“Funny, the first thing I thought of before writing this was how nervous I was about getting back to our hotel in Athens b/c I had NO service/no GPS in this woodsy enclave. But it all turned out OK once we started driving away from one of the best nights we'd had in a long time. First of all: take the "no reservations" policy seriously. Get there early if it's suitable for you. It also means that once you grab a table, it's not yours for the night. Fair enough and true to hospitable form the staff will find a spot for you & take care of you (we ended up sharing a table with a super nice local couple, and we had so much to talk about before & after the music). We went there to see Don Byron (!!!) with an exceptional band. 5 feet in front of me and no phones, just people listening & absorbing, not phone filming. A nice change from the stadium concerts of the summer. Burger was excellent; yes, the waiter was correct in suggesting the double. Fries could have been more crunchy but that's a minor quibble. Good drinks & beer selection. Super charming spot, wonder what it's like in the Lodge? may have to come back to find out.“
“Food was good. Lighting was too bright in main dining area. Annoying ski families with iPads on full volume while playing games at their tables. Couldn't even hear the overhead music. Wasn't worth the half hour drive from Maple Crest to dine here. Will stick to Scribners next time.“
“Beautiful inside. Heard history of the building and met the owner and cook very nice man. Excellent service. Great food! Wish we lived closer. Would definitely be our regular hangout if we didn't live 3.5 hours away. We will be back whenever we can be.“
“My coworkers and I try to get provisions as often as possible. The food is delicious and so fresh. Service is great, Allie & Emily are incredible. It should also be noted that Emily the owner has done incredible things for the community, absolutely selfless & locally owned can’t get much better.“
“Ate here three times when I stayed at the Emerson it's nice because you can walk to it. It's a nice atmosphere cozy ...food can be delicious to wedding buffet food, but it's never bad...service is good people are friendly, nice bar. Considering there is not a whole lot in that area it's actually a very nice restaurant can accommodate large groups easily and especially during ski season when you don't want to be driving around all hours of the night it's really convenient. After dinner there's a fire pit between there and the Emerson which is really cool.“
