“We had a fantastic dinner tonight at Basil and Wick's. Our server Emma was fantastic! Very enthusiastic and helpful with dinner, drink and dessert recommendations. My burger was more rare than medium rare, but that's better than overcooked. The naked brie was out of this world and so was the Huckleberry mule.“

“Food is excellent. Had the chicken and corn soup, shrimp, and sweet and spicy wings. All were very tasty. Portion on the shrimp was small and on the wings was big. Service was very attentive and had some nice local beers on tap. Ambiance is great for the area. My only knock is it needs a more extensive menu - only true protein entree was a steak. They need a chicken or fish also.“

“Such a cool hometown bar! You must check out The Barking Spider for a fun time, great drinks, and awesome conversations. The staff and customers are so friendly and offer great tips on local events and things to do in the area. Bring a dollar bill with you to write a note on it and have it hung from the ceiling to mark you visited this iconic spot! Thank you, Tim & Julie, for kickin’ it with the Candlewood Lake, CT girls this weekend! You made our trip so memorable!“

“The pizza was good and quite affordable. The restaurant was nice and clean. They do closea little earlier than I expected for a pizza place on a Friday night but within reason for the Adirondacks in general. I'd get their pizza again next time I'm in town.“

“I’ve been meaning to write this for years! We love everything about the Owl at Twilight. The food is so fresh, (literally grown in the garden that the porch overlooks,) wonderful service, and just love the atmosphere. Truly is such a unique spot in the Adirondacks with rare mid-week and weekend music, cigar, and wine events. The proprietor takes great pride in his establishment and it shows. Don’t forget to try any of their drink or dessert specials too!“

“We loved our lodging experience and I have to give a great shoutout for the dining experience. Breakfast every day. For the days they aren't open for lunch they have a sandwich bar + paper bags so you can take lunch with you. It's good quality sandwich stuff too - ham , turkey , roast beef; Cheddar , American ; 3 different types of breads. And condiments! Dinner reservations should be made in advance if you want to eat in the 5-6 range. We were here often since it was easier. We enjoyed our meals. Likely since it was close to Labor Day their kitchen staff was dwindling (and not sure Covid has done to their restaurant staff experience in general) so patience is everything. When we visited there was one cook. Their burgers and salads and soups and fries and kids meals are all very good. They have great beer / wine selections. There's no point to drive an hour away to eat every night when you have a great place right there. But definitely don't forget to make reservations :)“

“Finally !! stopped after going by many times & sure glad we did. Deserves more then 5 stars !Waitress was friendly & attentive. We started with cocktails & French onion soup - rich broth, not to salty.I had Seafood Stuffed Portobello - stuffing was so tasty ( not the usual seafood stuffing , chef was creative with this one)served with 4 nice size jumbo shrimp, which came with rice pilaf with a hint of lemon .Sauce was delicious. My husband had Pub Battered Fried Haddock crispy golden fried . He said fish tasted fresh & delicious. Both entrees came with bread basket & salad. Will we be returning … you bet we will. Next time we are in the Adirondacks !!!!Thank you for a wonderful dinner.“
