I spent 25 years in high end seafood, (wholesale, retail, private chef, and catering) and was blown away by the quality of the fish! The chef was masterful as he balanced every single course (in had the 16) to perfection. He was incredibly skilled and a wonderful artist. The selection of fish from Japan was amazing. He explained every course as he served us. This place is a gem. I have eaten at just about every single sushi restaurant around and on see no reason to go anywhere else anymore. The place is clean and beautiful, the owner and staff were friendly and very interactive. The preparation and care that went into everyone was second to none. There's a large sushi bar perfect for Omakase, which is what my husband and I have ordered. Fish is very fresh and each sushi is skillfully prepared and perfectly seasoned, no further condiment is needed. For the quality of the fish it is well worth $90, consider the price elsewhere especially in the city are way higher. Among all the delicious sushi on the omakase menu I especially like toro, salmon with roasted tomato and eel with avocado (I know, who knew the most simple dishes will be the ones that impress you the most :) They also give you complimentary edamame as starter which is kinda nice. Compare to other upscale Japanese restaurants with nice deco but just okay food, Hana is definitely a hidden gem on Long Island waiting to be discovered.“
