“Oh my gosh, so we went out to dinner this evening after going to the movies. We went to Winfield Pub in South Buffalo. All I can say is WOW. My husband saw that it had a 4.7 star rating and we'd never been there. From start to finish it was a wonderful experience. They have several different beers to offer and even some seasonal ones. Their drink menu is extensive but not daunting and their drinks are super creative. For our starters we got the hop fries with a garlic parmesan aioli which regulars call "crack sauce" I can see why....it's SO good! My husband got the Snout and Stout which is their take on french onion soup but with a pork broth and milk stout added to it with pieces of pork in it. We both tried it and that too was truly delicious it was a great spin on a classic dish. For our entrees my husband got the ribeye and I got the bbq mac and cheese. My husband loved his ribeye it was cooked perfectly and the sides were amazing. My mac and cheese was probably one of the best mac and cheeses I've ever had. They added burnt pork ends and blue cheese to it and it adds such a depth of flavor and richness this comfort food feels so fancy. I enjoyed it thoroughly. For dessert we shared a piece of their Guinness cake. Again, it was rich and delicious the frosting wasn't overly sweet. We brought a little bit of everything home and are looking forward to eating the rest of it tomorrow. Our server was absolutely lovely and so kind and funny. The chef at this restaurant is so creative and thoughtful with every aspect of the experience right down to bringing us the bill in a Christmas Card. This place is 5 stars!“

“Like a light at the end of a dark tunnel, Rodney’s came to the rescue! We initially went for lunch at a very new, trendy new spot on Lakeshore Road. After a 20 minute wait, we were seated. The place was so loud! No band. No loud music. Just loud everything else. People talking, dishes clanking and who knows what else, it was so loud. There’s no way you could carry on a conversation without shouting. So we left right away. Next we tried a popular seafood restaurant nearby and were treated like second-class citizens just by inquiring how long the wait was. Out of there. Rodney’s was almost across the street so we went there. Best idea ever! Our hostess was friendly. Our server was a hoot. Funny, helpful and got everything exactly right. The food was excellent too. A cozy, clean spot right by the lake. I recommend Rodney’s highly.“

“Hoak’s was such a cool place to visit right on Lake Erie. I had the chicken dinner and a bowl of their French onion soup. The soup was pretty good, a little too much pepper. The chicken was meh. Their blue cheese is homemade and very good. There aren’t really any healthy options at this restaurant. The service was pretty good. Sat right away and got our food right away. It was cool seeing all the photos on the walls of the history of the restaurant.“

“Just moved back to town, was extremely excited to go there, but like most things, it just wasnt the same. Im not sure why they decided to add Mango to the Jerk Chicken Sandwich. It had that spicey flavor I was looking for, but the addition of the mango made it sloppy and changed the sandwich and the flavor I had missed. All 3 of us were disappointed in the addition of the mango. Our server was cold and didnt engage us at all. Once we got our food, we sat there for while in what was a pretty dead restaurant, and yet she couldnt be bothered to check on us. I was very surprised by there reduced hours.“

“Stopped in to get some food because the kids were hungry. I went in by myself first to make sure it was a family friendly place. The bartender was also the cook for the day and she assured me it was fine and seated us in the back. The food was fantastic and she was very efficient and friendly. “Couldn’t wait to come try Dinosaur BBQ and it was AMAZING! I love BBQ and this was by far the best. The Hamburg location is nice the staff from the moment you walk in the door. “While we have always enjoyed our meals at The Mansard in the past, our last two visits have been uninspiring. Our most recent visit on 8/3 was average at best. The bartender had BOTH sliding glass doors (no screens) open in the bar area causing swarms of flies to circle us our ENTIRE meal, in the dining area. Although friendly, our waitress said there were no specials that evening, after I specifically asked what the specials were. I overheard other waitresses telling patrons what the specials were, so I knew there WERE specials. The musty smell of the stained drapery needs to be replaced ASAP, as the odor hits you as soon as you get to the front door. Please be better and ACT like the "fine" dining restaurant you want to be! Very disappointed...The food is the ONLY thing worth coming to The Mansard for...We miss Steve!!“

A lot of it had to do with the very sweet kind server Stephanie. She really has a aura of happy genuine positivity about her. She really brings something wonderful to her job/workplace.
