“Me and Bae had some errands to run in the bronx and decided to get some food. He's been years back but it was my first time trying them. As soon as we walked in there was a line that was wrapped around the whole place. It's a Lil confusing but we found the back of the line and slowly but surely made our way to the front. We ordered two beef and chicken patties, two coco bread, one meatloaf(beef filled coco bread) and two carrot juice and a ting soda. They get u up outta there fast tho and it's only cash. When we were leaving the line was forming outside the store so just be patient. We couldn't wait to get to the car and tear into everything. The first one I grabbed was the beef and while it was good it wasn't as seasoned as I thought it would be. But the chicken I really enjoyed and it was a Lil spicy. I ate that with the coco bread. Bae put his whole beef patty in his coco bread and devoured it lol but even he admits the beef was better back in the day. All in all I Def will be back for that chicken patty and soft delicious coco bread. Oh and that carrot juice was delicious as well Def recommend grabbing one!“

“Used to go the Mount Vernon shop when I was a kid, then after the fire and they moved to the Bronx..followed them down there- EVEN when the current owner bought from the gentile older man from MV... "Paul" has kept up standards. The Coco Breads are THE BOMB - I'd know, I was taught to make them at the bakery my Granny worked in Mo'bay every summer! A MUST HAVE !!!! Go out of your way. “I found Bertha after doing a search for two tier custom cakes in the Bronx. I was unsure and a little skeptical about ordering online from someone I couldn’t physically meet but I took the chance and ordered 7 dozen cupcakes and a two tiered chocolate cake with chocolate filling for my daughters sweet sixteen and they came out so beautiful and delicious. She asked me to send a pic of a cake that I liked and she replicated the cake so well with my own lil spin on it. She did an awesome job and I would definitely recommend her and buy cakes from her for any event I may have in the future. Also, she is much cheaper than most bakeries that usually would charge $800 for the cake I wanted. I only paid $280 and the cake was just as beautiful as the cake another bakery quoted. “The cannolis here are INCREDIBLE... 10/10!!! The cookies are pretty good, too, as they are not overly sweet and go perfectly with coffee or tea. However, their mini cakes are not the best, which is why I'm docking a star. I ordered a mini tiramisu which was dry and seemed to have a frosting layer rather than a creamy mascarpone, which was disappointing. Overall, awesome bakery! I would just say to avoid the mini cakes.“
