“Yummy food and delicious, flavorful drinks. I got the angus burger and my friend got the sliders and truffle fries. I really enjoyed the burger, the sauce was great, however, I didn’t taste any cheese in it. The fries were good as well. My friend got the autumn yuzu peach fizz cocktail and I got the el Diablo. The inside of the restaurant is relatively spacious, cute and colorful, and has chair, booth, and bar seating and several tv’s. The staff is kind and service is quick. I really enjoyed my brief conversation with one of the owners (Ro) about Ireland! We walked in today (Saturday) around 4:15pm and it wasn’t crowded, no wait for a table. Noise level inside is quiet as well.“

“All you have to remember is: Chicken Cutlet Chili Cheese California on a Wedge. Music to my ears. I crave this sandwich. The chicken cutlet is thin and crispy, the chili is spicy, and the mayo lettuce and tomato cuts the spice. It's truly the perfect sandwich and every bite leaves you wanting to come back for more and more and more.“

Opinions about this Mamaroneck institution are as strong and mixed as their cocktails, but as various bars open and close all around it, this place stays true to itself. It's a neighborhood dive bar of the sort that are ubiquitous in my native Wisconsin, but rare gems in the NYC metro. Craft cocktails and small batch IPAs will not be found here, but simple mixed drinks and domestic drafts are always on hand. Darts and a few other bar games are cheap or free, and the beautiful original window storefront opens up wide to let the warm air in on summer nights. I have had some great memories here and it always feels like a sip of home.“

“Modern on the Rails is a solid dinner spot. It’s a great location and the ambiance/decor is a total vibe. It’s definitely got an upscale feel, while also not being stuffy or fancy. You could easily go here for dinner in jeans and not feel out of place, but also if you wanted to dress up for a date night or special occasion, it would also be appropriate.

The space is also really nice and is a good option if you were having a larger group or wanted to do a celebratory meal.

The staff is friendly and attentive.

The food is solid and the price is reasonable for what you are getting. They brought over bread to start and the bread was nice and warm. We started with the burrata app which weirdly came with 3 pieces of medium bread (same as the basket, but toasted or grilled). It felt like it should have been smaller crostini type bread and also more pieces given the app, but it didn’t matter because we had the warm bread basket. The app itself was nice, but not overly special.

For dinner we had the burger and the squid ink pasta with salmon. The burger was good, but the sweet potato fries needed any kind of seasoning, even salt. The pasta was the best dish of the night. The salmon was cooked perfectly, the sauce was delicious and the pasta was great.

“I would definitely recommend the ceviche pescado (fish only) or mixto (mixed with seafood. Light and refreshing. The chicken is very good and moist. You can order a quarter chicken which is convenient for a child. The portions are generous.“

“I came here on a wednesday night with my wife after a day of travelling and our waitress Nia was very helpful. My wife had some questions about the menu and Nia was very knowledgeable. We don't eat out often and Nia helped us understand the promotions on the menu. The drinks were strong and did not taste watered down. Overall I am very happy with this experience. “Emma's continues to be a local treasure! They are consistently the most accommodating restaurant with a genuinely wonderful waitstaff. I never write reviews but after last night I'd feel very remiss. I had a “girls night out” with my 4 1/2 year old granddaughter! Emma's was her personal choice. As a grandmother, nothing could have disappointed but there are very few restaurants in Westchester who take a reservation for 2 on Saturday night and shower you with so much attention. I need to call out our server, Richard D. because he personally attended to the dining comfort of a child on a busy night. Our female busser was also so sweet and friendly. Thank you, Emma's! “Thirty (30!) of us came to The Cabin for the very first time for a special midday Sunday private gathering, most from from Manhattan or Brooklyn & other parts of NY, but also from NJ< DC, South Carolina and even New Mexico, completely new to this chosen location, and we were stunned by both the quality and quantity of the servings, especially at such a reasonable price.
Five of of 7 at our table who had salmon were knocked out by the huge, yet still perfectly delicious portions, certainly the largest and tastiest I'd ever seen for, again, what was a very modest price. The rice was also unexpectedly zesty, enhanced by cinnamon (?) or some other wonderful herb or spice that we enjoyed but couldn't exactly identify. String beans were good, and we really were also pleased by the warm, seemingly fresh-baked rolls, the zesty caesar salad and our perfectly fine glasses of wine, both pinot noir & chardonnay.

Overall, a terrifically satisfying dining experience, especially at such a bargain rate.“

Very flexible and accommodating with the menu resulting in many more offerings to choose from for those with challenging dietary restrictions. The staff created a special table arrangement for our group given mobility limitations. And then the wait staff consistently demonstrated their light touch at the right moment to meet our needs, answering questions, providing refills and options for consideration. I look forward to dining at Mariposa more regularly and hope that you will also.“
