“THIS is the place to cater your next affair ! Don’t hesitate, book it now ! My wife and I recently experienced the joy of hosting my son and daughter-in-law’s wedding rehearsal dinner for seventy family members and out-of-town friends. We have been regular customers at Umberto’s Pizzeria for years, next door to the restaurant, getting our weekly Sunday or Monday night pizza pie. Nevertheless, we had never previously ventured into their restaurant next door. What a pleasant surprise ! What a smart decision to book the party here at the renowned Umberto’s of New Hyde Park. The second floor of the restaurant opens up into a spacious, light-filled, warm and welcoming room, big enough to feel like a proper celebration event space. There was plenty of room for our family and friends to mingle and even plenty of space for the several toddlers in attendance to sit and play, and run around. They enjoyed the party as much as anyone ! The catering menu provided a wide variety of choices from appetizers, salads, pastas and main courses from which our son and daughter-in-law selected from to satisfy the preferences of all of our guests. The food was delicious, as we’ve come to expect. Also, thank goodness each table received a Grandma’s Pizza. An affair at Umberto’s isn’t complete without a taste of the Grandma Pizza. The wait staff couldn’t have been any more attentive and solicitous. They were sensational. It’s obvious what a well managed team this is, kudos to Katy and Gaetano. Thank you Umberto’s for making this a most memorable affair. One minor note - The menu, to our surprise, doesn’t include dessert. What’s an Italian meal without a tiramasu, cannoli, or napoleon ? “This is a great place! Food is fantastic, really all we had was flavorful and had heat but not so much that it was over powering. People are so friendly. Drinks are made with real fruit. Prices are very reasonable. Best for take out bc only one table. Definitely try this place, a true gem.“

Every dish was great. The attention to detail in both presentation and taste was evident. Pair that with their impressive drink selection--especially their sangria--and you have an evening to remember.

The service was top-notch as well. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and made fantastic recommendations. They made us feel like we were the only table in the house, even though the place was buzzing.

Today I went for a lobster roll which replaced the shrimp roll. last year this lobster was so delicious 😋 couldn't wait till the summer. unfortunately, I was highly disappointed. it is not longer on a garlic bun and now served on a plain hot dog bun :( also flavorless! last yr price was $24 and now up to $28 with no flavor and blah bun. please bring back the recipe from years before. thanks“

He was pleasant, professional, and had a great sense of humor. Right off the back I was pleased. The environment gave me classy, but a chilled vibe. I had the shrimp with grits with creole sauce. It was very delicious. I was not a fan of the creole sauce but only because that's not my thing. I just wanted to try it. The shrimp and potatoes that came with it were amazing! “I came here for fresh seafood and ended up purchasing several prepared food items, since those are easy and looked well made. I tried both seafood and vegetable dishes. All were fresh and tasted delicious. I care about fresh seafood. Prices are not cheap, but with seafood, quality really matters. There also appears to be a sushi restaurant onsite, which I'll have to try next time I'm in town. Roslyn is fortunate to have several local gourmet markets and this counts.“

“We were a party of 11 people and the service wasn’t good. The waiters were not friendly. They gave us a very small basket of bread for a table of 11 people, and their tables are huge. I asked for another one and they took forever to bring it. I guess they don’t care because their tip is already included in the check. And I usually tip 20 to 25%, but not this time. It’s a nice place, the food is okay, but won’t be visiting again because of the service. You don’t feel welcome as soon as you come in.“

“A quaint and locals-favorite Thai restaurant serving prime dishes. We enjoyed every single dish that was brought to our table. The portions are plenty to share around the table: we had a party of four and ordered 2 entrees, 3 appetizers and a dessert.
The Branzino is the highlight of our dinner, which came with a grand presentation. Fish tasted clean and a hint of sweetness—delectable. We also recommend the Veggie Curry Puff, a savory and flaky goodness. As for dessert, we opted for their second best, Banana Pudding with Ice Cream since they were out of Mango Sticky Rice. So Right Of The Bat This Is NOT Your Typical Seafood In That Sauce....It's A Lighter Version...This Restaurant Wants You To Actually Taste The Seafood

I Did Ask For It To Be A Bit Spicy And With Extra Ginger, Scallions And My Addition Was A Touch More Oyster Sauce...That's How I Order It Here And They Accommodate Without Issue ?

JUST A FYI The Soup Is A Clear Broth That Taste Like Chicken BUT Does Have Pork So If You Don't Consume That Then Make Sure And Let Them Know Your Restrictions

This Dish Is A Solid 8.7-9 Out Of 10

The Place Is Really Beautifully Designed, Clean, Knowledgeable Staff And Delicious Dishes

This Meal Is $20 Plus Tax Which Served Both Of Us And We Were Filled....(About $11 PP)
