The food is perfect every time ( No exaggeration, 50 visits, 50 times getting exactly what I asked for) I've tried everything on the menu and they're all good. **If you're ordering fries be prepared, it's usually and extra 3 or 4 minutes because they make them to order**. “Simply the best taco spot in the area for true street-style tacos. I used to drive all the way to Queens to get tacos like these, and now I’ve found this gem just 2 minutes from home.

I ordered the birria tacos and they were absolutely amazing. The meat quality was excellent and the portions were very generous. The birria consommé was perfectly seasoned and came with a grilled jalapeño that added the perfect touch. The tacos also came with fries, and the prices were very reasonable for the amount of food.

I also tried the chorizo tostadas, and once again the portion size and flavor were incredible. The condiments were fresh and well balanced, and those came with fries too. There was so much food that it was easily enough for two people.

I can’t wait to go back and try more items from the menu. If you’re looking for authentic, delicious street-style tacos, this is the spot.“

Wow, hands down some of the best if not best tacos and tostadas we've ever had. All of the meats were very flavorful and the tacos were loaded with meat and toppings. Great value for the money. “My Dominican wife and I have tried almost every Hispanic restaurant on Long Island. We love authentic Mexican, Peruvian, Ecuadorian, Colombian, Dominican, Puerto Rican, all types of real Hispanic food. The food from this place is absolutely unbelievable. “I’m so glad Cactus Cafe opened! We’ve been three or four times already—eating there, picking up takeout, and ordering through DoorDash—and every time the food has been fresh and delicious.

We’ve been trying something different on each visit. The wings with Cactus marinade were awesome, the corn & chicken chowder was great, and I’m a huge fan of their enchiladas. I think we’ve tried all of them by now! On Mondays, they have a great deal: two enchilada orders for $13. They seem to have different specials every day of the week, plus a late-night burrito special. We’ve also tried a variety of tacos, and every one has been excellent. The portions are generous across the board.

It’s very clean and cute inside, and the staff is so friendly and helpful every time we go. It’s a great location where you can sit and eat, though it’s mainly set up for takeout. They serve beer and margaritas, too. I’d love to see it become a full-service sit-down restaurant with a bar one day!

I only took a few pictures on our last visit, but I’ll make sure to take more next time. I promise, everything we’ve tried has been amazing! We’re excited to keep working our way through the menu, and I truly hope they do well here.“

“Always incredibly clean. Food is always well prepared and still hot after the drive home. Prices have gone up a bit, so you'll definitely be spending more here than Chipotle or one of the larger chains. But all in all good Mexican takeout, you can't really go wrong.“

We usually get a few tamales (green, red, and/or rajas) and they're always hot, fresh, and delicious. I've also gotten a few breakfast sandwiches here (bacon, egg, avocado) and they're also great.“

“Even though our son is a professional chef and we think of ourselves as "foodies," we have only limited experience with Caribbean cuisine. That's going to change, because we will absolutely go back to Taino's to explore more of the menu. We went around 6-ish on a Monday night to celebrate my birthday, and the only other patrons were at the bar. They appeared to be regulars, and the vibe was warm and casual. Coconut shrimp is one of my guilty pleasures and I order it every time I see it on a menu. Tainos' was quite possibly the best I've ever had: enormous shrimp coated in batter and flaked coconut, fried to crispy perfection and served with a to-die-for coconut dipping sauce. I'm also a skirt steak junkie, so ordered the Churrasco al la Parrilla which is served with a large serving of rice, bowl of red beans and chimichurri sauce, all presented beautifully, complete with an orchid. I was so full from the shrimp, I took nearly all of my entree home. Our lovely waitress (also the bartender) packed up my leftovers so they were just as attractive and appetizing the next day. Everything, including the steak, reheated perfectly. Granted, at my age I have a small appetite, but I'll be finishing the second (!) half of my steak, rice and beans tonight (night #3). Our son ordered the chicken Canasta de Platano (plantain 'baskets') appetizer and grudgingly gave me only a tiny (delicious) taste. Husband ordered fried cheese, and ate a whole piece even before I could take a photo. Again, I was allowed only one bite, but know I'll order my own the next time we're there. He also ordered the skirt steak, but our son tried the Colombian platter (steak, avocado, pork cracklings, fried egg, rice and more), which he loved. He gave me the sweet corn cakes which I devoured. Can't wait to try "mofungo," which seems to be a signature dish. The oxtails look fabulous, too.“

They also serve a delicious green sauce, the prices are reasonable, the food is made to order and very fresh. Would recommend this place for an authentic experience. Excellent dishes and very tasty!“
