Everything we ate was phenomenal, especially the croquetas. The dining area is chic yet cozy, with mellow music at just the right volume. Finally, our waiter Ibai was easily the friendliest and most efficient server we've met in months; he made an already great meal into a fantastic dining experience. “It was really delicious to eat gambas and garlic bread -like bread and spanned sour and salty sauce.
(Sardine) BoQuerones) It was so delicious to eat sweet and sour sauce with potato chips with one side of the sardines and sauce.
Lastly, the paella (Boquerones) that everyone loved so much that there was no preference.
It is almost the basis of Spanish cuisine, which is a fantasy of the seafood and spanes that are unique to the gospel.
Churos and chocolate are also delicious for dessert ..“

“I came into town for the weekend to celebrate an extended birthday with friends who live in the city! One of my girlfriends suggested we eat here for lunch, she had been and had enjoyed it previously.

WOW, it was delicious! I’m so happy we ended up here!

We had lunch on Sunday around 2:30p, the place was pretty packed and had cleared out by the time we finished. The ambiance is warm lighting and cozy! The service was spectacular by everyone who helped us — in particular Maria! She was so sweet and kind, attentive and funny too! Thank you Maria — you elevated the entire experience!

Now let’s talk food! Between 3 of us we ordered:
- 2 sets of meatballs (they were that good!)
- shishito peppers
- lamb skewers
- yogurt & veggies
- charcuterie board with jam Serrano, manchego and another cheese (which also comes with dips, bread, bread & tomatoes, veggies & fruit - carrots, cucumbers, peppers, grapes)
- the chocolate basca cheesecake

Everything was SO tasty! I have no complaints about a single dish, we left so satisfied and not overly stuffed! Hats off to the chef for the quality of ingredients!

We came after dinner at neighboring Fulgrance on their recommendation, because of El Pingüino’s fortified wine list.

It was a lovely experience - nice calm place to enjoy a thoughtful menu.

Don’t miss the basque cheesecake with any staff recommendation on beverage. Did we need to eat that after a full dinner? No. Was it worth it? Yes.“

I stopped in for tapas and the lovely gentleman with the amazing curly hair and glasses served us. 1 star removed because of the poor energy from the manager who did not acknowledge us until the second time she passed us entering and then seemed to interrupt our waiter while he was closing us out to rush him to close o it another customer. If it were not for the amazing service from others, I would give this place even less stars.“

“We went to Cecily for an event in June, and got to try some of their dishes.

The inside is a bit smaller than I thought, or it is more of an obscure dining room shape. They have a fully stocked bar, and a super friendly and talented bartender.

We had a few cocktails; Pink Panther, Cecily Manhattan, and Passenger Pigeon. The Pink Panther was not pink as I had hoped, but it was tasty. Fruity and elegantly sweet, really nice cocktail. Cecily Manhattan was strong, reminded me of Old Fashion. A nice, relaxing drink in the evening. Passenger Pigeon was aromatic and flavorful, with just the right amount of sweetness.

Food we tried:
Grilled Scallops had a great aroma of the yuzu. They were plump and soft, perfect texture, delicious!
Little Gem Caesar was super fresh. The piparra pepper had a nice little kick, Anchovies gave bold flavor and added texture.
Mussel Toast was divine! Garlic aioli is the bomb, while chili butter gives subtle kick that is so delightful.
Half Roasted Chicken was super moist, and packed with flavor. So tender, easy to cut with butter knife. It had crispy exterior, each bite was amazing.

For dessert, we had Mom’s Strawberry Cake. It was magically delicious. I believe they added strawberry compote into the whipped cream, making it extra flavorful and tasty. It had loads of fresh strawberry compote under the cream.

The staffs were nice, they took a really good care of us during the event. The drinks and food were great, we enjoyed them all. This is such a neighborhood gem, we would love to go back again in a near future to try more of their dishes!“
