“We had a joyous birthday celebration at my son’s favorite restaurant. Akanomi’s staff and sushi chefs, itamae, excelled at all endeavors. Vivan was spot on with her suggestions and service. She anticipated all of our needs, especially with our children. The chicken soba soup, tuna carpaccio and Hawaii Rolls were our favorites. Then the sashimi / sushi mixed roll party docked. It was stunning in presentation, offerings and taste. Oh my, it was very impressive. A most wonderful time was had by all.“

Can ask for mild when ordering the dishes labeled spicy and they come mild - the kitchen staff does what you ask. When they are busy, the counter staff start to move fast and can be a bit curt. I don't take offense. They are busy because the food is excellent. As for atmosphere, the decor could use a little sprucing-up.“

When we found other establishments on New Scotland Ave closing their dining rooms by 9pm on a Saturday night, SakeCafe was graciously open, serving delicious food (we tried a little of everything from sushi to Udon) and with the best tableside service I've experienced in literally years. I understand dairy cows are naturally leaner but I’ve seen them concerningly thin..also there’s a growth like area on one cow with an open wound with flies landing on it and I hope it will be taken care of.“

“This place is amazing. I didn't know what to expect going in to the all you can eat restaurant. I was happily surprised that it's not buffet style. Servers and bussers. The restaurant is nicely styled and comfortable. The greeters and wait staff couldn't have been kinder or more professional. $28.99 is worth every penny just for that. The longest we had to wait between orders was no more than 5 minutes. The food was fresh, perfectly presented and absolutely delicious! I really can't find the superlatives to describe it. Everything combined made this experience one of the best outings I've ever had. I HIGHLY recommend this place.“

The taste of any of their produce reminds one of the reason to shop at local farms. The salted chocolate chip cookies ain't bad either. Look for habanada peppers, the fruitiness of a habanero without the heat. There's a farm store in Hudson, NY.“

This place has some of the best cocktails I’ve had, easily rivaling overpriced drinks in Manhattan - shout out to Tom!
If you have no idea what you want to drink, no worries, talk to the bartenders, they’ll help you, might even whip up something creative on the spot.
Monday nights belong to Brian the bacon guru, baby I eat pork again when I roll up here on a Monday (I pay for it later too, well worth it, lol).

The patrons are some of the most diverse and amazingly chill group of folks I’ve encountered since moving from the multicultural NYC life - Bx to be exact - to the parts up yonder.

“Today I was at the Wolf Road location on my lunch. Unfortunately when I sat down I set my drink down on the edge of my try and it spilled everywhere! I went to the counter and asked for a towel to clean up my mess. The gentleman working the register told me he’d take care of it. He came over with a towel and smile then clean up the mess I had made. He even refilled my soda which he had no obligation to do. Sorry I didn’t grab his name but he had a red hat on and curly hair in the back. I’m sure you have people making constant messes that needed attending to but you wouldn’t have known by your reaction to my blunder. I’m in a profession where service is a primary focus and this is what great service looks like. Thank you again for your help today!“

It should cover the high tops in the bar too, you have to stand around at the bar to get food and drinks, if there’s no bar seats available. Even know plenty of high tops are right there and empty.“

The ungin sope looked like it has lots of cheese but is a scam because it is ontop of a piece of bread The ribs were horrible, did not come off the bone, no red, and no juice I was not satisfied about the cholclate thunder down from under, it was not poop as I was expecting R.I.P for the minion, very cruel.“
