“First tried their food about two years ago, and since then we have returned many times.. I'm partial to the General Tso chicken.. not heavily battered, always crispy and their sauce is one of the best I've found in the Rochester area. The portions are pretty large, prices are very fair, and the staff is always friendly, polite, and accommodating to any requests.. every time I ask for extra sauce in my order, they ALWAYS do it correctly, which I can not say for other Chinese restaurants around here.. another thing that I have been impressed with, is when you call an order in to be picked up at a particular time, they have it ready and being bagged up fresh and piping hot almost right to the minute! highly recommend them for a great meal without complaints“
“I swung in to get lunch after smelling a coworker's food. Their lunch special was amazing. Perfect portion size to not waste and at a great price. I got the Sesame chicken over pork fried rice and loved it. The atmosphere is that of a mostly takeaway spot known for quick service. I ordered and was out in just less than 15 minutes. In the future, I'll order ahead of time and pick it up. Fast service and great food!“
“We live around the corner and can’t recommend this spot enough. Their dumplings are on par with some of the best I’ve had in NYC, and the dan dan mein is incredible. They are always pleasant and accommodating. Don’t sleep on White Swan!“
“The food here was so good! I definitely recommend doing takeout since it's a one man shop and the food can take a little bit of time. However, the wait is well worth it! The flavors are simple and delicious and these are hands down some of the best noodles I have ever had. They are thick, with the perfect bite. Definitely a hidden gem.“
“First time eating here…noticed it is a Mom and Pop restaurant, and take out seems to be the most popular way of ordering. Our order consisted of Vegetables Lo Main with extra veggies, General’s Tso’s Chicken, Spring Rolls and Pork Egg Rolls, also Egg Drop Soup. We were very please with all the dishes; the flavor of each dish was really good, and amount of food was more than expected. Each dish was delivered (heat) hot, the egg rolls were crispy, the egg drop soup was exceptionally good. General Tso’s could use a little more sauce. The owners were nice and can’t wait to eat here again.“
“This might be one of the best Chinese Take-Out places I’ve been to ever! The lady that took my call order was sweet and nice and told me that my food would be ready in 10-15 minutes, which was a believable and fair time. I decided to drive to Chef King 10 minutes later and the food was already under the counter! The lady at behind the counter asked me for my phone number and confirmed with me if my order was all correct (it made me happy because they care that you get the right order and double checks). Their portions of the food were very big and was enough to make me full and it was very tasty as well. The chefs in the back that were cooking looked very determined and hard working and I must say that the cashier knows how to treat their customers right. I went back to my car after I got my food and I saw the lady take out an order that a elderly ordered and brought it to their car which was very nice of her. The parking lot was also very large and had plenty of spaces to park in and wasn’t very crowded which was great. I’m coming again Chef King! Keep up with making these tasty foods and great service! *NOTE: some people may have different taste buds but for me this kind of taste is very delicious in my opinion but seeing some other peoples reviews I think they also think it’s delicious.“
“Tried it for the first time and loved it. So delicious! Long hot pepper with beef and tendon was amazing. However, it had no tendon in it. It had tripe. It was still amazing however. Chicken cashew was awesome too. Melts in your mouth. Best food of any kind I've had in a long time. Amazing authentic Chinese.“
“I had the Singapore Mei Fun, and it was out of this world! My friend had a noodles and pork broth, which was also delicious! Also had the steamed pork belly buns ( WOW!) The atmosphere is charming and the staff was always smiling. Even the customers sitting next to us were happy, it was either a new moon or this restaurant is fantastic!!!“
“The Friday night before New Year's, we decided we were hungry for Chinese food. After checking with at least a dozen Chinese restaurants in and around our area, and learning that none of them were offering dine-in seating, we called Great Wall restaurant in Hilton and were told they offered dine-in seating without full service. That was good enough for us, and it turned out to be a great experience. The gentleman who took our orders was so courteous, polite, and accommodating to us during our dinner there. Really excellent service. The food was served up quick, hot, and was very tasty. Our serving portions of Moo goo gai pan and sweet & sour pork were surprisingly large and more than enough food for each of us. Our two dinners with beverages totaled approximately $24. Based on our first dinning experience here, we would definitely dine here again.“
“Food is always DELICIOUS & FRESH! THey always get my order right and even throw in extras. Quick and efficient with everything like when I call my order in and when I pick it up!!! Im definitely a regular! If your in the mood for Chinese food this is the place to go!! ?“
“Love this place and have been going here for decades. New management took over when the original brothers retired about a year ago now, but they have picked up the torch wonderfully. Some menu changes were needed to pair down the extensive menu, but the quality is excellent and hard to find better. Don't believe rumors of people who might have tried once during the cross over period when the new management was learning the ropes while many of the original staff also remains. This place is a keeper.“
“The pork bone ramen here doesn’t taste like traditional Tonkotsu but it is still flavorful and rich. The spicy one is quite spicy, which is a surprise given that most restaurants I’ve gone to in this area tend to adjust to the local’s tastes, which usually means less spicy. The pork bone component of the ramen though doesn't taste very strong. The non spicy version seems to have a focus in pork rather than pork bone in terms of the flavor. Meat is a bit thin but quite good, egg is great, noodles - i chose wavy, it is good also. Other add ons are also interesting choices but mostly good. The only complaint would be the broth not being the traditional flavor but it is still good.“
“We walked in for a to-go order, it was very clean and not that busy. After ordering a side of rice and two main dishes as well as some egg rolls and crab Rangoon (more like coin purses) the order came to 75$, which felt like it was really expensive. When we got back to our hotel room to eat, it didn’t seem expensive with the amount of food we had. The side of rice we ordered , which was house fried, had jumbo shrimp pieces in it and was a full container. We also didn’t realize the side of rice that came with our sesame chicken was going to be a full size carton as well. For three adults we were all able to have two plates full of food and still have leftovers. The quality of the food was amazing and it’s the best sesame chicken I have ever had, my go to for Chinese food. It was slightly spicy but not super spicy and in a slightly thinner sauce than what I’m used to but it was delicious.Anyone staying in the area should definitely try this out. I am sure the lunch specials they have make the prices drop, we were just an hour late from missing them sadly.“
“Always satisfied with my food and the service. Everything is done in 5-10 minutes and the employees are a delight. Never rude and always accommodating when you'd like to edit the order.Dietary restrictions: Can remove vegetables (onions mainly) from fried rice and for sesame chicken you can ask for no sesame seeds if your diet restricts seeds (IBS, Crohns, etc)“
“Food is delicious! Only Chinese place I've found where you can get a meal combo with your main and low-mein instead of rice. I ordered online. Food was ready fast, was super hot when I picked it up, and stayed hot on the way home. There's enough food for 2-3 meals in one combo. Pork egg rolls are great! Wish I lived closer and could come back more often.Vegetarian options: Tons of vegetarian optionsParking: Tons of parking for late dinner, since it's in a plaza.“
“The food is very good.I like the Kung Pao shrimp, fresh spring rolls and fried rice. They have a habit of forgetting to put something you've ordered in your takeout or delivery bag pretty much everytime. This time it was the fried rice that I paid extra to get with my shrimp.“
“Had an absolutely lovely time here. The staff was very friendly. We wanted a whole fish and the waiter suggested to do it two ways- crispy fried salt and pepper style and steamed with ginger scallion. The fried style was quite oily and heavy but still delicious, and the steam style was very light. Just be careful because the fried fillet pieces have bones in them. Highly recommend the watercress stir fry!! The prices seem a bit high but with declining quality at Chen Garden, we’ll probably return.“
“This is a carry-out, so don't expect a sit-down-and-dine experience. The food is really, really, really good! Our household is vegetarian, and both the previous and current owners have adapted their dishes to our needs. The veg is just fresh as hell and everything is cooked to perfection (tender, a little crisp, **NEVER** overcooked). The flavors range from "suitable for an American palate" to "Schezuan so spicy I sweat," I just need to specify when I order. The prior and current owners are really thoughtful and kind: I think this may well be the best Chinese carry-out in Rochester.I'm really glad I'm a regular - they've done incredibly well by me.“
“We absolutely LOVE China Star! The food is wonderful, the speed of service is eminently satisfactory, and the prices are most reasonable. If you're looking for Chinese food in the 19th Ward, China Star is the ONLY restaurant worth thinking about!Kid-friendliness: The nice man that owns China Star is always so patient with our autistic Cub when she's ordering or asking questions about a menu item.“
“First time ordering at this place and was delighted with the quality. We ordered chicken broccoli and sesame chicken. We also got wonton soup. We enjoyed all the food and were very happy with the crispiness of the chicken. The food was ready quickly and the prices were very reasonable.“
“My go to Chinese since I was a kid! My favorite dish is the simple chicken wing with pork fried rice and load it with their boss sauce on top. I also like their chicken with garlic sauce, pepper steak, and seafood delight! Not in the best of neighborhood. It has gotten it better over the years though.Friendly owner and workers. For the same cost of a combo from a fast food restaurants, I'll take this any day.“
“This place has delicious food. Fast service and they are always polite. This is the only place that I go to for my sesame chicken. They make it perfect!! (Which is hard to find). If u have never eaten here before u are definitely missing out!“
“Highlights of the meal were the wonton soup which was the best I've ever had with huge homemade wontons and flavorful broth that was too salty. I also enjoyed the cheese filled wontons. They were nicely fried, did not taste like old oil, and had a good amount of sweet creamy filling. These were actually better than the ones I had gotten from another location recently. The rice was ok. The pork lo mein had a decent amount of pork. The noodles were a little thin and dry, but still good. I also loved the free chinese fried noodles that were big and homemade.“
“A great spot to get your cravings satisfied! This Chinese spot reminds me of one of the spots I used to frequent when I lived in NYC. The quality of the food is great, the speed of which they prepare your order … in particular with NYC.Definitely worth a try. I say worth a try because everyone has their personal flavor pallet that I cannot account for. I just know they got the right seasoning in their cooking.Check them out - at least one.Parking: Depending on when you stop by, you usually can park right up front or close to the front. It the spots are taken - alternative parking isn’t far away.“
“I’ve been visit Revolution Chinese several times. For this time visit, their new menu rice noodle soup with a choice of three different kinds of broth and the Braised Fish menu that have four different kinds of flavor really surprise me!! There are so many add-on veggie and proteins that you can choose by yourself!! This Spicy Grilled Fish is a flavor explosion! The perfect blend of spices making every bite a delightful experience! A must-try for seafood enthusiasts!“
“Visited on Feb 14 & it’s my second time here, I first visited in 2023 in mid Spring. The owners or workers are obviously Asian, not sure if they are new management but this is why I came back because the food is extremely delicious!!! I live in another town about 30 minutes driving distance and I come all the way down here to Famous Wok because all the other Chinese food restaurants don’t even come close to Famous Wok which is comparable to NYC Chinese food. There is one other good one that’s in Geneva but Famous Wok is closer to me. There’s a restaurant called Panda Express in NYC and Famous Wok tastes similar to Panda Express which is a very popular restaurant in NYC. I highly recommend Famous Wok because the food is very, very good! Not over cooked, not burned, not stale but just excellent tasting food reasonably priced; two plates with two eggrolls only $31! Whoever reads this, you must try Famous Wok, you won’t regret it!“
