“I came in there over the summer with my wife and my grandson, Gerald. We were greeted by a young lady by the name of Brooke. Let me tell ya, she was a wonderful waitress to mi familia y yo! She brightened up out dinner experience and made the whole restaurant glow with positivity. I have never experienced such amazing service in my 73 years of life. “We had an incredible experience at Luca in Stony Brook! Came with a group of six friends for a family-style dinner, and everything from the service to the food was outstanding.
Our server, Kacey, made the night—she was incredibly attentive, funny, and personable, with spot-on recommendations throughout the meal. The cocktails were excellent, and they helped me find the perfect glass of wine to pair with our dishes.

The menu had something for everyone, including one pescatarian in our group who had plenty of delicious vegetarian and seafood options.

We shared a range of dishes:
First Course: Artichoke & Crab, Summer Squash, Calamari, and Meatballs—each dish was fresh and flavorful.
Second Course: The Squid Ink Agnolotti and Braised Rabbit Paccheri—both unique and beautifully balanced.
Third Course: Lamb Chop, Potato-Crusted Halibut, and the Wagyu Skirt Steak (a daily special)—all cooked perfectly, with layered textures and bold flavors.

The portions were exactly what you'd expect from a restaurant of this caliber—elegant but rich and satisfying. Everyone in our group left with very full (and very happy) bellies. Each of us had a different favorite dish, which says a lot about the variety and quality of the food. Can’t wait to come back!“

“Incredible. One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Every dish was better than the last. The fried little necks were next level and that’s coming from a native New Englander. Can not recommend enough.

The chef is owner as well and cares about every single thing that leaves his kitchen. The prices are beyond reasonable. You can truly tell he just wants to give people an incredible meal at a fair price.

“Really nice place with a rustic, romantic vibe. The food and service was excellent. Served hot and nicely portioned. Cesar salad was your with anchovies and dressed just right. Artichoke and spinach flatbread appetizer was excellent also.
My girlfriend got the Tuscan chicken over spaghetti and was a really nice portion. It needed a little salt but otherwise was perfect. I got the orrechetti with sausage and broccoli rabe and was very good. Sausage could have been cooked a little less and there could have been more broccoli rabe, but was still enjoyable. One other thing, they asked if I wanted cheese sprinkled on top, which I loved, but they used the wrong cheese. Instead of sprinkling grated Romano, they spooned on shredded parmesan. Not really appropriate for that dish.

“Whether you dine in or order pizza to go, you will be happy you went to Mama's. I love coming here on pasta nights (Monday and Tuesday) for the (very reasonably) fixed price meals that include soup/salad, entree, dessert, and wine. There's always enough to re heat for lunch the next day. If you have friends from out of town that want to try real long island pizza you should order from Mama's. I moved away and I cry every time I eat their za. The servers are so hard working and friendly. Shout out to Christy!! She's killing it!! Ps - pasta nights get BUSY so it would be smart to make a reservation.“

“We, thankfully, had a reservation on a Saturday night. We had a spacious table for 4. Brittany was our waitress. She was wonderful. She introduced herself, took our drink orders, gave us time to look over the menu, told us about the specials, was attentive to make sure we had everything we needed and wanted. The appetizers she suggested were delicious. The courses were nicely spaced apart. Each course was cleared from the table before the next course was served. We never felt rushed. The food was excellent. Atmosphere was quiet to enjoy a conversation. We will certainly be returning.

Between Kaitlyn giving me a sample of one of the wines because I told her I was picky about wine and Zack accommodating an absolutely ridiculous request, they were all just amazing people. I’m autistic and I make some ridiculous requests sometimes, but Zack didn’t even bat an eye. I have pet rats and I saw that broccoli rabe was on the menu as a side, so I asked if I could take home like a single piece and he didn’t even blink, he just said to remind him before I left.
