“This family run diner takes me back to the 1970s when I worked in my parent’s diner in Valois. I had scrambled eggs, sausage hash browns and coffee. I asked for extra crispy on the hash browns and they took me seriously. Delicious.
It wasn’t busy when I was there. Don’t know how it holds up when busy.“

“This is an amazing restaurant run by amazing people. Hyper local food. Attention to detail and tastes. Synergistic food and taste combinations with real in season food. This is a dining experience more than just a place to eat. We don't get a chance to get here often, but have never been disappointed. Food and service are the best in the area.“

“The owner is welcoming and very attentive to customer service and the chef is amazing. Althea's has a carefully selected variety of local wines and beers that give you a chance to taste test in one location. The liquor selection encompasses every taste and the food menu has something for everyone. Will definitely be visiting here on a regular basis.“

“Although the restaurant was busy today we were seated, waited on, and served in a reasonably amount of time. The food was good and the wait staff was friendly and accommodating, especially since we wanted a window table that had not been bussed yet.“

“This place is the Cheers of Watkins Glen.
Clean, well established, dive bar. Burger was great! Wings were ok too. The rockstar bar tender, Taylor, runs the full bar herself. Had a great night, hanging out and talking to people. Just an FYI, cash only!“

“Stopped by here this past Sunday after looking for a place to eat and so far it turned out to be awesome!Service was amazing and she was super helpful and sweet.The food was great and so were the drinks. They have an outdoor section as well. It had nothing but beautiful views there of the lake.“

“Visited this restaurant on a whim based on reviews last night after hiking Watkins Glen State Park. IT WAS PHENOMENAL!!!! My husband had the duck and I had the trout. We split the mussels and green salad. The wine the beer everything was fantastic and the staff is very attentive. Definitely going back again!!!!“
