“I ordered on door dash and I can honestly say the food was good and fresh. I ordered a chicharron monfongo and a tres golpe with a beef pastelito and a papa rellena. I honestly do not understand the bad reviews. The prices are very reasonable too. Worth giving them a try.“

“Excellent and fresh Ecuadorian food, we always order lunch special, they have a variety of dishes and all tasty, most of the dishes are coast side of the county style. Cold oatmeal Ecuadorian style is delicious and very recommended. We always go back.“

“Recently went and although the food and waiter staff were great, we were expecting what we seen on here. There was no performances. An empty space. Apparently there's a 2 hr gap between brunch and dinner. The booking site allowed for a 4pm reservation. When we arrived we were accommodated but looked at funny. We found out that brunch had ended at 3pm. I was really hoping for the full experience I seen here and paid alot and didn't get it.“

“I ride hard for this restaurant because not only is the food delicious and well priced, but it is one of increasingly few restaurants in the area (or even the city...) where you can sit down at 10:30 or 11:00pm and have a full meal without being rushed. This has become a vestige of old New York because people have started eating so early since covid. Drives me crazy. Thank god for Tabare. It's also super cozy and dark, great for small groups or a date.“

“I went to a family friend’s 70th birthday party they hosted in the Atlantic ballroom. The space was modern and very clean. The food was DELICIOUS!!! And the workers, Yiselle, Estrellita, and Shorty (blonde) made the event so memorable! They paid attention to every detail, whether it was filling our water cups, collecting unused plates and of course they did it all with a warm smile. They were kind, funny and very welcoming. Even though my friend and I waited 15 minutes before we finally flagged a server to come to our table, it was so quickly made up by Brahim’s service, charm, and attention. Clearly there must have been a miscommunication regarding who was servicing our table because once Brahim took over, we had our food in drinks in a matter of a few MINUTES! Not to mention, kindness, charm, and attentiveness. It’s such a vibe with the tropical decor, and the food was so delicious. I will be coming back!“

The portions were stunning, the food was full of flavor, the menu is large, and the dessert empanadas are just as amazing as the savory ones! I ordered the oxtail ( so good make sure you use the juice )

I also ordered the chicken and cheese ( use the hot sauce) so good 10/10

I also ordered the cuben sandwich so good I wanted another one

Last thing I got was the cheesecake and guava I wish I would had ordered two.

“One of my favorite places now to eat Latino food now in NYC!!!! Visited mast week and had the Frito Mixto and ate every single yuca they had!!! Everything tasted fresh and hand made. Also got the rice and beans with the black pepper beef and chicharrón. My favorite was the black pepper beef. Was so soft and tender. The chicharrón was good but had a lot of fat (chicharrón always has fat lol) for me. The parts of meat were actually really good. For drinks we got the Pandan and it was delicious. Definitely one of the best drinks I’ve had in a while. Will surely pass and eat at this place if around!!! Btw they had Karaoke too if interested!“

I had arroz con pollo which was very good and had the coconut flan which did not taste the coconut and want as good as I would think. We had an issue with the waitresses way of attending the table. Not friendly at all and tried to charge us $16 for a drink that stayed $14 on the menu. I thought it was an error until she said that drink has 4 liquors,. I explained that it didn't matter if there were 10 liquors in the drink, when your menu states differently that's what you charge. Hope the manager or owner has a talk with her to be friendlier. Also no coffee which is weird being that it's Latin.“

“After seeing so many this place on socials I decided to give it a try. Hard to believe somewhere has happy hr during the week until 8 pm. I’ve included the happy hr/power hr menu.

I had 3 appetizers and 2 drinks my total was just over 32 dollars so rest assured that this deal is real, no hidden charges or hidden fees/taxes. Just thought it was odd that they accept all cards but you can only tip in cash (maybe this was just my case since I had such a small bill).

Service was great, I had a friendly bartender. The tamarindo flavored frozen margarita was definitely a star. The red sangria was also pretty good, they don’t skimp on ingredients, the bartender told me exactly how they make it.

For food I had the shrimp spring roll, teriyaki wings and chicken dumplings. Everything was great, arrived hot and fresh. Was surprised about the quality of the chicken wings, plenty of meat on the bones. I love how the wings were glazed and not drenched in sauce. The shrimp roll I’ll say isn’t worth the 6 dollars, one roll cut into 4 pieces. Portion sizes are small for these power hour dishes but the presentation and quality are on point.

Beautiful exterior and very nice modern interior. Bathroom could use a little attention; otherwise, I enjoyed my time here and would definitely come back if in the area. A bit of a hike from the A train (10 minute walk) which may not seem like much, but it’s winter and the walk is uphill on the way back.

Every dish we ordered was delicious but if I were to rate each dish it would go: 1.pork belly sandwich, 2.the mofongo, 3.empandas and 4.tacos. Amazing atmosphere here, such a cute place.
