“It was a Saturday night and they had some artist singing on stage which was awesome. The food was absolutely out of this world. The chim pum callao had all the main traditional dishes of the house, Causa, choros a la chalaca, ceviche, chaufa de mariscos and chicharron de pescado. Everything tasted fresh and well balanced. The weekend specials were the bomb!! Papa rellena en salsa de mariscos was addicting. I also loved their drinks, all of them highly recommended, well decorated and the fact that it comes with the smoky in it its just a plus, have not seen it anywhere at all. All of the servers were smiling with a positive attitude all the time. The service was A+++ as well as the place itself with the two chimneys makes you feel very cozy and warm. One of the servers told me that they were going to start serving BRUNCH on Saturdays and Sundays. Definitely will be back for Brunch!!!!“

“I went in the afternoon to eat and the food was delicious, they have a new menu and a new chef??, in the new menu they handle Peruvian/Japanese food and the “airport” dish is highly recommended, it was delicious, very good portion (two people ate and in the photo we had already finished half a plate because it was so delicious). At night I returned and the atmosphere was 10/10, the crazy hour spectacular, the music and the attention 20/10“

“I went to Tozton today to celebrate my birthday after seeing an ad on Tiktok and it was definitely a great decision.
The food was delicious, the sautéed loin, the green noodles, the pavilion, the ground beef cakes and the shredded meat cakes. Natural juices, drinks like margaritas and mojitos; on point, ten out of ten.
The attention of all the waitresses was excellent, they even decorated my table with balloons. Thank you Emily and Natalia for your impeccable service.
It was also easy to find parking near the restaurant. It is very spacious and tables can be organized for large birthday celebrations.
Totally recommended in Astoria.“

I also had a lemonade the most delicious Limonada, it was prepared irl. Also has a nice bar set up and a cute background to take selfies. I really like this place. Hope they’re here for a long time. “They are always so kind and wonderful at this location. When ordering my take out order, the staffer was so kind and explained everything. I also had groceries with me so my hands were full. I sat down and waited. He then brought over the bags and apologized for the wait. Excellent service. Excellent food. Excellent ambiance. My food was fresh and hot still when I got home. I traveled an hour to this location from my house and it was worth it.“

“This place is good, certainly unique in their food fusion. I wouldn't say it has a "wow" factor and the BBQ ribs are pretty standard...it's missing something, like a sauce but worth a try.
Prices have gone up, attached latest menu.“

“The chicha morada pitcher was delicious. Jalea Grande was amazing. Bistec encebollado was a smoky flavor that was delectable.
Tacu Tacu con Cabrito was an acquired taste that I was unable to stomach. I was only able to eat a few spoonfuls of the fried beans. The goat meat was good, though.“

“I really love it here. The workers are very nice and the food is delicious. The decor inside is very cultural and has inspired me to visit Peru! The green sauce is delicious. Along with the rotisserie chicken and sweet plantains. I usually do take out or pick up, but one of these days I will sit down. They have an amazing bar too. Thankful to have them in the neighborhood.“

“Normally my go to Peruvian spot was Pio Pio on Woodhaven blvd which appears to have closed. I was craving Peruvian one night walking home from work and saw this place not far off the fresh pond M train. That was about a month ago and I’ve had it about 5 times since. I sometimes just go in to get some green sauce to throw on some leftovers and enhance any meal. Whenever I bring it into work everyone says how good it smells and asks where it’s from. If only they knew how good it tasted too which is why I took the time to write out this review. I must’ve passed the restaurant 100 times not knowing how good the cuisine is. Conveniently located in Ridgewood and with ample room to eat inside, this spot has become my new favorite Peruvian spot replacing Pio Pio by a landslide.“

“Don Pollo Astoria stands out as a wonderful Peruvian restaurant, offering a delightful blend of authentic flavors with their own unique twist. The food is truly delicious, with their green sauce particularly notable for its vibrant taste that enhances every dish. Their menu also features a variety of delicious drinks that perfectly complement the Peruvian cuisine.
What makes Don Pollo Astoria even more special is their late happy hour, which allows patrons to enjoy discounted drinks and appetizers later in the evening, enhancing the overall dining experience. Adding to the ambiance, they often feature live music, creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere for diners.
Beyond the food and ambiance, the employees at Don Pollo Astoria are exceptionally friendly, ensuring a warm and welcoming visit every time. Whether you're a local or a visitor, I highly recommend Don Pollo Astoria for anyone seeking a memorable dining experience with excellent Peruvian food, great drinks, and a vibrant atmosphere.“

“Came here to dine out on the weekend. Place is small but not horrible. About the only thing ai can complain is the J train passing by but if you enjoy your food like I did, your mind will ignore the sound.
Ordered chaufa mixed rice and it was delicious with the excellent seasoning, it was salted perfectly and I could taste the ginger which most chaufas seem to lack.
Other people with me ordered a steak with green spaghetti that I had a taste of, the spaghetti was amazing! Everyone but one person enjoyed their food but that particular person ordered fries and steak which I never really recommend except when youre in a fast food place. Not that the fries were bad but if you go to a restaurant order their typical platters to enjoy.
Very satisfied here would definitely come back again. Might be me but this Jamaica ave location seasons their rice better than the Rockaway location.“

“One of the best take out values you can still get. The new Peruvian places are fancier and look nicer to eat-in but this place has the better food. They give you gigantic portions for a great value. A whole roasted chicken, chicken fried rice, plantains or French fries, salad, and their great sauces with a 2 liter soda or water - about two days worth of for 2-3 people ?, all for $35-40 bucks.“
