“My companion and I had dinner at Placid Pines earlier this week. I ordered the Reuben Grill sandwich and he had the Open-Faced Hot Roast Beef sandwich. Both were excellent. The corned beef in my Reuben was very lean and delicious, as was his roast beef. We both had the pumpkin crunch cheesecake for dessert, which was also very good. For a small pub like Placid Pines to serve such delicious food is a testament to their chef and kitchen staff.“

“we loved our stay. The views were beautiful and so relaxing. The food was delicious, and we loved that you could order at the Cabana bar as well as in the restaurant. We were not disappointed with anything we ordered. Best risotto I've ever had. Our bartender was very attentive, friendly and made great drinks. We were seated at a middle table that neither server came to. We had to constantly ask for drinks, dessert etc and no one would come. “Had lunch on the patio and it was excellent. Fancy bloody mary with shrimp and bacon, Greek salad with grilled shrimp, super crispy fries, a decent shrimp po' boy sandwich. Service was good and the views are stunning. I do think I'd order the fried shrimp instead of the sandwich next time - there just seemed to be a lot of bread and not enough shrimp. The grilled shrimp on my salad were excellent - fresh and tasted of the sea. Very nice fresh veggies and homemade dressing. A tradition in Lake George!“

“I have many years of experience in the restaurant business, and my family owns restaurants in North Jersey. Therefore, I understand the significance of a restaurant review. When I leave one, it is not something I do lightly.

I recently visited what used to be my favorite restaurant on the lake, and I was informed that there would be an hour-long wait for the food. Although we could be seated, it would take an hour to dine. As a result, we decided to go to Fire and Ice instead. While they offer outdoor seating, we chose to eat inside. The atmosphere was typical of a sports-type bar, and the staff exceeded our expectations.

I want to give a special mention to our server, Sophia. I believe her family owns the restaurant, and she made us feel like part of the family. Although there was a minor issue with my order, it was quickly resolved, and to my surprise, it was taken off the bill.

Fire and Ice is the place to go when you're in Lake George and craving a hamburger and a beer. The appetizers were delicious, as were the dinners. While I still visit my other favorite restaurants, Fire and Ice has become a tradition for us - our go-to spot on the first and last nights of our visit to Lake George.“
