“Pretty cafe with old time music (my favorite) Very nostalgic interior = and they just added a children's play area for when there's a wait. Staff super friendly but not intrusive. I've never had a bad meal here and try to go every weekend. Their Country Morning Breakfast or California Benedict are my favorite.“
“This is a classic diner tucked in the middle of downtown Saratoga! It’s hard to believe it is still here while new restaurants and condos have been going up around it over the years, but it’s great for Saratoga that it has stood the test of time. The breakfast was great and the service was nice and unbelievably fast!We will definitely be back.“
“My wife and I recently decided to try Scallions Restaurant in Saratoga Springs for lunch.A few years ago this restaurant was on our list to try, but when we stopped in for dinner, we stood and waited for several minutes, and no one greeted us when we arrived and were at the podium at the entrance, so we just left and went elsewhere, and hadn’t been back. This time was very, very different, and we regret not going back to give them another try sooner, as the experience was simply “excellent” in every regard. We went for lunch, and it wasn’t too busy. We were greeted immediately upon our arrival by a friendly manager, who asked us where we would prefer to be seated. We chose a small table by the window, and were presented with menus and a list of beverages, while she promptly brought us glasses of water. The menu had several choices that looked appealing, and as we looked it over, we each ordered a glass of wine, which was generously poured and delicious. We noticed that French Onion Soup was the “Soup of the Day”. This is one of our favorites, but we are highly critical, and usually disappointed. This was NOT the case today. More on that in a couple of minutes. . .As the main course, my curly headed companion ordered one of the specials: Salmon on mixed greens that came with chick peas, onions, sundried tomatoes, kalamata olives, and goat cheese, with a house dressing. I opted for Ryan’s Roast Beef, which is one of their paninis served with smoked mozzeralla, roasted red peppers, arugala and horseradish cream on grilled farm bread. The soup arrived and our first impression was positive. It had melted cheese (swiss and gruyere, I believe) baked and dripping off of the sides of the bowl, and under that delectable cover was a deliciously hot steaming mixture of soup broth, tender cooked onions, and croutons that were seasoned to perfection. We agreed at that point that whatever else might happen, this meal was already in the “success”column. It took some effort (which is a good thing with this soup) to get every last piece of cheese off of the bowl when we finished the soup, but it was worth it.Then came the entrees, and our experience continued along its pleasant mid day path:My wife truly enjoyed her Salmon salad, and was contemplating asking for the recipe for the house dressing, which was clearly the invention of the chef.I loved the Roast Beef sandwich, which complemented the lingering taste in my mouth of the French Onion Soup.Being retirees, we took our time with our entrees and wine, and were the only customers remaining in the restaurant when the dessert choices were mentioned. We typically skip dessert, or only peruse the menu to count the calories we would avoid by not ordering, but this time, we opted to split an order of Toll House Cookie Pie. We were again delighted with the taste and portion size of this treat. It was warm, appropriately gooey, and topped with fresh dollop of whipped cream.Throughout our dining experience, our server checked back with us a few times, engaged in pleasantries, and was a delightfully friendly. We’d give Scallions 5 stars out of 5, and would recommend it for lunch. We will be back for more lunches, and for dinner to try that menu out as well.“
“Amazingly busy, worth being put on their waiting list! Wonderful, unique, and delicious drinks.Their menu items are savory and portions are filling. As a former hostess/bartender/wait staff, it was a pleasure to watch their front room staff interact and perform like a well-oiled-machine.Vegetarian options: They are willing to accommodate my good allergies.Dietary restrictions: They are willing to help me with gluten free options!“
“Went for Easter brunch with my mother. It was an à la carte brunch which I much prefer since I can no longer get my money's worth at one of the normal brunches (too old to stuff myself to the point of bursting like I could when I was younger since it is like drinking too much). Our waitress Sarah (sorry if misspelled) was great. As a former server myself, please leave your servers, their tips and cash if possible. It's appreciated. Also, the owner came out to see how everything was and I apologize for forgetting her name but a lovely woman. We've been there on several different occasions and haven't been disappointed.“
“Visiting Saratoga Springs for a conference. Googled well rated places close by. 3 block walk from the Hilton and was well rated. First impression upon entering was a small quaint place. It isn't a place for a large party but for two to four it's perfect. We had no wait , but seemed like we may need to call ahead on a main dining out night. The place was full and loud at first. Once the bar ( 4 seats) cleared out it was quiet enough to have a private conversation. The service was great and very attentive staff. The food was excellent and timing of appetizers and main dishes was spot on. I ordered the a special of surf and turf.. could not finish it. The appetizer was seasoned and cooked well. Expect to spend 100-150 a person plus for drinks. Would come back“
“Was absolutely amazing. This place was good and knows how to handle situations. Our waitress was embarrassed by the group of drunk women who thought it was ok to grab her butt while we ordered food. She handled it like a champ and staff was quick to react and get patrons to leave. Hope her day got better after the entitled "keep up with Jones's" left. Will be back again.“
“Solid brewery with some interesting pours. Tried the what's up doc sour and the hazy ipa and both were great. The broccoli cheddar soup and kimchi brussels sprouts were hearty and full of flavor. Will definitely be coming back next time we are in Saratoga “
“Lovely little Italian place that’s pretty popular judging by the full house on a Wednesday when I had dinner there. Started with a generous serving of bread. I ordered the Veal Danny which is veal in cream sauce with some lobster claws thrown in. It was good, albeit a bit too creamy for my liking. My friends ordered the sea bass, pork chop and boneless short ribs which were all good.“
“Six of us enjoyed dinner here last night and I cannot say enough good things. The wine, cocktail and NA cocktail lists were extensive. We enjoyed about 10 appetizers and our server staged them perfectly. Our favorites were the dates, brussels sprouts and tomato bread. The highly recommended churros exceeded expectations. We’ll definitely go back to check out the other half of their large selection of tapas!“
“Their Lobster Pizza is to die for. We live 300 miles away and will be back. They only have a few beer taps but a great selection of cans. Had a Heady Topper with the Lobster Pizza which just made my day.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free for my daughter and her girlfriend“
“I want to start this off with I am a person who loves trying new places and sitting inside to eat, but unfortunately most places are too packed, loud and overwhelming for me to sit inside and eat. However, this place was not only a safe and quiet place, but it's a tucked away little sweet place with a couple galleries to walk around before or after you eat, or if there's a wait, or just in general if you are an art enthusiast as myself. There is more than enough seating available. And even some outdoor seating with a little area to move around if you have kids that need to run around a bit or are high energy.Food wise. I highly recommend the falafel burger and tater tots. They were both super crispy and so flavorful. Not many places can perfect the falafel, however, i think this place has got it figured out! The side portions are on the snaller side. So, I do recommend getting your own rather than getting an order to split, unless you have a more sensitive stomach or fill up quickly, then it is the perfect amount! The workers were very sweet and attentative if we needed anything.Overall left happy and fed, and 100% comfortable the entire time!“
“Our server was so considerate: he brought a bag holder for my friends bag AND two napkins so we could spit out our gum without us asking - so attentive!! The food was excellent - the mushroom toast is a must, the beats were great with the pistachio spread, and the butter rolls - forget about it. Highly recommend!!“
“Came here for a work gathering. We had a whole side/section to ourselves, with a shuffleboard table! The food they provided was great, sliders/tacos/pizza. Perfect hand held bites for milling around and networking. They have an extensive list of beers on tap and everyone found something that made them happy. The servers were attentive! Great laid back space.“
“An absolute gem of a place! I got the Shrimps & Scallops Marinara and it was easily one of the best I've ever had. A touch spicy but not overpowering. The linguine soaked up the sauce perfectly. I ate all the scallops and knew I had to take the rest home because it was a huge portion. Lightly heated the next day with the shrimp and it was still perfection! Only thing is, my salad was drenched in the dressing. IMO next time def dressing on the side. The blue cheese in the house dressing was delicious. We drove almost an hour and would def do it again! Btw the fresh bread with herbs butter was fresh and delicious!“
“The food was absolutely amazing! The service was just as great, Michael our server checked in with us a few times during our dinner and made sure we were doing alright without being overbearing. The atmosphere was a little dark but everything else made up for it. Absolutely will be back for more amazing dishes :)“
“Couldn't have been more perfect. We were a large crowd, after track season with a bunch of kids. We enjoyed brunch, drinks, and London NFL games indoors and outdoors with plenty of room for the kids to run and play under the tent outside. Friendly and accommodating staff made this a terrific Sunday spot for a few parents and their kids....?“
“My wife and I were in town for one night but two breakfasts’, both of which we had the pleasure of dining at the Merc. Absolutely chill vibes, late 90s knocks on the radio, BASKET OF BISCUITS…sorry I legit get carried away when describing my experience at the merc, waitress thanked us for our patience as your validly popular restaurant filled up. No! THANK YOU! For your wonderfully fresh ingredients , friendly service and overall great experience.Vegetarian options: I’m not a vegetarian but the menu had a lot of viable or as is options!“
“Are you looking to get off Broadway and hang with the locals? The Local - Pub & Teahouse is one of those places that doesn't cut corners. The vibe is fun, warm, and cozy. They have a full bar with anything you like. We had two cocktails to see how good their mixology skills are, a vodka martini and a burbon Manhattan, and both were perfect! Their menu is elevated pub food with daily specials and some unique dishes such as the Irish Cuban sandwich. The food was fresh, homemade, and delicious! If I had to guess, they have a real chef on staff. Round all of this out with their impeccable service, and I have no choice but to give it five stars.Pro Tip: If your gluten free this place is a must visit.“
“Food top notch...steak as good if not better than Cap G, Smith and W, Abe and L, Grill 23, etc. Lots of other items to choose from, daughter is a vegetarian :) Service was spectacular also. Highly recommend. Our new favorite resytaurant in Saratoga Springs!“
“Re: Thanksgiving buffet. The presentation was A1. The food was excellent. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Overall a great Thanksgiving experience. Will return and recommend. Happy Thanksgiving to all. Pastor Patrick Roach. Saratoga Springs, “
“Adorable bakery that gives back to the neighborhood. Food was served quickly and piping hot. Nothing like a great soup and sandwich. I've been here several times. Pastry is wonderful. Outdoor seating and the building is so welcoming - looks like a fairytale house. Love it there.“
“Great service, great food came out super fast too ! We had gotten an app it came out so fast and hot the time we all finished we got our food! We were so full from the app we all got boxes the waitress brought more refills without even asking she was polite attentive and amazing!“
“The 99 restaurant was an amazing place. Good food, good service, and a good atmosphere. My 99 review for the one I went to is 100/100 experience. The one I went to was the one in Saratoga Springs near the mall. I like any 99 restaurant I can find. They are a good restaurant chain.“
“Went here during restaurant week. They had great 3 course specials 25$, 35$, and 45$. Ordered a Pineapple Margarita and a Rum and Coke which were both nicely done. Spicy Rigatoni and Chicken Marsala with Risotto instead of pasta for entrees which were both delicious. But the best course was Jacob's Chowder as an appetizer. Hot, creamy, and full of seafood it was the best chowder I've ever had. Chocolate cake with a chocolate mousse layer ended it nicely. This place is worth visiting without restaurant week.Parking: If you can't find a spot on the street, there's a paid parking garage right across from the restaurant.“
“We all ordered the turkey dinners the other night and everything was excellent. My daughter ate all her turkey which she never does. The mashed potatoes Gravy green beans cranberry sauce and stuffing were also excellent. I would recommend this place to anyone eating in Saratoga.“
