“We hosted an intimate wedding celebration in the elegant party room at Jean-Jacques. It was a joy to work with Donna Sullivan, who handles functions. She provided us with expert guidance in choosing the menu and every other detail. The room looked gorgeous, the food was exquisite and our guests were well cared for by Donna and the other servers. We received so many compliments from the attendees who remarked that they had a wonderful time and that the food was delicious. The bride and groom, and all of their friends and family, enjoyed themselves immensely and were able to meet, connect and have conversation in an elegant atmosphere. The party room is indeed a hidden gem at this premiere bakery and cafe in Pleasantville. My husband and I are not from the area and had never been to Jean-Jacques, but I contacted Jean-Jacques at the recommendation of a family member and couldn’t have been more pleased. It was exactly what we wanted. We had ample room for 40 guests and a jazz piano player. From the appetizers, Bellinis, Prosecco, wine and other beverages, to the sumptuous gourmet buffet dinner to the most delicious celebratory cake, everything was PERFECT. I say this as someone who has organized many events professionally over the decades. Donna Sullivan and Jean-Jacques are top notch.“

My father and I had the Madeline which was excellent. The server was really efficient and friendly. The place is immaculately clean. “Healthy & Dyckman is a great little café in the Bronx where you can get fresh, flavorful food at a reasonable price. Everything is made to order, so just be sure to order ahead or come with a little patience—there’s usually one person at the counter and one in the back preparing the food.

They offer both vegan and non-vegan options, so there’s something for everyone. Definitely a solid neighborhood spot worth checking out.“

“Great space! Tasty coffee, bright space, and kind staff. They offer free WiFi and it's a great place to work. It's not the largest space, so they ask customers limit their time to 2 hours, which is reasonable! I would come back for some other drinks.

“My party of four dined at Pelican Room, and overall, we had a really good experience. Our waiter was outstanding, and the rest of the staff was friendly and attentive.

I ordered two daiquiris, but I’m fairly certain they were actually margaritas. No complaints from me, though, because I love a good margarita! The casual food items were the real standouts. The pizza and burgers were amazing, and everyone in our group really enjoyed them. We also decided to take a chance on the $50 steak, but unfortunately, that was the one disappointment of the meal. My husband is a big steak guy, and he didn’t feel it lived up to the price or the description on the menu. Aside from the steak, we really enjoyed our visit. Great service, great staff, and some really delicious food. I’d definitely return, especially for the pizza and burgers!“

A HUGE improvement over the previous ownership when it was called the Palisades Market which opened in the spring of 2010 and was only open for a few months and then closed. It’d be awesome if they expanded their food and beverage menu. Sitting inside while it rained was super cozy, and taking in the view right after the rain stopped was the cherry on top.
