It might take a little while to get my order by NYC standards but pretty fast for weatchester, but the short wait is more then worth it. The staff there are genuinely friendly and kind, which makes the experience even better always going the extra mile“

“What a delicious, pleasant surprise this little restaurant was! When I walked in I honestly didn't expect too much because it was small and completely empty, and could have been a little cleaner. However the food was outstanding, and I am VERY picky. My friend and I split a ginormous Greek salad (the stuffed grape leaves were unbelievable), and we each ordered a gyro. Mine was chicken and so good! We also ordered the side of fries, and for $4 we received a large basket of fresh, hand cut, perfectly cooked fries. I don't live anywhere New Rochelle but I'm hoping to make it back there!“

“Great welcoming management with sense of humor. They listen to your wishes and preferences as well as they discreetly check upon you during the stay. Helpful and attentive service! As always, very cozy athmosphere and very nicely made food - great lamb dishes. Wish the flavor of a hummus starter had more significant taste, it didn't have actually any seasoning, wish the tzatziki side was a little bigger. Would be lovely to have ouzo served on the alco menu as well! Great choice of a sweet mastiha shot as a wrap up of the visit! Will get me one for home! And will comeback!“

“Perfect little neighborhood gyro shop. We are frequent customers. Very residential area, quiet and relaxed. The food is great, it always tastes very fresh. Large portions. Our usual waitress Violetta is attentive, friendly, and wonderful. We live a block away and they are good neighbors and a wonderful addition to the community. Only drawback when visiting is that parking can be a challenge.“

“There is no lack of Souvlaki restaurants in NYC, let alone Astoria, but Christos Souvlaki Stand stands out.

Your basic choices (as I understand them) are- skewer, sandwich, or platter. Then you choose chicken or pork. While your order is being assembled, a couple of additional questions: hot sauce (say yes, it’s not that hot), BBQ sauce (say yes, it’s not what you think), and “everything”? (Also say yes, as this includes Tatziki, lettuce, onions, and tomatoes.

I ordered a fantastic pork souvlaki sandwich (with all of the above). The pork had just the right amount of char and smoke from their natural charcoal, but it was still juicy and tender. The fresh pita became a sponge for all the delicious juice that needed a home before my belly. I had to take it home, but you can see its ample size. In total, I think it was $7!

If you need to get on the subway to come here, do it. It’s totally worth it.“

“I discovered Taverna Kos in Astoria through a YouTube video, and I’m so glad I went—it was an excellent experience. The owner, Mike, was incredibly humble, down-to-earth, and took the time to check in and make sure we felt at home. You can tell he cares deeply about both the food and the people who come through his doors.

“Cute little food truck in a very busy area, and with so many options around I’m glad I chose to stop here. There’s no seating (as expected with a truck), but the food makes up for it. The ladies running it are super nice, and even though there’s usually a small line, it moves quickly. They’re clearly popular — while I was waiting, I noticed a lot of Greek people coming by, which is always a great sign of authenticity. “We spent our 25th wedding anniversary at Kyma and it did not disappoint! It was more than just dining- it was a whole experience! The service was phenomenal as was the foo, from the appetizers to the dessert. We ordered the Agean special. The watermelon salad was one of my favorites! After the meal, they brought us two beautifully prepared desserts. And then before we left, the manager spent time talking to us and getting to know us on a more personal level. “I stopped by BZ Grill in Astoria for a quick lunch and left seriously impressed. The owner, Margarita, is a super nice, hardworking lady who clearly takes pride in her food — everything is made fresh and with care.

I ordered the Bifteki Sandwich Lunch Special, which comes with fries. The bifteki (a seasoned Greek-style all-beef patty) was packed with flavor — juicy, perfectly grilled over charcoal, and I could taste a hint of cumin and other warm spices. Easily a 9/10. I also tried the kebab— a delicious mix of ground beef and lamb with Middle Eastern spices. It was tender and flavorful — a solid 8.5/10.

Overall, BZ Grill is a must-try for Greek street food lovers. Great flavors, generous hospitality, and a clean, welcoming vibe. I’ll definitely be back!“

“I’ve always gone to the Tarrytown location, first time trying this location. So nice and spacious! The food is delicious. The staff is wonderful.

It’s been a long time since I’ve eaten here I miss the large metal bowls the salads were made in… and sure, “dressing on the side” is the healthier option but it seems to have taken away the classic-ness of the Greek salad. Still fresh and delicious, though!“

“We visited Mont Olympos Diner in Yonkers on a Monday afternoon and were seated right away which was great! The menu did have plenty of options to choose from, though the prices are definitely a bit higher than your typical town diner.

We ordered the bacon grilled cheese, Philly cheesesteak sandwich, Parmigiana sandwich, eggplant Parmigiana sandwich, and a burger — all came with fries. They also brought out a plate of coleslaw and pickles for the table, which was a nice touch.

For my time here I received chocolate chip pancakes(a stack of four) w/ 2 hash browns and they were very tasty and filling. The chocolate pancakes weren’t too sweet but very carb heavy. I got a crazy potato with a cheese stick. It wasn’t dry nor too moist, the softest part was definitely the inside with the cheese. I also got a sunshine slush and a mango slush. The sunshine was a mango and strawberry mix with the same flavored bubbles and some small jelly cubes that were a happy surprise. The mango slush is much more recommended since it wasn’t too sweet and would relate more towards a frozen agua Fresca so very refreshing and light.
