“We came it at an extremely late time (~30-40 minutes before closing) and they were the only sushi place still open. Not only that, they had amazing menus on iPads and gave us multiple options for water. Lastly, they had our food out extremely quickly and it was extremely good, especially the fries which was very surprising. Each roll was very pretty and perfect for photos. Thank you so much for Sam and Brooklyn for their incredible service at such a late night, it meant a lot because it was after my sister’s graduation and she loves sushi. Would definitely recommend this place, the atmosphere was amazing as well.“

“This is some of the best sushi I have ever had. Super fresh ingredients and the sushi so good I didn’t require dipping sauce. I highly recommend.“

“I’ve had sushi all over America, and this is a top contender amongst the best I’ve had. The menu is on the simpler side, but don’t let that detract you from the absolute quality they deliver. The sushi rolls are larger than typical and priced very reasonable for what you get. Plus they serve warm sushi rice which not many places outside of Los Angeles do.“

“I’ve been coming to enjoy sushi since they first opened; whenever I wanted some good quality sushi to-go or like today, on a special occasion. I’m always greeted with a smile and I appreciate how accommodating they are with requests. Highly recommend!“

“It's pretty nice inside and I like the massive selection that you can choose from. Definitely cool for hanging with friends or a casual date because the vibe is pretty chill. I usually don't have to deal with a wait before being seated and the skewers are great for sharing because they're all bite sized.“

“This place has been around for a very long time, the owner is and always has been so hospitable. The food always fresh and tasty. Streamed shrimp shumai is a mustttt! I had the maki eel and dragon roll and it was great. Jazz was playing on the stereo which made the perfect ambiance for me. I will always come back.“

“I get the shrimp tempura 3 roll combo almost every week. What makes this place different from others is their CONSISTENCY! Every week I come it’s the same great tasting quality. Most spots you go to will be good one week and horrible the next . That’s not the case here . Would upload a picture but I already demolished it before I got a chance lol“

“Chef Mark Garcia is the best! Unexpectedly, my mom and I were the only ones there, so he was extra attentive and kind. We both really enjoyed every course. We had the 10-piece omakase course. Fish was super fresh, rice was made so well. My favorite piece was the otoro, and my mom's was the seabream. Pictured is the otoro and scallop because I was impressed by the scoring on the scallop. Rice to fish ratio was ON POINT - not much rice, good size piece of fish. Dessert was actually scrumptious - loved the mochi-wafer and the vanilla gelato was delicious. Definitely will come again, I think it's a great option for omakase in Queens. 10-piece omakase is only $65 per person.“

“Have been ordering for many years from this little local restaurant and finally realized I had never written a review. It must have been because our guests could not stop raving about how delicious the sushi and everything else we ordered and picked up to eat at home.
The sushi has always been very fresh, delicious and the presentation is always lovely!“

“Excellent mom-and-pop small sushi spot in the bigger shopping plaza. Parking is not easily found. Try to park on the neighboring streets.
The quality of sushi is good and they make sushi very fast while you wait even if your order is large.
They make lots of large boats orders and party platters.“

“Ocean Code Handroll Bar delivers an exceptional sushi experience with fresh ingredients and beautifully crafted handrolls. The nori is crisp, the rice is perfectly seasoned, and the fish tastes incredibly fresh. The modern, welcoming atmosphere and attentive service make it a great spot for both casual dining and special occasions. Highly recommended for sushi lovers.“
“Had dinner with the family on July 4th. We were seated promptly, the food was fresh and unlike other all you can eat places, the food came out pretty fast, plus nothing was missing, no matter how many times we placed an order.
With a 2-hour limit, we did not feel rushed to order and finish our food. The servers were extremely attentive in refilling our drinks and clearing away empty plates. Kudos to ANNIE for explaining and introducing the entire menu and the ordering policies! I've been to a lot of AYCE places and most of them just toss the i-pad at you without explaining anything. Had a wonderful time here and we will return!“

“Went to Otaki Sushi for lunch and it was worth it. The service was on point; our server was super polite, always checking in, and she made sure our hot tea was never empty. The tea is really good and pipping hot not warm.
We had the salmon teriyaki bento boxes for $14, and you definitely get your money’s worth. The salmon was fresh, no fishy smell, cooked perfectly with a nice crust outside but still moist in the middle, and not drowning in sauce. It comes with broccoli, snow peas, and corn. I like my veggies crunchy so I enjoyed it, but if you like them softer, I’d just mention that when ordering.
The bento also came with California rolls, and those were really good too. Between the portion size, quality, and service, you leave full and happy. Five out of five.“

They have a great setup for all the ingredients and the food is prepared quickly and expertly. Love the seating area. Good for 1-4 people. More would be challenging. Good prices, as well.“

“I pretty much live across the street from mikado…I’ve been getting takeout from here since I moved to Lynbrook like 8 years ago….anybody who eats sushi often enough is going picky about where they go…i am super picky……this place has always had excellent, fresh sushi….for years now“

“We order take out from here maybe once a month and we always get a large order when we do. Their food is always fresh, flavorful, and leaving us feeling fulfilled and satisfied! Their rolls have an excellent filling to rice ratio! My youngest son loves their California Rolls and anytime we get them elsewhere, he says he prefers from Sushi You. They are very thoughtful of presentation, preparation, and protection of the food en route. Super friendly on the phone and they always double check the order placed. Thanks for your excellent food and service! We'll continue to support you!“

“This is very personal review.
Im crazy of sashimi.
It is very impossible to find raw live fish in other states.
But, Only N.Y and L.A. does have this because they have so enough sashimi restaurants with high demand that they could import raw fishes with acceptable Transportation costs from korea by airplanes.
This is economies of scale.
Anyway,
Sashimi was excellent for me.
Service and Atmosphere doesn't matter to me.
I was so happy to enjoy live fish.
I recommend you to visit if you like to live seafood.“

Ohhh I can't wait to come back here again. Btw, this place is def kid friendly. Kids will love the revolving sushi an watching it go around. As well as the robot that brings your drinks lol. Such an awesome place!!“
“price is really good and it tastes great too! I got the salmon combo with 2 pieces of added salmon sashimi. The people who run the place are also very friendly, they gave great service when I messed up my order and called to change it.
idk why someone else said the area isn't safe or something - it's literally really close to flushing main st so there's always people around. the entrance is hard to spot though.“

“As I entered this place , I seen how cute and clean it looks. They are polite and patient and receiving the food was fast like max 10 minutes wait. I ordered 3 rolls, the spicy shrimp, sweet potato and spicy tuna roll, which came out to under $25 dollars and I wasn't able to finish it which I'm happy about so I can enjoy again :) I will definitely hit this spot again , I'm glad it's here“

“Fresh sushi at a very good price. It’s an old school AYCE where you have to write down your order on a piece of paper which is then collected by the waitress. I’ve been there several times now and I can say that I haven’t found a better place to eat sushi for that price.“

“Absolutely loved this place! The drinks were amazing, the food was fresh and flavorful, and everything came out perfectly. One of my favorite parts was the fresh coconut water served in the whole coconut — such a fun and refreshing touch. The atmosphere was great and the service made the experience even better. “I'd recommend this place ... sort of. We chose to sit on the dining side since it was only two of us and didn't want the "show". The service was friendly and good but not overly attentive. Our drinks were very good and a fair price (we had the Oceanside Zombie but without the Sprite added). We both ordered the hibachi surf and turf (lobster and filet mignon) which came with a house salad and clear soup, both of which we really enjoyed. The filet was tasty but the pieces were cut very unevenly so some pieces were medium rare and others were close to well done. The lobster tail was very small and too salty. I would not order it again. I was completely disappointed that the veggies were drowning in teriyaki sauce. There was no indication on the menu that they are served in sauce. I typically love hibachi vegetables but I hate teriyaki sauce! They reminded me more of Chinese takeout vegetables than Japanese hibachi. The fried rice was good but not the best. It came with lots of peas and I hate peas. Another disappointment but not a surprise was they don't offer hibachi mustard sauce. Like so many other places these days they offer yum yum sauce instead which we refused because, yuck yuck. They offered us some ice cream on the house (I think because the server knew I was very disappointed about the teriyaki sauce). It came to the table in little plastic cafeteria style cups with the pull back paper top. LOL. I'm glad it did though because the top listed the ingredients and let's just say, we immediately sent the ice cream back. All in all, not the greatest hibachi experience but also not the worst. I would maybe go back for drinks and try some other menu items ... and hold the teriyaki sauce!“

“This spot is a neighborhood GEM. I hope the people living here know this. Best Sushi and sashimi for miles around. Solid everytime. The fish is kept well and served well. The whole family works here and they are so nice and friendly. The dad who is the sushi chef has one of the fastest hands around. He just cranks the orders out like butter. The store has about 6 tables but they are never packed. But while I dine in the takeout orders are endless. This man can handle it all and still can chat with you.I wish I lived nearby.... Lucky you, Mineola...“

“Great sushi, always fresh. You can ask them to make you something specific, and they will do it.
They won’t give you attitude or force you to take from the fridge like some other supermarket sushi places do.
Always fresh and delicious.“

“I’ve been coming here on and off for many years — this place has probably been around at least 20 years. It’s one of those old neighborhood sushi spots a lot of locals know about.
This is Korean-style sushi, which is a little different from traditional Japanese sushi. One thing that makes it unique is they give you Korean spicy sauce to dip the sushi in, which actually adds a nice kick and a different flavor.
Also just a heads up, this place is take-out only, so you’re basically grabbing your food and going.
The portions are still pretty generous, so if you’re just trying to eat a lot and get full, this place does the job.
That said, prices have gone up recently and the sashimi slices seem to be getting smaller compared to years ago.
If you're looking for real high-end sushi, this probably isn’t the place. But if you want a lot of sushi for the money and a quick takeout meal, it still works.“
