery) This is being aggregated by the fact that I was not notified of this pricing structure when I asked for day old bread (with the specific intend to get a discount for something that is not fresh and won't last me as long). Had I been informed about this, I would have just bought the same bread *fresh* - for the *same price*. I feel that the omission of this fact is even done purposely to mislead customers.“

“We visited on a Friday afternoon in late June 2025. There were plenty of parking spaces in the parking lot when we arrived. There were a few that were shaded by trees but they were all taken.

The restaurant is located near the bathrooms around the corner from the information desk when you first enter. Just go in and head towards the right hallway.

We didn't actually eat here but I stepped in quick to check it out while everyone was going to the restroom.

There were a number of tables and bench seating and it looked like there was outside seating as well under a large pavilion roof. It looked like there was enough space to move in between the tables nicely with a wheelchair or stroller.

The food prices are higher than you expect but normal for a museum cafeteria like this at a tourist attraction. It looked like they had food options for picky eaters as well. Large selection of premade sandwiches and salads so you can just grab and go if you're in a hurry. The food did look fresh and not like it had been sitting there for days.

Overall the visitor center was a great place to visit. There was so much more we could've done here and explored but we were short on time. I think if we were ever in the area again we would visit and I wouldn't' hesitate to grab some food here either.“

A tiny place with a large indoor atmosphere and there's always someone you know or have seen before... It's familiar all-diners-menu-food but their specials are just that: special. With a wide variety of great food to choose from there is something for everyone. There is also a great selection of drink to choose from as well. I chose Stone Soup, a small street-front food store in Kingston near my location. This business has been in the area for more than 17 years, offering catering services and serving the local community breakfast, lunch, and dinner with healthy and delicious food. Gwenn Sorensen, the owner, and her team deliver magnificent service to our community. She is a very special person, soft, well-spirited, and highly knowledgeable about food. She comes from an Austrian European background, has a refined palate, and provides excellent recommendations to her clients. The chef, Steve, her husband, is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of New York.
I was awe-stricken by the quality and presentation of the food, as well as the excellent service her team delivered. Most of my guests asked who prepared the food, and, obviously, I passed along her information.
I knew, from the first time I met Gwenn — before I even considered hiring her as my caterer — that I would be in good hands because of her professionalism, excellent customer service, pleasant personality, and the food she and her husband cook for the daily customers.

I’ve been to Buns Burgers (and the Saugerties location as well), and overall it’s a solid choice.

It’s best described as upscale fast-food–style burgers, but with better quality ingredients. The burgers are well made, satisfying, and consistently good, and you can tell care goes into what they serve.

It can feel a bit pricey for a fast-casual experience, and the vibe is more quick and casual than sit-down dining, but the quality sets it apart from typical fast food.

Overall, a reliable spot when you want a good burger without a long wait, and definitely one I’d return to.“
