“Salam Food Cart has been a staple in my foodie journey for many years now.Although I am from the Miami, FL area, it is a tradition for my family to visit NYC almost every year. Being of Bengali descent, Jackson Heights is a go-to neighborhood for us without question, especially for dining and shopping.Salam Cart is located in the beating heart of the bustling crossroads of 73rd and 74th streets , right off of 37th Ave, where multiple desi worlds and businesses collide. Although an iconic street food symbol of NYC are the halal carts, I have to say that Salam's approach to the popular rice, gyro, chicken, white sauce and spicy sauce bowl is difference because they integrate desi flavors and a few extra spices in their's that give it an irresistible twist. Also their service and portions are very generous.Every year when I make my way to New York City, this spot is a must for me. I can't wait till this year to have my fix of Salam's!“

“Food was good. It reminded me of my trip to Hong Kong in the 2010's.
You'll need patience for the food since it's just a few people. But the food is worth the wait. I waited outside and the cashier just waved me in when my order was ready. 🙂“

“These five skewers: arguably the best thing I've eaten in this city for under $15. The highlight are the mushroom / scallops wrapped in bacon, grilled over coals... For $2.50?! Pinch me, I'm dreaming
It's a grungy corner after dark, but right above the Grant St subway station.“

“I went to a lot of restaurants in New York that were much fancier than this cart but this was my favorite food of the day. The cheong fun was gooey and had qq and a decent amount of meat. For $5 for the large, it was such a deal and fed three of us as a snack. I would go back in a heartbeat and order more. Wish we had this in Chinatown in Houston.“
“The cart has been here for years and still remains my favorite place to get take-out for rice noodles. They are completely made to order and the owners are super friendly, the noodles super delicious and budget friendly. There’s a variety of options/combinations/sauces you can get with your rice noodles and I honestly don’t think you can go wrong with any of them.“

“I am a chicken girl and can completely without reservation recommend any and all chicken dishes and sandwiches on the menu. I have had them all over and over. Also the French fries and green salad. They are my go to usually twice a week.Believe the listed menu needs to be updated price wise but still the best deals in town. A HuGE plus you have the Richard Tucker (google him) Park right across the street for seating. Linda“

“We saw the hype online and had to try this during our visit to Flushing, but it was disappointing. I think we are just not fans of this type of jian bing. Maybe those who really like jian bing would love this place. We are glad we gave it a try. It was $6 for one jian bing.“

“Located in front of Paris Baguette, the BBQ truck has some of the best skewers I've ever tried. They transport you to the heart of Xinjiang with its local flavors, grilled in front of you. My two favorites were the lamb and beef skewers, and the chicken skewers were also very delicious.“

“I was walking by the stand when the amazing smell of the food made stop immediately. I went in and had the pork skewer dipped lemon sauce and it was AMAZING!!! Good amount of meat for the price and great service as well. Next time I come, I’ll take 5 of them and bring them home for dinner.“

“Been to so many smoothie places asking for #21 the health shake but nobody can do it like he does it, he’s very nice and understanding as well as quick with making your drink. I’ve experienced others who don’t pay attention to my instructions for the order or who take a while but he never fails to deliver the best smoothies quick. Definitely a must visit for great smoothies, wouldn’t recommend any other spot.“

“The auntie at this cart pays attention to the details and does not skimp on the sauce, she used a scissor to make small openings in the noodle for the sauce to seep through to the bottom, giving a nice coating of sauce to every part of the noodles instead of letting most of the sauce pile up on top. Prices are reasonable as well!“

“Had to find a new place to eat halal after a bad experience at the 2nd Ave halal guys. The food here was way better and cheaper. You can't go wrong with Farook's. Also he provides a a loyalty card that gets you a free meal after 10 purchases. If you like spicy I recommend the green sauce and red sauce.“

“I got to try some unique global flavors at this fair: NOLA crawfish sandwich from Parish Po'Boys and a Raclette melt baguette sandwich from Raclette Street. Both costed about $20 so keep that in mind if you are used to the lower prices at Queen’s Night Market.“

“Love that the protein has veggies rather than the protein just by itself. Def more flavorful and not as dry as you'll find it on other halal carts (where you may heavily rely on the white sauce to deal with the dryness). Nice guy too, and if you want more or less veg just let him know.“

“This was my first flushing BBQ cart and I can definitely say I am now hooked and will be trying others. I had just left Izakaya Nana and Jue Wei cart's skewers are imo on par with those of expensive restaurants. The menu was STILL so extensive at near closing time (12:30 AM). $2 per skewer was so reasonably priced. The level of spice and smoky flavor was pretty much spot on to what you would get in China. If it's late at night, park on Prince St as there were nosy traffic cops snooping around 39th Ave.“

“A gentleman was outside the truck assisting with ordering and payment. We ordered quesadillas (middle picture) & a tlacoyo (1st picture). He let us know they have different cook times and asked if we wanted everything served together or as it was ready. Food was great! Not too heavy or greasy. The quesadillas are handmade tortillas that are thin, light but pliable and filled with a small amount of cheese and your choice of filling. They are topped with crispy, refreshing lettuce and crema with both green or red salsa on the side. The tlacoyo was a thicker tortilla with melted cheese and filling inside and again topped with refreshing lettuce and crema and salsa on the side. We sat on the side where stools are provided. Great food and friendly service.“
